Finally got caught up with Rebels.

Spoiler

Spoilers, I guess?

I like how short and sweet Maul and Obi Wan fight went. An one, two and a three. Done. I find Maul's last words to be quite choice. "We will be avenged"

Of course the finale is pretty sweet. Nothing that stands out for Hera to become General Syndulla but I suppose that is yet to come. I honestly didn't expect to see Bendu angry and Bendu's Storm makes Force Lightning seems like child's play. Not direct but immensely powerful and can kick anybody's ass. It's the way of the middle and I suppose something we'll see more in The Last Jedi.

As for The Last Jedi, I hope it's better than The Force Awakens which while good, played it too safe. The trailer above gives me hope. God, the next eight months is going to suck.

Final season. Hold me because of that and that that preview image is like a death flag. Anyhow:

Maybe, just maybe, they'll pull a Netflix show next. Being unrestrained from Disney XD should help tell the stories they want to tell. Not to say that they haven't shown some serious stuff but it could've been more.

Rogue One at least has Chopper and Hera still around. Ezra is about Lukes age so I guess he has to die just to avoid those questions on not being involved in the academy. Heck the whole "rebels had access to two jedi already, why not bring them along to Endor" etc.

Bearded Kallus is cool though.

I guess it's kinda cool  cos it means the show has stakes. In TCW you know obi-wan and co will get through to end of show as they're in RotS.

I still want to see Hondo in a film.

Ezra is obviously Snoke (Don't say that to Pablo Hildago's face). As for Kanan Jarrus, Jedi Knight, I have a feeling Bendu isn't done with him. But yeah, the stakes are pretty neat to have. Though it's nice to have a (probable) true survivor.

And Hondo has to be in the Han Solo movie. He really cannot be in any other and it be a great missed opportunity.

I'm unsure if I want to dive into the books for the new trilogy now or later. On one hand it would expand the context of the movies but on the other, the movies should stand by themselves which I think it is hard for me to judge if I have read the books.

REX WAS IN JEDI HOLY FUCK

A retcon at least a decade in the making. A pretty clever one if true.

I like this one, except for one thing. I thought clones aged at an accelerated rate, how is it Rex is roughly the same age as ObiWan in the original trilogy and in the Clone Wars? Once they reach adulthood do they slow down the aging process?

My head canon is that while the clones are pretty much the same but the "pretty much" leaves just enough room for enough differences to explain Rex's longevity. Combine that with any changes that removing the Order 66 implant and not knowing how clones will function at such advance age gives me enough reason to believe Rex is possible. Also because he's god damn Rex.

And you mentioned Obi Wan. You can blame Tatooine's sand and twin suns but he looked more than the 57 years old he is at the time of his death.

So Star Wars Episode IX is due to come out 24th May 2019. I kinda like the current December trend. I know Han Solo also booking that trend and Rogue One wasn't meant to be December but fuck it, it's a good time for it.

That's a really good photo. Like, if I was Mark Hamill and/or Carries family I'd want a copy of this framed. (there's also one of Carrie with her daughter which I imagine is defo getting that treatment in some way).

And more photos from Vanity Fair photo shoot:

Also the fact Phasma is helmetless might imply they're giving her a bigger role in this maybe. She's certainly one of the dissapointments of TFA (nothing that is Gwendolines fault)

Lord & Miller (of Jump Street, Lego Movie, others) have left, during filming no less, the Han Solo film
http://variety.com/2017/film/news/star-wars-han-solo-movie-directors-phil-lord-christopher-miller-exit-1202473743/

It's cited as "creative differences" which is pretty much a euphemism and really a new euphemism should be cooked up cos no one believes it's ever "creative differences" anymore. Especially if you're nearing the end of a shoot, usually and differences the directors have and the producers have should have cropped up during pre-production.

Lord & Miller being on Han Solo film was one of the things in the "pro" column, and them leaving is a bit of a blow. Rogue One having reshoots too doesn't exactly help smooth fears it's gonna be a bit poopy.

I've really soured on TFA since it came out. It's still a lot better than the prequels, but that's obviously not saying much. It's just a bunch of little shit, like being able to see the deathstar fire in the sky, the same dumbass thing as in Star Trek 2009. The fact that they're bringing JJ Abrams back for IX just makes me go ugh, and turns me off from continuing with them.

Is the fire in the sky any more unbelievable than sound in space and shit like that??
