CorgiShinobi
So I haven't watched SNL in forever, but I saw this posted from some friends on Facebook a few times. It's actually a bit funny.
deanb
I'd tried watching it yesterday but I don't think I can cope with that style of TV/editing.
TCP
I finished The Clone Wars a few days ago. For the most part, it was pretty great. Some of the story arcs where a new planet got invaded by the Separatists, Anakin and co would show up to help, a local leader would have to step up but then get betrayed, lose hope, then over come, got a little repetitive and boring. But besides that... it was pretty great! I actually like the more light hearted episodes (like when R2 and 3PO went off on their own adventure) the best and of course, the episodes that expanded on the Jedi lore. The kid Jedi's were pretty great, I hope that Wookie Jedi didn't die Onto Rebels now. Production value is definitely a set back, but the constant cast and tighter focus keep it great. It's essentially Firefly in the Star Wars universe, which is great. Edited January 23, 2016 by The Cowboy Poet
CorgiShinobi
So I'm noticing a trend online where people are getting disillusioned by The Force Awakens Cause I guess nothing can ever compare to the originals? I still love it, but now I'm seeing all this moaning online and nitpicking whenever I find anything Star Wars. Damned if you do, damned if you don't? deanb
Isn't that part of the "Great Cycle"? Like you get hype, then watch and really enjoy and be like "this is the best thing since sliced bread" then a month or so passes and it's like "it's not as good as it could have been" then more time passes and folks are like "Actually it was pretty good, I can acknowledge the flaws and positives in it". Watch for it with Deadpool, come this time next month they'll be folks picking it apart.
Mister Jack
The same thing happens with Zelda games. There was a time when people said Majora's Mask was crap.
TCP
PREDICTION: Episode 8 begins with a cold open, featuring Luke and Rey, immediately after TFA ended, with Rey holding out the lightsaber. Luke says "I don't need that" and pulls out a black handled lightsaber, turns it on emitting a red beam, and quickly cuts Rey down. Cue scroll. Next time we see him in the movie he's wearing the hide of Chewbacca and a hat made out of the top of R2D2. EDIT: I WROTE THAT PREDICTION BEFORE SEEING THIS HOLY FUCK IT'S HAPPENING: Edited February 15, 2016 by The Cowboy Poet

deanb
http://www.slashfilm.com/leia-hugging-rey-jj-abrams-force-awakens/ The Leia & Rey hug: Basically JJ assumed a bit too much about his direction. He's right in his thinking, just shot it a bit weirdly.
deanb
Blu-Ray trailer, laying out a few bits of the additional features ("including a full length documentary"). No word on the addition of a digital Jabba.
Popular Post deanb
Rogue One teaser trailer. Gonna be lots of dissecting this one. That Death Star reveal shot is sweet. Many bothans died to bring you this trailer.
TheMightyEthan
I wonder why it's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" instead of "Star Wars: Rogue One".
TCP
Looks great! The Bothans were involved in stealing the Death Star II plans, so no Bothans in this film, probably. Also "A Star Wars Story" is really bad. Star Wars: Rogue One is much better.
Mr. GOH!
TME: Probably because they decided main sequence SW movies are part of the "Star Wars [roman numeral] ; [subtitle]" sequence while the side stories are "a Star Wars story" to differentiate the two and let audiences know the side stories don't follow the main saga of the Skywalker family. TheMightyEthan
Well that was a dumb decision that makes their movie title sound stupid.

deanb
It's good to add in exposition, which I imagine is part of the point of the video (the channel normally looks at film-school type stuff. It's one I'm subbed to)
TCP
What! The first time in years there's a film with a commentary I want to watch and The Force Awakens doesn't have it?! JJ ABRAMS, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?!?!

CorgiShinobi
Kylo Ren is actually upset because ol' Uncle Luke gave him chronic back pain. He heard the Dark Side typically had prosthetic replacements for just about anything. One cyborg spine later and he's able to smash computers with ease once again.
Thursday Next
Kylo Ren is actually upset because ol' Uncle Luke gave him chronic back pain. Until the blast from Chewie's gun made it play which is why he had to keep hitting his side.
deanb
So Disney have remade Force Awakens with Emojis, they're cheating quite a lot though.
deanb
These are pretty great and creative (where the actors allow) con photos. http://imgur.com/a/PExAO Shame some of them are a bit like "just smile, take photo n go" types but you hear a lot of actors aren't overly keen on the cons. Though the ones that are are the ones you pretty much expect to go all in, Anthony Daniels surprised though given I hear he's kinda uptight on most Star Wars stuff but I guess this broke the monotony. Also my first thought on the "Most people don't know who Major Derlin is" is "Probably not but I doubt that'll stop him having a 1,000 word Wookiepedia article on him. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Bren_Derlin/Legends Canon less so, Legends oh gods yes.
