i can understand not wanting to be bothered in the street but in the con where you have gone to interact with your fans and are being paid to do so you should get the stick out of your bum or save their money and not turn up and disappoint everyone,

Cons are very hard work and very taxing on stars, more so for old folks like anyone who was involved with the original Star Wars trilogy. I mean, I have a couple of friends in their 30's who do book signings and they're not at all famous and both are exhausted by meet-and-greet signings that only last an hour or so. I cannot imagine how tiring it is to act excited to energetically interact with high-energy fans of a role you did 40 years ago for hours on end. All of the actors in that set were gracious and the fan graciously accepted the actor's limitations on his suggestions. Fans are not entitled to anything more than that. I mean, not that fans should act like stars are doing them a huge personal favor by just showing up at cons, but it's reasonable to expect they won't want to play around with you for a photo when they have 700 more to pose for that day.

James Earl Jones returning as voice of Vader. No word on who'll be the body but I imagine it's unlikely to be Prowse (seems there's a rift between him n Star Wars lot, and given what I've seen how he acts on this Twitter timeline it's probably deserved).

From what I can tell he never got any residuals due to hollywood accounting, I'm not even an actor I know that unless you're hot shit you're unlikely to make any long term gains off the "profits" of a film. Star Wars was famous for just that given Lucas went for the merchandising rights instead. Complaining of being "snubbed" for film that doesn't even feature Darth Vader isn't a great look either. I imagine Kenny Barker n Anthony Daniels were unlikely to make much if any long term income off Star Wars either. Looking into it it turns out he spoiled Empire Strikes Back too which is why Lucas snubbed him for being under the mask and Sebastian Shaw instead.

He's had plenty other roles, he's been the Green Cross Code Man, he's been a heavy weight champion, he trained Superman. He has much he could do instead he whines about Star Wars and has "David Prowse @isDarthVader" as his handle. Tying his online identity with a film series he's generally done little but show bitterness towards for the decades.

Yeah he said it would be in the third movie, and mentioned a Star Wars 4, but he also said it's revealed in the midst of a lightsaber battle between the two. Hardly seems like just a coincidence, more like minor script changes.

As far as I know the whole thing with Vader being Luke's father was a secret. Like, the shooting script had a different line entirely so none of the actors except Mark Hamill knew until they saw the cut with James Earl Jones' recorded dialogue.

Don't get me wrong, Prowse sounds like a bit of a dick anyway (he supports UKIP...), but it seems like he at least has genuine reasons for being bitter over that.

I've been told after making the joke that it's the second death star where many bothans die, this is the first death star.

I'm mildly hyped for this one. I'm not gonna go in expecting much given it's a New Hope prequel so we're not gonna learn much "new" or whatever but be interesting to see some of the lore and world outside of the Skywalkers n Jedi explored a little bit. It's under the wing of Disney n they're doing pretty alright with the MCU so I figure a SWCU will do pretty fine too (even if there's like no direct continuity n team ups between them).

p.s I suspect that one of the Rogue One guys is the old guy from the start of Ep VII. Probably the male sidekick dude.

Forest Whittakers character is this dude btw:

Makes sense given they're the original rebellion, even if that was against separatists on behalf of the republic at the time. Series 5 Episode 2 for several episodes if you're interested in giving it an initial watch.
