deanb
Atomsk hadn't embedded right the first time but you can pause it: Just hover over it and the controls pop up.
Faiblesse Des Sens
When I hover over it on Imgur or the embeded nothing pops up. I guess I should blame NoScript? Either way shame on them for making something that's the same quality as a gif. But that fucking Lucas Edition is hilarious. Saw that elsewhere and had to double check that it was posted already. CorgiShinobi
Can't see it on mobile, but now I'm on my Chromebook. I see it, but I don't have the controls either. But yes, the Lucas Edition is hilariously good.
Mal
For Firefox, you can enable the controls in the right-click menu. As for the quality, as far as I know, you got to upload a gif to get a gifv. So you'll get a gif quality gifv.I got a whole army of webm that can't be uploaded onto Imgur (Or did I? I can't recall). I'm unsure of any good/reliable webm sharing sites.
Faiblesse Des Sens
So wait it doesn't even let you use full webm quality? Sigh. That's a half-step. Why not use gfycat for your webms?
TheMightyEthan
For Firefox, you can enable the controls in the right-click menu. Aha! That fixed it in Chrome too.

TheRevanchist
On the Star Wars rumor front, here are some interesting things: *SPOILERS INCLUDED http://www.thenational.ae/arts-lifestyle/film/20141203/lucasfilm-employee-spills-star-wars-plot-spoilers Non-spoiler related, there are rumors abound that Toon Town in Disneyland will soon be Star Wars town. The CEO did announce back in August that SW would be getting a significant presence at Disneyland. And, since Toon Town has already been removed at DisneyWorld, the writing was on the wall for Toon Town in Disneyland anyway. The announcement is still some time away, as it's expected to be revealed at Celebration in the spring. Also on the rumor front, a SW fan's movie poster he made could be used as the official movie poster. Apparently, the work was impressive enough to warrant a look by Lucasfilm. Mr. GOH!
Aside from Old Han Solo, the SNL one is pretty weak, sadly. Hot Heart
They're called "younglings". GOSH! Was he still using the blue one at that point? Yeah, he even has blue during that final duel.
Normo
Looks like everyone else finds the crossguard lightsaber just as ridiculous as we do. Am I the only one that thinks it kinda looks cool? I guess you could say it looks a bit impractical, but we haven't even seen it in use yet. I'll hold off any strong opinions until the films, because they might be able to make some use out of the design. TheMightyEthan
Which reminds me: I had a dream the other night that my wife and I were watching the new Star Wars. It co-written and co-directed by JJ Abrams and Harrison Ford, and was starring Patrick Stewart. It started off on an ice planet near Earth, where there was this shitty colony of people who had had to leave Earth for some reason. Then the colony was attacked by the Flood, lead by Kerrigan, but a Flood Kerrigan, not a Zerg Kerrigan. Patrick Stewart had been mentoring this little girl (like 11), and they were captured by Flood-Kerrigan and put in a cage. That's when I woke up. It's like my brain just threw together everything I've ever seen with the word "star" in the title.

deanb
http://www.dorkly.com/post/72005/35-amazing-alternate-takes-on-the-star-wars-universe Some pretty cool styles. I like the ukiyo-e ones.
TheRevanchist
That first page, number 2, makes Han look like Cyclops in his off time Speaking of SW, the 501st had a booth at the Girl Scout Expo I took my daughter to. They had about 15 or so characters, plus some people running the booth. In all, it was a great thing to see. My son's not wanting to go (because he is all boy and wants nothing to do with girls quite yet) changed his tune when he spotted a storm trooper. There were some other things there, as well, but this was the highlight for me.
deanb
Very short "what if" comic for Star wars (another franchise). Worth a quick read, though shame it is so short. http://imgur.com/a/xNGNO
Mal
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=434&v=PN_CP4SuoTU Jesus Christ. Even with the rotoscoping and 3D animation (amazing for a one man drawing and animating job, beats out most modern examples) that some may dislike, this is porn on so many different levels. Edit: This video also highlights a need for a newer space fighter game (something like Colony Wars but improved). madbassman39
Edit: This video also highlights a need for a newer space fighter game (something like Colony Wars but improved). Elite: Dangerous has been scratching that itch for me lately. Released in December .
