Does anyone know a good place to sell cd keys? I got a copy of Final Fantasy XIV that I can't use because it's the wrong version. I'm trying to either trade it for the right one or sell it for the equivalent cost.

Long shot, but you could try Sqeenix Customer Services to swap for the correct version?

Holy shit, Arc System Works are making a 2D Dragon Ball Z fighting game! Seems to be done in the same "fake 2D" style as Guilty Gear Xrd, which is absolutely fantastic!

I'm not the biggest fighting game fan there is but I fucking love DBZ and if I have a favorite fighting game dev, it's definitely ASW. So, this is pretty much the dream game I never realized I wanted! If I can't get Persona 4 Arena on Steam (get fucked, Atlus!), then this is a very welcome substitute.

I think SEGA as a whole is on board the PC train so Yakuza is just a matter of time. Persona is a bit more tricky but since SEGA owns Atlus, resistance can only hold out for so long. Atlus USA, Sega of America and Sega Europe know what their audience wants. It's just a matter of if Japan get what their overseas audience wants.

I thought the same thing about Atlus ever since the acquisition, but I'm less optimistic now. It's true that SEGA have a strong presence on PC but it's mostly a SEGA Europe thing. Most of their PC-centric studios are based in Europe and we now know that the PC port effort is also mainly a SEGA Europe thing, with the Japanese branch being largely uninvolved and (seemingly) uninterested.

There also seems to be some kind of disconnect between the two. You know that PS4 remaster of Valkyria Chronicles that everyone assumed was just a port of the PC version? Yeah, turns out that was actually a completely different port developed independently in Japan. I mean, that's just mindbogglingly inefficient and implies a pretty serious lack of communication between the branches of the company. At the very least, day and date PC releases of their Japanese-developed PS4 games seems incredibly unlikely if not impossible. All we can realistically hope for is that Japan doesn't block Europe from getting their hands on the games, I think.

I'm skeptical but I don't think it's completely hopeless. Anime games are fucking huge on Steam these days and Persona is pretty much guaranteed to sell very well. I imagine that has to carry some weight in any port discussion. It just needs to outweigh the (proven) stupidity of the people in charge in Japan.

Fate/Extella coming to Steam July 25. Gonna be 50 bucks and include no DLC.

Given XSEED's comment about wanting PC versions for most of their games, I assumed this was a sure thing when they first announced the game. But then they announced a Switch port out of nowhere with no word about PC. Turns out it's coming at the same time, which makes me think they don't seem to be learning from their mistakes. :/

I wonder how many bombs it'll take before they get it into their thick skulls that dropping a game on Steam with no warning until the last minute isn't going to cut it anymore. There was no valid reason whatsoever not to announce this alongside the Switch version or as part of their E3 line-up. Yet they felt the need to give a heads up for Zwei, which is essentially guaranteed to sell about ~46 copies regardless of any marketing. I still love you, XSEED, but sometimes you make my head hurt...

I've been thinking about picking up Batman Telltale Season 1 after watching some stuff on youtube for Season 2. Is it worthwhile? Where does it rank up in amongst some of the other games we've had over the years. My understanding is that it's all original? No direct influence from any other sources of Batman media.

I really liked it. If you enjoy Telltale's games and are a Batman fan, then I don't think you can go wrong with it. It's technically original but it's the kind of Batman story you've seen plenty of times before. It does change some details both big and small, though, which helps keep things interesting.

So does anyone remember that Yo! Noid game for the NES way back in the day?  Someone actually made a sequel to it and put it online for download.  I can't find a trailer for it on youtube so I'm just gonna paste a stream instead.  Obviously I don't expect anyone to watch the whole thing, but you can click around just to get an idea of what they made.

I don't know, lots of people play games, not all of them are "hardcore" gamers.  If a game doesn't explain itself well enough for a less-seasoned player then while that may not be relevant to me, that doesn't mean it's not relevant to some people and worth discussing.
