Out of those I've played, it's the closest to being as good as the first one. Guess I was jaded by 3 too much. Okay, let's include 4. Ok so here's where I'm at with this: 1) your post says nothing about Sam Fisher. 2) The video doesn't say anything about Sam Fisher. 3) I've never played Splinter Cell because why would I play the poor man's Metal Gear? So how am I suppose to recognize a voice as Sam Fisher. 4) All I was asking was for you to KINDLY explain your cryptic AF post. 5) I HATE YOUR GUTS
toxicitizen
The video doesn't need to say anything about Sam Fisher because Michael Ironside's voice + those night vision goggles are the closest thing Ubisoft have to something that's ACTUALLY iconic!!! And I did end up explaining it. So yeah, you're welcome! Oh and Splinter Cell > Metal Gear. 1

There's been some retailer leaks but as far as I'm concerned this is all the confirmation I need. There's no way they brought Ironside back just for some Ghost Recon DLC. Splinter Cell at E3!!! HELL YEAH \m/ \m/ I wonder if it'll be like the Predator stuff, a short mission, or if it'll be bigger/set up an announcement or something. How did it work for the Predator thing? Was it paid DLC or an in-game "event" kinda deal like the Gary Busey mission for Hitman? And could you play as the Predator? Hell you could argue that the fucking Rabbids are more iconic than fucking Splinter Cell. Hey FLD, what's it like LIVING IN BIZARRO WORLD!?! MetalCaveman
It was a free in-game event, a short mission where you hunt the Predator, you can't play as the Predator, but you do get the mask, which changes the way the thermal vision works you also get some face paint which depending on your character may look cool or really dumb. There was also some paid DLC which added the full Predator outfit, and some other stuff, including an outfit based on Dutch, there was also some PVP stuff but I didn't check that out. Pretty simple, but I loved the hell out of it.

The rabbids are minions level trash and I care about Sam Fisher way more than I ever cared about Ezio, Arnold or whoever the fuck else. Assassin's Creed is fine but it's the epitome of factory-line produced generic content. It's the antithesis of iconic, no matter how much Ubisoft insist otherwise. 4 hours ago, Ultra TCP said: I mean yeah but I feel like you can't judge Metal Gear for Survive. We're only a few years past The Phantom Pain which is the series' best game. I haven't played Survive, so it's not a factor. My current opinion of MGS is based mostly on Phantom Pain. Like Mal said, it was simultaneously the series' worst and best game. The story was insulting trash that ended Kojima's run on a really bad note but the gameplay was god-tier. So, I ended up super disappointed with the game but still having a ton of fun with the gameplay. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is up there with Thief 2 as one of the best stealth games ever made. Personal preferences aside, Splinter Cell is just stronger as a stealth game because it's not trying to be anything else. It's not having you hunt for fucking raccoons or complete balloon shooting side-missions or whatever other goddamn nonsense. You hide or you die. End of story. TCP
Just because you like Splinter Cell a lot doesn't mean Sam Fisher is iconic. Face it, it's a B level franchise!!! We haven't had a good argument in a while. This was good. But seriously, B level franchise. Also @TheMightyEthan why did I get a notification from you saying you mentioned me in this thread? Did you delete your post? What are you trying to hide?!?! Edited April 7, 2018 by Ultra TCP
TCP
I MADE MY FIRST MEME OFF THIS ARGUMENT. That was terrible, I'm sorry.
toxicitizen
I never said it was iconic, I said it was the CLOSEST thing they had to something actually iconic! You're twisting my words and you know it!! Face it, if Splinter Cell had a history of exclusivity with PlayStation rather than Xbox, we wouldn't be having this argument. Your ignorance of the series doesn't change the fact that Splinter Cell is Ubisoft's best series. It's the Blade Runner of Ubisoft games. It's actually brilliant but mainstream audiences are too dumb to realize it, so it keeps bombing! And yes, that meme was terrible... which means i love it!!!

toxicitizen
Xseed teasing their Marvelous slate for 2018. So, an old X360 game that looks kind of awful, Ninja Boobs and that Fate musou sequel/update(?). Not the most exciting line-up, sometimes I kinda wish they weren't owned by Marvelous. They don't exactly have the most amazing ouput. Hopefully they have a few surprises left for E3. Although after the last couple years, I'm not getting my hopes up too much. Surprised to see Senran Kagura confirmed for PC at the same time, though. They usually come months later, so I wonder if it means simultaneous release. HELL YEAH Fate/Extella Link! \m/ \m/ Reflexions is one of those games many thought would never make it over here, cool to see it, though I don't own a Switch. Renewal had already been teased but it's cool to see confirmation of it along with platforms, didn't expect a PC release so soon. Bullet Witch is a game I wanted to play on 360 back when I saw the trailer, looked cool in a super over-the-top kind of way, never managed to get it though, as it was sold-out/out-of-print. Doesn't look like it aged well though. Highlight is Fate/Extella though, can't wait for it. \m/ \m/

deanb
I wonder if that's more of a convenient excuse on cost cutting. Not attending one of the big trade shows is sure to save you a fair few pennies.
MetalCaveman
Probably, though I wouldn't be surprised if that was their real reason, over here, schools/businesses make time for the World Cup, specially when Mexico plays, I remember classes would be suspended so we could watch the matches. Fun times.
Mal
https://news.microsoft.com/stories/xbox-adaptive-controller/ This is super cool. You can also rebind keys to buttons with 3.5mm jack (seems to be a common connection). Seems like there's also a copilot mode that I assume allow someone to play with you directly. Useful for stuff that probably impractical for you to do? Chances are good that this can be used on PC as well. Again, freaking cool.
