Mal
METAL WOLF CHAOS IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING. Let's party!
toxicitizen
Kill la Kill game announced. Cool, I guess? Although it's a fucking disgrace that it isn't being made by Platinum. I'd be way more interested in it then.
Mal
Arc is only publishing. The devs are the one who made the Little Witch Academia game. It looked and sounded great but the game leaves a lot to be desired from what I hear.
toxicitizen
Yeah, when the teaser countdown started I was kind of hoping it would be a fighting game made by ASW. Though, I guess Kill La Kill doesn't quite have the same mass appeal as Dragon Ball Z...
TheMightyEthan
So I'm weirdly actually starting to look forward to the Tales of Vesperia remaster? Tales of Destiny was the first JRPG I ever really liked. I tried Symphonia but couldn't get into it, and that kind of put me off the series, but watching videos of Vesperia and I think I might try this one out. toxicitizen
Atelier Arland trilogy announced for PS4 and Switch in Japan! This is very likely to come West and I would expect a Steam release as well. Also, @deanb might be nothing but I accidentally clicked on this thread's first page and Chrome went apeshit with a red page warning of a deceptive site (mentioned fishing and Raptr, which IIRC some people used to have in their signature). Thought you might want to know. Edited July 11, 2018 by FLD
Mal
Fixing one typo seem to have fixed Aliens: Colonial Marines Xenomorph's AI a bunch. Granted it doesn't make the game even an okay buy but if you have it on PC, you can try to enjoy it by having some challenge to your playthrough. Not like how it is previously where you could seriously run through entire levels
TheMightyEthan
EA has announced a new Premier tier for Origin Access. It costs $15/month or $100/year, and gives you complete unlimited access to all new Origin games. That's kind of insane, really. New game comes out, sub to Premier and basically get it for free for $15. It could be great for someone like me, since I rarely take more than a month to finish a game, and anymore I basically don't play games more than once. Too bad it's EA. I honestly can't think of a single EA game coming out in the next year that I have more than a passing interest in.
Mister Jack
Some absolute saint has created a PC port of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood! No tricky emulators or roms needed. This is just a plain old exe file that works like a charm. They even translated it into English! How did I not know about this sooner? toxicitizen
This is one of the titles that people had been asking SEGA to port since the very start along with VC, Bayo and Vanquish, so it's about time. What's interesting is that the listing only mentions Tri-Ace as publisher. These ports are usually a SEGA EU thing, so it makes me wonder if this one is different. toxicitizen
Lol, I'd say now we know what the delay was about but at this point I'm not sure we can assume anything about how deep their incompetence runs. These are such baffling things to remove from a PC port that it's hard to even guess whether there was something causing a genuine problem or if it was just some kind of idiotic decision. MetalCaveman
https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/announcing-the-epic-games-store Epic launching their own store, instead of the 70/30 Steam has, they'll go with 88/12, if you use the Unreal Engine and sell your game through their store, you won't have to worry about the 5% royalty fee. Could be cool, hope it isn't region locked.
Mister Jack
Apparently this Epic store isn't going to have user forums for their games the way the steam store does. Instead they're going to use a ticketing system. I can see why they went this route since steam forums are frequently a shithole, but I can't imagine users are going to be happy about this. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, the user forums on Steam may suck for conversation, but they can be really useful for when you're having a bug in a game and looking for a solution.
toxicitizen
Honestly, even for technical help it's still a dumpster fire. PC Gaming Wiki is a far more useful alternative most of the time. In related Steam/Valve news, CS:GO has gone free to play and has added a Battle Royale mode. I was never really into Counter-Strike all that much but I'm reinstalling it to check it out. Hopefully it's a decent alternative because I enjoyed what I played of Radical Heights before Boss Key went under but I'm not interested in buying PUBG and I'm not installing the Epic launcher, so Fortnite's out too. TheMightyEthan
PCGW is great for common issues, but when I have weirdly specific bugs with games Google searches frequently lead me to the Steam forums for the solutions.

MetalCaveman
https://blog.discordapp.com/why-not-90-10-3761ebef4eab Discord opening their store for self-publishing, with a 90-10 split. Something I haven't seen is whether any of these new stores are DRM free or if you're tied to their launcher/service.
Mal
For those that still care. On another note... so many games to get through.
CorgiShinobi
I didn't even get through RDR2 before I picked up Smash Ultimate. Granted I know what happens because the constant barrage of spoilers on YouTube. So good luck out there. I know it's been years that anyone who cares will want to see how Ansem, I mean Xemnas, I mean Xehanort, no wait I meant Master Xehanort's ultimate plan comes about. No, perhaps it's the Master of Masters all along and his mysterious box left to Luxu and anyone who inherited No Name with the Gazing Eye! It'll all make complete sense I imagine. TheMightyEthan
Apparently that dude who stole the KH3 copies listed them on Facebook marketplace under his real name...
CorgiShinobi
I'm slightly tempted to purchase a PlayStation Classic as it's now reduced to $60 (and maybe even less with store specific deals) and people have hacked the device to run a larger gamut of PS1 classics. Still might be more effort for what amounts to a novelty and if I would even bother playing the older games when I have newer games sitting on my shelf. Mister Jack
I'd wait, personally. The hacking is still a work in progress and I'm willing to bet they'll slash the price even more before too long.
TheMightyEthan
And the emulator in the PS Classic isn't very good from what I've heard, you're better off emulating on PC.
