Alex Heat
For me, it's also a way to make sure I still remember how to use Photoshop (since I don't use it too often anymore).
Strangelove
Aside from laziness or maybe indifference, is there really a good reason for developers/publishers not to port their PS3/360 games to the PS4/One from here on out? Im not talking about older games, I mean current ones. You could port the new Blazblue or South Park: Stick of Truth as is to the PS4 and it would sell. People wouldnt expect more frames or better textures because those games are made to look the way that they look. They cant look any better. Aside from the actual port job, youd have to do no additional work. I just dont get it. If stuff like Sound Shapes and Fez can be ported so quickly, i figure publishers with a bigger budget could do it almost instantly. Im not sure why they wont. Theres money to be made here. Some people sold their old console and some just want to use the new hardware.
TheMightyEthan
I think for Stick of Truth people would expect more frames, but mainly because I've heard it has performance issues on PS360.
Strangelove
Seriously? The cartoon is like 5 frames or something.
TheMightyEthan
Not the character animations, like background scrolling and stuff.

If they can cut their development times/budgets to be more in line with the sales you can expect from this sort of game nowadays then they are filling a role which is not being well served at the moment and there is no reason they shouldn't be successful. I certainly hope they are as we need as much diversity in the medium as possible, things are getting much too homogenised as companies (feel the) need to be more and more conservative. We really, REALLY do. Although it seems like the tide of military shooters might actually be subsiding somewhat. Mal
http://www.secretsofgrindea.com/ This game is something to keep in mind. It potentially has the foundations of a solid game. Try the demo and see if you agree. In any case, I would sit and wait for this one.

Mister Jack
Sony has decided to eliminate individual subscription fees for their MMO games. Instead, one subscription will pay for all MMO games under their umbrella in one unified account. I personally think this is a fantastic idea and actually offers real incentive to subscribe, and I'm a guy who abhors subscription fees for MMOs. TheFlyingGerbil
which MMOs are Sony MMOs? Are any of them ones that people want to play?
Mister Jack
DC Universe, Everquest Next, and Planetside 2 come to mind, although Planetside isn't technically an MMO it does offer a subscription.
TheFlyingGerbil
I guess I don't keep up with the world of MMOs, as I would never subscribe to a game no matter how cheap - PS Plus stresses me out enough. Last I read was a few years ago they shut down an everquest game and I thought they had stopped doing subscription games entirely. Must have mis-remembered. but anyway it seems like a good idea to me, the better the perception of value for the customer the more likely they are to subscribe - even if they only end up playing one of the games in the long term so they aren't technically saving money. deanb
I think the single SOE sub has been in the pipeline for a while, and certainly makes sense. It opens up a bit more fluidity amongst their games and makes a subscription more reasonable in an age where more and more MMOs are F2P. Strangelove
So yesterday I installed the homebrew channel on my Wii U after god knows how many hours(Its easy enough to do, but there is a lot of room for failures). I just felt like playing some old Wii games, anyways I started at around 3PM and didnt finish til almost 10pm. So after hacking it, downloading programs and wii isos, it turns out my Wii nunchuk doesnt work. I bought it last year and had never used it til yesterday. Instead of getting angry, I just felt defeated. The bad part is that it doesnt need to necessarily be the nunchuk, it could be that the wii remote has a bad connection slot. I hope to god not, theyre fucking expensive. Hopefully its the nunchuk.
TheFlyingGerbil
what was it you wanted to play?
Strangelove
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's blasphemy, but its my favorite SH game. Its also on PSN(PSP version), but it's 20 bucks. Im not going to do that. There's so many PSP games on there that have never gone on sale, its ridiculous. I think Parappa is still $25 and Tekken is still $40. Last I checked. toxicitizen
Popular theory is that this is that Duke Nukem game they teased, but turned into something else for legal reasons. All I know for sure is that the devs strongly hinted at Duke Nukem while teasing their project's reveal a little while ago, even had a url along the lines of allouttagum.com or whatever. Then Gearbox made some legal threats. At first, 3D Realms insisted they still had some rights to use Duke but then all of a sudden they kinda backtracked, claimed they never actually said it was Duke Nukem. The url was also changed to nogumneeded.com, which now appears to redirect to the Bombshell website. And now they reveal this. I dunno, I can kinda see how that might've initially been conceived as a Duke Nukem title. Lol. Edited May 16, 2014 by FLD
