deanb
I saw it not being Google, especially with the recent moves Twitch made running counter to most of what Google would have them do (including using a rival audio fingerprinting service). Anywho, Amazon bought out Comixolgy last which meant it changed the distribution system which I know a few fans haven't been happy with. And since Amazon took over LoveFilm they've slowly tried to turn it into Netflix, and hasn't quite worked out (and means I don't use them any more cos the prices went up and the game rental service I used was cut. Didn't find out until I fired a support email asking why it'd taken two weeks for the next rental to go out). Though they do have stuff like IMDB and Audible just ticking along fine. Amazon and Google are no better or worse than the other.

Strangelove
Do any of you have any series of games that you really enjoy, but for some reason dont identify yourself as a fan of that series? Id never say I was a Resident Evil fan, but Ive played pretty much all of them. I always end up playing all the titles in some way or another. It feels like it just sort of happens. I dont think of it as a system seller, I dont get giddy when new trailers come out and I dont die of anticipation on release date either. Ive never preordered an RE game in my life. But I play all of them and I enjoy them thoroughly RE1 and RE4 are easily 2 of the greatest games ever made, RE4 is in my top 10, and I even enjoyed RE6 enough to complete all the story modes. I complained like everyone about how flawed RE5 was, but I still view it as a good game. I talk shit about Revelations, but I still enjoy it as well. And Ill probably play Revelations 2 as well. I still dont fee like an RE fan though. Not in the way that Id say I was an MGS, Mario or Uncharted fan.
TheMightyEthan
I wouldn't call myself an Uncharted fan, even though I've enjoyed all of them. I also wouldn't have called myself an Infamous fan until Second Son. I feel like to call yourself an actual fan requires some level of involvement/attachment above and beyond just enjoying them. Hot Heart
Yeah, with most franchises I wouldn't say I'm a 'fan' but I've played a few games in the series. Same as Ethan, as well as with Gears of War, GTA, LittleBigPlanet, Final Fantasy...
Saturnine Tenshi
Same here. I'm not a fan of most franchises I happen to enjoy.
Mal
TB's ramble about the shitstorm that is the last few weeks (GamersGate). So what do you guys want out of game media? I more or less just look for "WTF is...". I personally like TB going through the option menu. It to me is going under the hood, so to speak, of the game. He might uncover some issue that might affect someone (e.g., FOV, resolution options, colorblind mode). They don't personally affect me but I like that it is there. TB also sports a beefy tower so it would be a good benchmark on how well the game runs (e.g., He shouldn't have any major issues like major frame rate drops). So as a PC gamer, TB is a pretty good game media person to look into. I point to his recent Dead Rising 3 videos for examples. He did a WTF is and another video regarding framerate problems if (He is pretty positive otherwise) the player want to go 60 fps and what can go wrong (and why it is wrong that things goes wrong at 60 fps). I honestly don't care about commentary about a vast majority of stuff (e.g., how the characters are designed, female characters). I only really care on how well the game runs and did (and how) the dev deliver on their promises. edit: I lied. I actually also care about dev working conditions and dev and publisher relationships. Now those are interesting thing to look into and see how to improve (especially dev working conditions). TheFlyingGerbil
Below are some online games someone picked from a master list of spooky games, short films, art etc. The following games include suspense, flashing pictures and ominous music. Not recommended for those with severe anxiety. Do you have a grudge?: based on the Grudge movie. You basically walk around the house and get to explore it, click on certain parts and you’ll see flickering shadows and long dark hair. Purgatorium: a short and creepy point-and-click escape-the-room game with some rather horrific graphic visuals nestled inside. If you are having problems going through the game just google “Purgatorium walk throughs” and that should help. Exmortis: graphic images, flashing pictures, begins with you waking up in the woods with a lump on your head and unable to recall how you got there. All you recall are the dreams. You’ll see a house up ahead and decide that shelter there is better than freezing to death in the woods. Think of the house at the end of Blair Witch and you’ll be right at home. Hero’s Adventures: If you wanna take a break from the serious horror themes of the above games, here’s a cute little game made pokemon style. Mild horror themes, no graphics, short little game. Slenderman game: Everyone was going crazy over this game back in the days. It is a short, experimental horror game in which you must travel into a dark woods at night, with a simple goal: find 8 pages that are scattered across the woods. There’s just one catch, he might get ya if your not careful. You must download this game to your computer (no charge) Ao Oni: Japanese survival horror game. Although each version differs heavily from the others, the objective is always the same. Locked in a mansion, you explore and solve puzzles while running from an enigmatic demon. You must download this game. Zombie games: This site has a bunch of games where you have to shoot zombies before they get to you. Each game has it’s own story. No terrible graphics. Suitable for kids. Think of it as a break from all the other heavy creepy ones. Red Asylum: Another interactive haunted house game, where you must try to find your way out Deep Sleep: You are stuck inside a nightmare dream. Something lurks in the darkness. Something in the depths of your own mind wants to pull you even deeper. Someone will escape this dream for sure. The question is - who is that going to be? Pretty sweet game. If you are stuck here are some walkthroughs SCP- Containment Breach: puts you in a ‘containment facility’, which is holding a strange and unnerving entity called SCP-173, a sculpture monster that can only move when not in direct line of sight. When unseen, it is extremely hostile and dangerous. You can watch a trailer of it here to get a good idea of the game. You must also download this game to your computer. Had a click through a couple and they're pretty creepy!

Mister Jack
Okay, I really like the whole "start playing a game before it finishes downloading" feature that's become a thing in the last year or so, but there needs to be some consistency here. While reinstalling all my PS4 games onto my hard drive, the download list in the main menu will say it's finished, except it's not finished. It's just "here's a certain amount we dictate the game will be playable at." The problem is, I can't tell just how much of the game is playable from that. Injustice has the story mode installed once the bar is full, which is fine, but Plants vs. Zombies has nothing but a glorified tutorial when the game hits 60%. What I'd like to see is the download bars marked with segments or something so you can see at which percentage the game will be playable and still know how much you have to go. If the download page came with information listing which parts of the game are accessible at which points in the download, that would be even better.
deanb
http://youtu.be/Tv7RqnT0_Wo http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2015/01/pokemon-plays-twitch-how-a-robot-got-irc-running-on-an-unmodified-snes/ So this is pretty cool. As part of AGDQ a team used a bot to play Pokémon Red on Super Gameboy to exploit it and eventually get it running Twitch Chat. (yes it's not running it per-se and more like a screen output, but doesn't diminish what it's doing) . I somewhat understand stuff like the rare candy cheat and how that works, but this seems so much in a different ball game.

Guess I better pay up for a Sky email address... PS ignore the random name I seriously lurk on there like 1-2 hours a day, it's fucking great and I'm keen to join. I never have nothing to say and don't want to be inundating every PXoD thread with replies! As I probably do already... Mal
I only waited for like 2 or 3 months. Anyways, it's a silly place but it is neat to interact with some devs and publishers every so often (XSEED folks comes to mind).
