Yeah, it's really good. What platform are you on, Hottie? PC side here. Would be good to hook up, but I imagine you're on PS4?

I'm only lvl 16/17, been taking my sweet time and eking it out, because I know if I hit 30 and there's nothing else to do, I'll be frustrated.

Super excited at the prospect of the later-year DLC where the entire map gets turned into Dark Zone...

Main missions on Hard with three other people is amazing - legit better than anything I played in Destiny and often even better than most fights I had in Diablo 2/3.

Yeah, I'm on PS4.

I need to try the challenging missions (the hard ones, at level 30, are very easy) but one of our team is lagging behind a bit in terms of gear and skills. Those seem like the only mode where teamwork is absolutely necessary. I'm yet to see anything matching Destiny raids.

There are a lot of niggling issues I have like with how generally useless the DPS stat actually is, or how you have to remove mods and replace them to get accurate comparisons between weapons (I'm sure personal preference will come with time though). On top of that, the servers are still shit so I've been killed by lag or even dropped out of activities, and on more than one occasion I've been booted then put into a queue to reconnect.

Plus, I'm still annoyed about an incident where AI enemies randomly spawned in and shotgunned me in the back in the Dark Zone as well.

The min-maxing also looks like an arduous process because there's way too much variability in armour values, etc. with increasing recalibration costs.

The story's not up to much either and I don't see a long-term potential for keeping things interesting, although, obviously I hope I'm wrong. It's early days.

Yeah, it's a really weird beast.

It has this strange thing where it is trying to justify its concept and gameplay but totally acknowledges that the whole thing is fucked up. I mean, the only available radio station is some guy ranting about how shady The Division is and there's subtle shades of something not right going on. Maybe there's a future rug pull planned, but it seems content to have a PMC as the main villains for now so at least there's someone actually bad.

Gameplay-wise, I think the update was a really good change. The flow of both phoenix credits and high-end drops is enough to keep you working away on different builds, etc. and putting the emphasis on shooting things. The nerf to crafting wasn't actually quite as extreme as originally (and officially) touted but it's balanced right so you can still have another roll of that blueprint you have every now and then if you want to try and get something better.

I'm well chuffed with a few things I picked up and crafted as well as some drops that helped me get the stat setup I need to get the most out of weapon perks. I think the rest of my team is lagging a little behind though...

That's one good thing about this kind of quasi-mmo structure, even if the unfortunate implications were unintended they can completely turn it on its head in a later update and then go "yeah, we planned that all along" when it blows everyone's mind.

Yeah, I don't know if anything is planned but there are too many indicators that the development team is not completely ignorant of things. Once you've cleared the story there's an ECHO left by the main villain who says...

Semi-spoilery

"Normally, I'd do this face-to-face but I'm not one hundred percent sure which way you'll jump. You act one way when Ms. Lau is watching and another way entirely when you're off the leash. That's an interesting contradiction."

And another bunch of stuff about how the rules don't really apply anymore. But that could just be crazy villain talk.
