TCP
Curious as to the results of this poll. I suspect I know the answer for the first question, the second will be more interesting. Waldorf and Statler
I'm definitely getting the PS4. But as an unemployed college student I can't afford 400 by myself. I'll probably ask my folks to help me w/ $200 for my birthday early january and I'll put in the rest.
Mal
Not at launch. After the freezing and shit for BOTH consoles. I'm wary of RRoD-esk problem making an appearance again. Â Also it be sweet if I can wait for a MGSV edition or something. Edited June 11, 2013 by MaliciousH
Mister Jack
PS4 all the way for me. Â It's not even a decision at this point.
Strangelove
The PS4 is going to be the first system I ever buy at launch, mostly because of Infamous and Killzone. Also that I will hopefully have the money for it.
TheFlyingGerbil
Definitely PS4. I've got so many current gen games to get through I know if I buy it at launch they will all get abandoned, so even though I am tempted to buy it straight away (and there is certainly a reasonable chance I will crumble in my resolve) I plan to wait for the slim version and exhaust the current gen first. deanb
Ermm..PC? As much as the PS4 is hitting a neat price point and kicking Xbone butt, a new PC is still top priority for me. Also buying electronics at launch is nuts.
Mr. GOH!
Neither. Buying consoles at launch is a sucker move. Sticking with PC until 2015 at least. Besides, none of the exclusives look all that compelling on either side.
TheMightyEthan
The only game that makes me want a console at all is Destiny, and that's not coming out until sometime in 2014. Â I'm somewhat interested in Second Son and the next Quantic Dream game (and even that won't be out for a couple years), but everything else I'm interested in is coming out on PC.
madbassman39
One thing we have to remember, its all about third party support, and looking at the previous actions of Activision, Ubisoft, and EA, they probably are leaning more towards DRM on consoles. If they chose to favor the Xbox over the PS4 because of its built in DRM then the Xbox could turn it around with better third party support. Eleven
Suspend mode is 1 good reason to buy a PS4, or an Xbox, I heard they have a similar thing. Â When I get home, I want to get back into my game at once! Or when I need to quickly run an errand. It's not required or a very requested feature, but it's 1 thing I definitely love on my portables. Â Especially with loading times on the PS3. or trying to boot up steam on my PC connected to the TV. Â I do not want to wait! Â Laundry and chores can wait though. Â Also my backlog can wait. Screw that.
MetalCaveman
I'll get the PS4, just don't know when, since most of the games I'm interested in are also going to be on PC.
TheMightyEthan
Suspend is actually a negative in my mind*. Â I don't want my shit sitting there using power even when I'm not using it, shining its little lights at me. Â I want my shit to fucking turn OFF. Â *Assuming there's no off option short of unplugging it, we've received conflicting info on that front.
Eleven
Starting from the Slim, PS3s have no power switch anymore. You need to unplug it. Â Automatic updates and downloads and cloud save uploads (or I think the game does this on its own i don't remember), benefits you get from PS+, also don't work if unplugged, obviously. I don't want my shit always on too but I can make exceptions, especially when the benefit is obvious. Like how I turn off my PC when not in use, but I keep my Apple TV always plugged-in. Hot Heart
'At this point, which question are you most likely to buy at launch?' Huh? Â 'Will you buy a next gen console at launch?' Waldorf and Statler
^yeah. I'm waiting for 2014, besides my birthday, because Destiny and Infamous aren't slated till early 2014.

YOU KNOW HOT HEART, IT WAS A LONG DAY, I WAS TIRED, AND PUMPED UP ON SONY FANBOY ADRENALINE YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND STOP CRITICIZING ME!!!!!!! Poll is edited, sorry everyone. What I meant was, which console are you most likely to buy FIRST and will you buy a console (one, both, or none) at launch.

WTF
Launch. PS4. Â I'll get a Bone probably after they change a few things when they see sales decline. They can't be that stubborn they're a business with a product cycle of 10 years unlike the case with Windows and their server products. TheMightyEthan
Starting from the Slim, PS3s have no power switch anymore. You need to unplug it. My slim PS3 turns off more fully than they're acting like the PS4 does. Â But you're right it's not all the way off, it has the ability to turn itself on in the middle of the night to auto-download, for instance. Saturnine Tenshi
PS4, but not at launch. Buying at launch is silly. Plus, there aren't any titles that have been announced that I really care for.
FredEffinChopin
PS4, without a doubt. I know it's not on the poll, but if the Wii hits the $200-250 range, I might even snag one of those at some point in time if there is enough quality exclusive content.  I'm not getting it at launch. I just spent a bunch on a new PC, and while I can't say I've never boldly spent in the face of mounting debt before, I have SO many games in my queue right now that I can't possibly justify buying another console this year. Probably late 2014 at earliest.  A part of me really wants to support them at launch though, despite the potential dangers involved... I feel like they have been paying attention to what gamers want, rather than telling gamers what they're going to have to deal with if they want to play games, and I think that should be rewarded. I'm sure they will be though.
