TheFlyingGerbil
LP, do you draw men? I'm too lazy to look through 12 pages but I can't recall any. If that's true is there any reason for it? Are the characters you do draw part of a story/world you have in your head.
Little Pirate
I can draw men, but it's a lot harder for me than drawing women. I should start kicking myself to draw guys now and then. As far as story worlds I do create backstories for the people I draw, but I never really had any reason to put that to use.

CorgiShinobi
Women are far better looking than men anyway. It's like in Seinfeld when Elaine is explaining to Jerry how women are artful, beautiful figures, but men are like hairy apes. At least something along those lines because for the life of me I can't remember the rest of the episode.

Little Pirate
Thinking of putting something with a lot of effort again, drew up a concept sketch of what I'm hoping to have done.

Little Pirate
Yay more drawing people in my posse~! And he has a Shounen Bat avatar, too. I took a moment to check your website, love the cyborg/robot in particular. Do you draw stuff for a living?
pocoGRANDE
thanks LittlePirate! i am a recent graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies. i'd absolutely love to draw for a living but it seems like it's gonna be a long time before that's feasible. right now i'm actually much more focused on comic writing (the android character you noticed is from an upcoming comic i'm working on with a friend), but i do draw every day in my sketchbook. and maybe once a month i'll like something enough to put it on the internet... maaaybe. i should also mention that most of the stuff on that page i linked to is old. i used to be exclusively a pencil artist, but i'm trying to branch out more. hence the Bob's Burgers fan art. i've been working my way through the back of this thread and see you all over it. i like your stuff! what kind of tools are you using? Johnny
I'd join if I could... you know... draw. I tried to draw an arrow yesterday. It ended up... Well, not looking like anything particular, but especially not an arrow. My hands get super-shaky when I try to draw.
Kau_Kau
I really liked the work I've seen in this thread so far and have decided to post my own meager sketches and drawings. I'd join if I could... you know... draw. I tried to draw an arrow yesterday. It ended up... Well, not looking like anything particular, but especially not an arrow. My hands get super-shaky when I try to draw. My hands have always been shaky and it sometimes makes me crazy trying to do clean lines but Adobe Illustrator does help with that.
Popular Post Strangelove
I draw weird stuff to try to mask my lack of actual skill. By all logic I should be embarrassed of most of this. Meh. I drew this cat thing a few months ago, otherwise the rest of this stuff is years old. I just dont draw or paint anymore. These are years old. I used to be obsessed with putting hearts everywhere. Cus im emo like that. I also had a really shitty camera back then and I used to mess around with them to add all sorts of weird colors and stuff so it could hide the fact that they were low res photos. It fooled no one. This is me completely and utterly trying to rip off Burton. I apologize for nothing. This is from when I used to be a barista at an unnamed defunct franchise coffee shop. I also like to draw/paint/eat rabbits. Edited July 3, 2012 by Strangelove
Popular Post pocoGRANDE
@Kau_Kau, @Strangelove: technical skills are great and everything but it's better to have a passion and desire to draw. obviously it's best to have both, but you can get by with either one independently. personally i prefer the passionate. here's one of my favorite drawings from a comics anthology i worked on, Funny Aminals 2. Buddhacat. i'll try to keep posting stuff. everyone else should keep it coming too!

Perhaps you've heard of it before?
Little Pirate
Heeee~. So happy to see more people posting in here. And to answer your question I mainly use Sai Paint and Photoshop along with my very old and beat up tablet. I don't have much for schooling (aside from high school art class) in arts so I'm mostly self taught. I try to paste good tutorials for photoshop in here when I find them, so if you come across any feel free to post them in here! Great job Kau and Strangelove, keep it up!
