Eleven
I'd join if I could... you know... draw. I tried to draw an arrow yesterday. It ended up... Well, not looking like anything particular, but especially not an arrow. My hands get super-shaky when I try to draw. I just find this post especially funny because it actually happens to me a lot. You can draw arrows with three lines, but I want my arrows to have triangles at the end. I always mess it up and it never points to where I want it to point... pocoGRANDE
Interesting juxtaposition you have there with the Buddhacat. There's an old tale about the origin of cats in paintings of Buddhas. Perhaps you've heard of it before? i actually have not heard that, though i'm always curious about that kind of stuff. can you paraphrase, or do you have a link? it was a bit more personal for me, a family friend when i was growing up was a Buddhist and i always loved going to her house because she had tons of animals there. at least 10 cats, several dogs, a whole wall of her living room devoted to a giant birdcage, a tank full of fish, you name it. i sent her the original drawing as a gift. Kau_Kau
can you paraphrase, or do you have a link? It's been quite sometime since I've read the story so my memory of it may be quite different from the actual tale. With that said the story is a Japanese Folk tale that centers around a poor artist who is commisioned to paint a Buddha for a temple, which also happens to be haunted by a demon rat. Fortunately for the painter there is also a cat. How it happens to be there or why is forgotten to me. As a result the artist would hide cats within his paintings of Buddhas. Prior to that cats weren't placed in paintings because they were believed to be evil. At least that's how I remember it.
Kau_Kau
quick sketchwork done a couple of days ago. I printed it for the heck of it and put it right next to a serene painting of happy little trees that I painted as a result of watching a Bob Ross instructional on PBS a couple of months ago. Popular Post Papu
I'm back Here is some stuff I've done in the last couple of months NSFW The first one was done for a school project and I'm quite pleased with it. The second one is a wip of a Shadow of the colossus painting that I will propably never continue, because I just couldn't find a way to make it work. The third one is just a random painting that I did.
Popular Post Papu
And a couple more paintings. I wanted to practise how to paint skin and clothing and stuff. I used a reference for these. The first one is the model who did motioncap for Madison Paige in Heavy Rain. The second is Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men, played by Javier Bardem. Little Pirate
You're extremely talented Papu, my drawings don't look good enough to slap on the fridge in comparison.
Popular Post Little Pirate
Sorry for the terrible quality, I don't have a proper scanner so it was just a plain old camera. Got into some sketching last night.

The Whimsicotts were drawn on the 3DS' Swapnote anyway, but I should try to post a little more! I'm stunned to see so many talented peeps other than LittlePirate post their creations! MasterDex
I don't do much drawing myself these days but I should set-up my printer some day and throw up some of my stuff from years ago, it's not very good though. I'll also echo Advent's sentiment. This thread always brightens my day a little. Edited July 27, 2012 by MasterDex
