TCP
Sony's most charming, and, coincidentally, most British studio, Media Molecule, are releasing their first handheld game, Tearaway. Release Date: November 22nd in Canada (+US too). Platform: Playstation Vita Available retail and digital Discuss how charming it is here!! deanb
Was LBP for PSP not made by them? Anywho here is a trailer, in case you wondered what it was like (seemingly not like AC)
TheMightyEthan
No, it was made by Cambridge Studio "in conjunction with" Media Molecule. LBP Vita was made by Double Eleven, Tarsier Studios and XDev.
Saturnine Tenshi
Too bad it's on a system that matters only slightly more than the WiiU! HO HO HO! But really, it looked interesting when they announced it, and it still does. I'm not sure why they're releasing it in the US, though. Should be Canada-only. danielpholt
One of the few reasons why my Vita is still my Vita. Shame its been pushed back, but it'll give me a chance to play through some other games first. Maybe a Christmas present if i'm a good boy. TCP
I thought they had developed the PSP game, but they said in the PSBlog post that this is their first portable game. Fun fact: the best LittleBigPlanet game isn't even developed by MM, it's developed by Double Eleven. Though that's not to say LBP2 isn't absolutely amazing. Too bad it's on a system that matters only slightly more than the WiiU! HO HO HO! But really, it looked interesting when they announced it, and it still does. I'm not sure why they're releasing it in the US, though. Should be Canada-only. Hey, the OP, did write in brackets +US for the November 22nd release date. Maybe he's sick of everything being "coming out ____ ____ in the US" and no mention that things also come out on the same date in Canada. MAYBE HE'S TRYING TO EVEN THINGS OUT A BIT!?!?!! Saturnine Tenshi
Check your privilege, Americans.
TheMightyEthan
Isn't it standard to give release dates for "North America" or "NA", rather than the US specifically? Obviously that refers to both Canada and the US (does it also include Mexico? I know geographically they're North American but I don't know how companies treat it). TCP
It's true, Ethan. Usually companies use "North America" but fairly often they'll just use "US" for when something that's being released in Canada too. Just today I looked up the release date for The Worlds End and it was listed as a "US" release date, but obviously, the same in Canada. It's like they assume we're part of the US. But we're not. We're slightly different, dammit!!!
TheFlyingGerbil
hmmm, this is quite the surprise for me - I thought it was out this week for some reason? No idea how I got that idea in my head. So seeing it is the end of the year now is a bit of a downer, but since it seems to only be £20 most places it may make a good Christmas present idea when my brother inevitably asks me what I want. TheMightyEthan
It just got delayed from September to November, but either way that's not this week.
danielpholt
So how does everyone feel about Tearaway? I adored it from start to finish. I had a few niggles with playing in a dark room (the Vita's camera doesn't like anything that's not bright sunlight), but aside from that i thought it was well worth the wait. Without a doubt one of my favourite games of the year, and a game i don't think could be played on any other console.
toxicitizen
You know, I wasn't sure about Tearaway but this trailer just sold me on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK93bHUhSoc Seriously, though. What the fuck is wrong with Japan?
TCP
One of my favourite things about Tearaway was when you got to put your own creations in the game. Here's an elk with my dog's fur.
TheMightyEthan
I made a moose out of a picture of our Christmas tree. It looked like one of those Hubble photos. It was pretty cool. For the rest of the game I had space moose all over the place.
TCP
Platinumed! Pretty easy except in the last level, The Tear, on the rolly sections, there's a path that goes left that has some confetti and it's almost impossible to roll through it without falling off.
danielpholt
Quick question, has anyone actually made any paper craft models yet? I'd love to give it a go in the future.
TCP
I don't have a printer otherwise I'd give it a go.
