danielpholt
Has anyone had a chance to take a look at the demo? Just spent 30 or so minutes on it myself, and whilst I still plan on picking it up, the demo has me a little worried. Granted, that might be because its a bad demo, but I spent the entire 30 minutes confused and a little daunted by what was going on on screen. Again, its only the demo, but if i wasn't already planning on picking it up, i doubt the demo would do it any favours. So yeah, anyone? TheFlyingGerbil
I plan on getting it at some point. The fact that I've not remembered to even have a go of the demo can't be a good omen. I couldn't put my finger on why I'm not that excited by it as on paper it sounds like a lot of fun, but non of the videos I've seen of it have really drawn me in. TheRevanchist
I saw this video at GS last week and I thought it looked insanely fun. A couple of reviews call it fun, but the controls have some issues. It's the first game I saw that made me even think about getting a WiiU. At certain points you'll have to draw on the Wii U Gamepad screen, and the only way to do this effectively is to remove at least one hand from the controller. Its not really that practically. It works, but i can certainly see why someone might have trouble with it.

Mr. GOH!
The Wonderful 101 flopped in Japan, apparently. http://kotaku.com/sales-of-the-wonderful-101-in-japan-are-not-very-wonder-1255660729 Interesting to see how it will do in North America. TCP
My prediction: flop.
FMW
Of course this is gonna be a flop. It's a Japanese action game (niche), it's a new IP (never a good idea), it's from Platinum games (the most acclaimed flop maker in the industry), and it's exclusive to a console with a tiny install base. I mean, did anyone ever entertain the possibility of this NOT being a flop? I didn't.
Strangelove
Yeah. Even Im not getting it and I have a Wii U and I like Platinum games. This one just isn't doing anything for me. Maybe once it's $20. Is anyone here getting it?
TheMightyEthan
From the very first trailer I've never seen the appeal.
Faiblesse Des Sens
It looks fun to me. My friend picked it up at PAX. I wonder if he's played it yet.
Mr. GOH!
FMW: Are Japanese action games as much of a niche in Japan as they are here? I mean, yeah, I kinda figure any Wii U game will be a flop, or at least post disappointing sales figures from Nintendo's perspective. FMW
Not AS niche, but it's still not so large that many publishers are feeling the need to get in on that action. I mean, Capcom rebooted DmC for the West and it didn't do great in Japan, Wonderful 101 is a flop, and SEGA wouldn't fund Bayonetta 2 even for Xbox/Playstation. It wouldn't have been made at all except that Nintendo was feeling pressure to waste money for some hardcore gamer cred (pro tip: don't even bother). The only other recent genre entry I can think of is El Shaddai, and that was ALSO a flop.
TheMightyEthan
Japanese games are just too weird
Faiblesse Des Sens
and SEGA wouldn't fund Bayonetta 2 even for Xbox/Playstation. [citation needed] Doesn't Platinum have a second party exclusivity deal with Nintendo for the time being?
FMW
Negative. Platinum is still free to make any game with any publisher. Nintendo picked them for Wonderful 101, and at around the same time SEGA dropped Bayonetta 2 and since they were already working on something together Platinum ran it by Nintendo and they picked it up. And once both those games flop Platinum will be back to self publishing or whoring themselves out to other publishers. Because both games WILL be flops, and Nintendo will wisely move on just like every other publisher that's worked with Platinum. We know SEGA passed on Bayonetta 2 because they had exclusive first dibs on the IP. That it was originally pitched for competing hardware is pure speculation on my part... but I feel like that's a pretty safe bet.
CorgiShinobi
I want to get this game eventually, just it's not a system seller. I always thought it looked interesting and the "Viewtiful Joe"-like attributes are probably what has me more interested than anything. CorgiShinobi
Actually, a few days ago I got this game because it's been $24 for a long time. Still have other games to finish up first before I dive into this one, but its Platinum. IT'S GONNA BE GOOD.
