Damn, that might be the best Marvel film yet.

Falcon was great, I definitely hope he appears in Age of Ultron. They name dropped Doctor Strange and Luke Charles who is T'Challa the Black Panther. Also a high school valedictorian in Iowa City? Not sure who that could be. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver at the end were also great. I missed the last end credits scene, but I understand that it's Bucky walking through the museum learning about him and Cap.

Ethan, it's a ranking of the Marvel films, from best to worst. Iron Man 3, for instance, is not only a great super hero movie, but a great movie in general so it deserves the third spot. 4-7 are kind of interchangeable though, as they're all close in greatness.

Sooo, Captain America 2...

...ummm, what's going to be happening with Agents of SHIELD now? Will it become Hydra Hunters (perhaps Head Hunters!)? :P

Actually events from this movie have already been referenced (albeit very obliquely) in Agents of Shield. There was talk in the show of damage to the triskelion, Fitz mentioning how repairs have finally been completed, and Director Fury has been missing for like 6 or 8 weeks, which I assume to be related to his "death". Shield isn't gone, just dealt a serious blow.

Ethan, I could slap you.

Last week's SHIELD episode takes place immediately BEFORE Winter Soldier and this week's will take place at the same time. That's the reason Jasper Sitwell was still alive in last week's SHIELD, and if you recall he left the episode part way through because Agent Hand sent him to that boat, where he is at the beginning of TWS. Nick Fury was just "off the grid", and now we can assume it was because he was digging into this HYDRA business.

In answer to Hot Heart:

There was some speculation that the show could be rebranded, maybe something like Secret Avengers, which, sure would be the fucking tits, but I doubt ABC would rebrand a show in it's second season.

Actually there was this quote from IGN the show's producers on IGN, I'll spoiler tag it too:

Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen tells USA Today, "Survival is a huge part of it. There is no more tapping into big S.H.I.E.L.D. through the holo-comm. The guns you have on the plane are the guns you have. They're basically left with the bare minimum." The full article gave me the sense that SHIELD will live on but it'll be pretty bare bones for the foreseeable future.

Fuck I'm retarded, I completely forgot

that Sitwell was in the last episode.

There goes my theory.

Funny you should say that, because I recall watching a video where someone was asking actors on the red carpet at the Cap 2 premiere which comics they'd recommend new readers start with.

When Clark Gregg was approached, there was a follow-up question about getting an idea of where the show/MCU is headed and he answered with something like, "Secret Avengers. That's all I'm gonna say." So, either he's aware of the rumours and just trolling by feeding the fire or it could be for real.

I mean, that could be a good idea to rebrand the show and shake things up every few years so it can fit into the current landscape of the Marvel universe. It would be a ballsy, and potentially confusing move to change the name of a show but I could see Marvel doing it. Plus having Avengers in the title would do wonders.

Classic Hot Heart zinger!!!

And yeah, it's not bad like Iron Man 2 but it's just an all around boring film that doesn't really do anything for the MCU or Bruce Banner. It's not overly memorable. I'd love to see Marvel give Banner/Hulk another shot at a solo film with Mark Ruffalo but their plate seems pretty full with Avengers 2, Ant-Man in 2015, and Cap 3 in 2016 with Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther all in various stages of production. Plus inevitable Iron Man and Thor sequels. And that always talked about Black Widow movie. PLUS... Avengers 3 in 2018 probably. Unless they start going for 3 films a year...

It's gonna become like the comic books and they'll have a movie for every character coming out every year, one a month between all of them.

*Edit* - Also, Dean, you really should start watching Agents of Shield again.  It really picked up after the mid-season break.
