Hot Heart
So, if you recall before the release of Winter Soldier, there was some marketing-related thing (in the UK at least) where people were voting on what TV show should be included on Captain America's 'To Do List'. This was part of the cinematic release's region-specific variations on his 'must see' suggestions. Turns out that the home release doesn't have these at all. It's probably unintentional/thoughtlessness *cough*UKblu-rayofAvengers*cough*, but it's a good thing in this case, since the UK one was just dumb/illogical (World Cup '66 and Sherlock? Seriously?!) TheMightyEthan
What was the thoughtless change in the Avengers bluray?
Hot Heart
If I recall, the Australian version (heavy on censorship) got put on the UK/EU release so when Coulson's stabbed the spear doesn't actually go through or show any blood (minor, but shows lack of care). Then there's the fact that it's missing a bunch of extras like the commentary and stuff.

I think I saw like 8-9 different versions of that list online. Australia, UK, Japan, China, France, Germany etc etc. It's a shame they didn't package it in, but I doubt many will notice that it's missing, if they noticed the list at all. Hot Heart
Yeah, I included those in that link. It's just that I was only aware of it being part of a contest for the UK, where people voted for a TV programme from a clearly US-chosen shortlist (and the worst one won). EDIT: Movies! deanb
I'm not sure on the direction Avengers 2 or the Hawkeye Initiative is taking.

TCP
Jesus christ. Marvel Studios, man. Remember when fucking X-men 2 was the pinnacle of superhero movies? After Winter Soldier and Guardians, I've had a lot of faith in them, and this trailer justifies that. And it doesn't even have the witty Whedon banter! I am now more excited for the Hulk vs Hulkbuster scene than I am for the entirety of Batman vs Superman. Mister Jack
Couldn't have said it better myself. I actually feel hype again.
Faiblesse Des Sens
All action, no plot, nothing exciting for each individual character. Meh. There will be a better trailer eventually but that didn't do anything for me.
deanb
I don't think teaser trailers are meant to have a plot
madbassman39
I'm just excited that Avengers 1 not only didn't suck, but was really good. I hope Age of Ultron can capture that same success, and the teaser here looks really good so hopefully its great!
Hot Heart
There's a general criticism that Whedon's film direction tends to look "too TV" or flat. This looks like a great deal has improved (I was happy with his directing before anyway; the action is clear and concise). ...soooo, why can't I watch this already?! TheMightyEthan
Too TV or flat? I don't even understand what that means.
Hot Heart
I think the general observation is that it is "over-lit" and flat-looking, where it doesn't feel 'cinematic' compared to most action films. Of course, when it comes to actions scenes, I'd rather have Whedon's clarity, staging, beats and visual storytelling over Michael Bay or some shit like that.
Mr. GOH!
Joss Whedon is not a visual stylist. Very workmanlike framing and cinematography. It's not a bad thing for superhero movies at all.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I don't think teaser trailers are meant to have a plot Teaser trailers aren't 2 minutes long.
deanb
Well that one is. I'll go tell Marvel their teaser trailer is too long. edit: Actually maybe someone should have told them a while ago. Right, I'll get on Marvels case, you can hit up Pixar. Then we'll work our way through the studios until all teaser trailers not only follow the rule of being "the first trailer for a film/game many months in advance" but also not to reach to the 2 minute point.
TCP
Wait you mean to say there isn't some sort of official world-wide teaser trailer governing body that sets the firm rules as to what is or isn't a teaser trailer?!?!
Mr. GOH!
There is. I'm it. And this was a teaser.
Hot Heart
The trailer didn't reveal much solid information. It teased. It was a teaser trailer.
