Forum Rules

This is a video game forum with some other topics covered for good measure. The rules are pretty relaxed, but they're still good to give you an idea of what to do and not to do.

 

Primary Rules

• Don't be an arsehole: The cardinal rule of this forum. We all have opinions, if you disagree with an opinion be nice about it. If anything just calling someone names or stupid is lazy.
• No -phobes or -isms: The members of this forum are composed of folks of all creeds and backgrounds, end of the day we're all gamers.
• No piracy:  You may talk about the impact of piracy in video games but do not facilitate it.
• No nudity/NSFW posts: I can't stop minors coming on here, so no NSFW material on the public boards.

Posting Etiquette

• Search before posting: A relevant thread may already exist.
• Make new threads: If something doesn't already exist then go ahead, make a new thread.
• Keep on-topic: Hey, conversations are tangential, but try not to diverge off too much. If it's considered to be beyond all hope the thread will be split.
• Spoilers: Not everyone plays the game on the first day it is out. Anything launched within 2 years, remember to keep it in spoilers tags.
• Avoid double posts: You remember to add something to your post? Edit it instead of making a new post a minute later.
• Feel free to "necro" threads: If no one has posted in a while don't be scared to reboot a thread.

Disciplinary Action

We hate to do it but if need be we will take action when rules are broken.

Disciplinary action can involve, but is not limited to;

• Suspension of posting for 24hrs
• Suspension of all forum privileges for a week
• A total ban from the forum

If you think someone has broken any of the above rules feel free to use the "Report" button on a post, or contact us via a PM, and give us a heads up.

 

Adverts

Adverts help supply some cash for hosting. If you want to run AdBlock please maybe consider a donation, but we do only run a single advert on the homepage.

 

Commercial Posts

Like most forums just popping in and posting your latest mobile game or youtube channel is pretty much an instant ban and getting added to the central spammer list. However if you message myself or another admin about what you're looking to post about we'll arrange with marking you as an approved commercial poster and then go ahead and promote your product.

 

Legal Stuff

• Forum is based in the US and I believe means subject to US laws including search and seizure by FBI, CIA, NSA, etc so don't post anything you wouldn't want them to know.
• The forum uses Cookies (and occasionally hob nobs) to store data on users logged in and what not.
• oAuth login is supplied through Twitter (of Twitter) and Steam (of Valve)
• Forum uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense.
