    • Definitely
    • When the GOTY is out
    • Depends if it's on sale
    • Maybe one day
    • Probably not.

Still as Rocky said give it a couple of months and a large amount of mods will most likely be created and ported over. It's still Gamebryo under the hood so making mods shouldn't be too hard.

Maybe I missed this earlier, but does this mean the "Creation Engine" (Skyrim's engine) is just an updated Gamebryo? I thought Bethesda created an all new engine for Skyrim.

It's an upgraded, rebranded Gamebryo engine.

What Tenshi said. It's mostly a re-branding. The engine is updated, they'd tweaked some of the plug-in components too. But it's pretty much Gamebryo with enough changes they're taking the opportunity to leave behind the stigma of Gamebryo.

(also iirc the company that makes Gamebryo went under a couple years ago, so chances are Bethesda can't use the name anymore)

A bunch of info on the game, maybe some spoilers. Depends on what you count as a spoiler for a game like Skyrim (We discussed it in chat the other week, and reckoned most of us didn't give two shits on story since it was such a small part of the game, but knowing you can snare and ride dragons would be counted as a spoiler)

Basically it's the video from the other week, but condensed and in HD. I'm beginning to think they're not playing it, but it's a pre-set track of what is going on cos they showed this after E3 on gamespot or something (one of hte US VG shows)

Yeah the soundtrack sounds nice so far... Clearer picture shows for some very nice looking environments and enemies too. It's certainly challenging Bethesda's usual trend of releasing games that look like ass, which is a welcome change...

I like the new magic system and I may be more inclined to create a character better versed in it now. With Oblivion, my characters never specialised in magic because of the horrible way it handled for me, but this looks a lot smoother. On that same route, I like the new UI, everything is a lot less cluttered and neat, though I haven't yet seen a stats screen if I remember correctly..

Yeah I wanted to use magic in Oblivion but it was a bit of a pain. Also Skyrim has splash damage, so even if your fireball misses it should still get them in the splash. (Oblivion had stupidly slow fireballs) So I made a mage, ended up battlemage.

I am wanting them to show off the PC version at some point though. That menu system and constellations n such looks sexy as hell, but looks like it'll get to be a right paid with a mouse.

Yeah, I can't help but notice they're only ever showing it on 360... At Quakecon, Howard got heckled for it and said the PC version would look even better but it's not really the looks I'm worried about. UI wise, I don't think they did a bad job with Fallout, having played it on consoles and PC, but the pip-boy is a fair bit less fancy than those menus.
