madbassman39
gee thanks Dean, now I pre-ordered it from amazon and am playing oblivion!
deanb
I can't play Oblivion It's just a major pain to fuck with the Mods and balance them all out. My housemate had the bright suggestion of "why not use it without" but some mods you just can't leave behind. I just can't be arsed to work out which does what. Really hope Skyrim comes with a proper mod loader. OMM is okay, but an official loader would be much better. Said housemate does have the PS3 version though which I guess I could get back to. I still have its saves. Oh and I added a poll too.
deanb
Skyrim is only just over 2 hours long
RockyRan
Skyrim is only just over 2 hours long Dean, no offense, but that's Kotaku levels of fact twisting That was a competition for speedrunning the main quest. It's in no way an indication of the real length of the game. Besides, completing the main quest in an Elder Scrolls title is like doing 3% of everything there is to do in the game. deanb
Rocky, no offence, but it'd be pretty retarded to think a TES game is anything less than 2 solid days long. (Also I'm pretty sure I covered the whole "main quest line is like nothing of the main game" a while back when we discussed what counts as spoilers)
RockyRan
Speedrunning competition, dean. Speedrunning competition.
deanb
I'm the one who linked the damn article Rocky. In fact I even googled to find the better article (cos the first was Joystiq and all the crappiness that comes with that). I know what it was. I also know he won a pumpkin pie. And he won with FO3 too.
Waldorf and Statler
I'm definitely buying this. Only a few single player games warrant a $60 price tag, and a game with 100+ hours is worth it.
RockyRan
Wait a fucking second. He won a pumpkin pie? Why aren't we talking about that? I demand an answer.
Pirandello
I'm definitely buying this. Only a few single player games warrant a $60 price tag, and a game with 100+ hours is worth it. Let's not forget the mods. Most likely anywhere in between from 10-100 more hours depending on what you choose to install. Personally, I love armor/weapon and quest mods. madbassman39
I won't be playing with the mods... Xbox version.
Pirandello
I won't be playing with the mods... Xbox version. You will be missing out on a lot. Like awesome user-made quests, armor, weapons, accessories, houses, locations... and/or nude mods. Whatever floats the boat.
Waldorf and Statler
I'm playing xbox as well. To be honest, while mods DO add more stuff to the game, it's only a nice addition not a necessity. The game has more than enough as it is. Faiblesse Des Sens
It's a Bethesda game. Mods will be necessary to fix all of the things they botched.
madbassman39
I had Oblivion on my old gaming PC, years ago, and the mods were really awesome. After that computer died and I switched over to laptops for school, I got it on the PS3, and I didn't miss the mods as much as I thought I would. When they are available, there is no other way to play, but when they aren't its actually a pretty good game on its own.

deanb
SKYRIM VIDEO THAT WILL NOT BECOME A MEDIA LINK I'm currently watching, unsure how much new info it brings. It's a GTTV thing so it combines a ton of other games too. edit: just use it as a link. Stupid GT URL structure. Stupid auto-embed. edit2: Success!! Pirandello
I feel sad. The system requirements were released today. Goes to show how long I've gone without upgrading my computer when it can only meet slightly above minimum requirements. RAM and CPU upgrade will be high on my Christmas priority list (most likely RAM. Can you believe that I'm still running on only 2 GBs of RAM? Insane!). deanb
I am somewhat debating having a GPU upgrade. (I'm only on 512mb)
Waldorf and Statler
I don't have to worry since I'm one of the two here buying it on the 360. Sure it won't be as pretty and won't have mods. But HORSE ARMOR DLC. FUCK YA.
deanb
Technically since Yantelope is "probably not" going to buy it, you're the only one getting it on 360. (p.s you guys can see who voted on what or is that a Mod thing?)
Waldorf and Statler
Really? well.....
madbassman39
No, I'm getting it on the 360, so there are still two of us!
