deanb
btw what are we counting as spoilers? Like some quests are procedurally generated so would that matter too much? Will talking about the towns spoil much? Obviously story elements = spoiler, but other stuff I'm unsure. My measuring stick is skewed by the fact I hang out with ben who counts anything more than this as epic spoilers. Oh and in other news the 360 version (which I'm pretty sure is the version given out for reviews) is now leaked and on the webs.
madbassman39
I thought that you may end up with a quest that is identical as someone else, but given by a different NPC. Maybe they are procedurally generated though. I would say that, by chance someone gets a near identical quest, you wouldn't want to spoil the ending. I guess to play it safe, just spoiler tag all of your quests, just incase someone some how ends up with the same quest as you. Plus being that not all quests are procedurally generated, some side quests are specific to NPCs and play out a specific way that I wouldn't know what was exclusive to my game, or some standard side quest
Waldorf and Statler
I would say actual details of quests are spoilers. But map locations [including quest, armor, dragon shout and weapon locations] and anything else that can help you get an advantage for your character is cool, It's the same as sharing information. "If you go to this spot there's a dungeon that has a really sick sword" should be ok. But "You're actually a dragon, what a twist ending!" is not cool. deanb
The music has been ripped: http://forums.ffshri...-gamerip-97779/ MP3 n FLAC Downloading right now. As far as the quests go I have a feeling the procedural ones ("Radiant Story" I think is the name of their system) will stand out a bit from the normal pre-made quests. I think they're more gonna be like the blue quests you get in RDR while walking along (the "convicts have escaped/my wife is kidnapped/stole my horse" types). I was thinking more along the lines of sharing them as the fun and weird ones that may crop up for us. edit: hmm so I'll add this to a spoiler regarding the music: the music isn't set. A lot of it is "palette". so "palette tundra b 02", "palette forest night c 01", "palette mountain day b 04". And they're like 30*40 second long clips. I think there's much more than the quests that are procedural. Seems this will have remixed tunes, make them up on the fly. There's still a bunch of proper 5 minute long clips mind. Mainly in the "town" and "explore" series. For those not wanting the full 600megs worth here's the two I think you want: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2066351/Random%20Files/mus_intro.mp3 http://dl.dropbox.co...s/mus_intro.mp3 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2066351/Random%20Files/mus_maintheme.mp3 http://dl.dropbox.co...s_maintheme.mp3 I have no effin idea how to let you download them. It turns it into a media player every time I put in the URL. edit2: I disabled the auto media-embedding. I'll sort out getting a button put on the main bar. Right click the links and "save as"
Pirandello
I just realized that Skyrim releases on Veterans' Day. Which means that I probably won't be able to play it until the Wednesday after the release. Damn.
Nezacant
At least in the US on Steam it's only 45 cents more expensive than Amazon. Yeah the "It's expensive on Steam" argument doesn't usually apply here in the United States. Sucks that Steam in Europe is so expensive. Didn't they eventually get OBSE working with the Steam version? If not, there goes the best mods out there.
Maritan
Didn't they eventually get OBSE working with the Steam version? If not, there goes the best mods out there. New Vegas Script Extender works with steam, so I guess Skyrim Script Extender won't have any problems with that.

TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I never had any problems getting mods to work with Steam for New Vegas (other than the normal kinds of problems you'd expect mods to cause anyway).
deanb
I've only played Oblivion, so not too huge on the lore n such. But being dragonborn, wouldn't that make you a Septim descendent/heir to the throne? Anyway fairly huge spoiler, but an awesome one. I'd suggest not looking if you want to find out stuff on your own. It's not main quest related though: You can become a werewolf. And image to go with that:
deanb
http://gamingeveryth...is-in/?pid=7039 - a review, gave it 95% And the racial bonuses in handy graph form: I'll probably be Breton or Dunmer. Pirandello
Might be Breton or Imperial. Though, most likely going by my playstyle in Oblivion, I'll be Imperial. Stats be damned, it just means I have to work a little bit harder to get it.

deanb
Fuck yeah this is spoilers. Mostly just panning around various villages n areas. Few spots of talking.Oh and a skill picker thingy http://www.anuconsul...perkpicker.html It's pretty crude though.Oh and a non-confirmed, but heavily speculated due to certain parts of Skyrim: Your character, well at the very least "The champion of Cyrodil" from TESIV is in the game. It's just they're not directly called that, it's another name you can pick up in the TESIV. A name you gain from someone else, along with the ability to be near immortal (and thus able to be in Skyrim 200 years later). And while 2+2 does equal 4, there's still the possibility it's someone else. Sheogarth
Waldorf and Statler
so... I'm curious how they'll hint it's the hero of kvatch considering there was no canon look. This is the reason Bioware made Hawke and Shepard and gave them canon looks so if they are ever needed in other works, we know what they look like. deanb
Well this is an in-game shot. As I said it's not implied (afaik) that it's "hero of Kvatch" n all that, but given within the course of Oblivion(more correctly Shivering Isles) you become Sheogarth, and that means part demi-god/immortal, it's not too much of a leap to figure that this is what has become of Champion of Cyrodil in the meantime, unless in the preceding 200 years the title has been passed on. Waldorf and Statler
I guess. I like the way they are trying to do it, but at the same time I feel that it doesn't work for this series.
WTF
Should get mine tomorrow, though that's only good enough for a preload till Friday 00:00. Steam does cancel out the ability to enjoy games a tiny bit early.
deanb
So last night I did the "Ultimate Heist", here's hoping something in Skyrim can top that. (I also did the party Dark Brotherhood one too, but I'd done that before, the Ultimate Heist kinda topped that a fair bit)
Waldorf and Statler
I'm having such a hard time deciding between an Imperial and a Breton for my first character! ARRRRRRGH I enjoy how Bretons are probably better in magic and have resistance to magic attacks.... But I am making a spell sword and an imperial has decent magic and is handy with heavy armor! ARRRRRRRRRGH
madbassman39
I think I'm going Nord, but I feel like the game urges you to go Nord, so I feel like I should not be Nord. Oh well, I'll probably end up be Imperial, but still enjoy it no matter what.
TheMightyEthan
I'm gonna say it: the whole "shouts" thing? Kinda dumb.
madbassman39
I'm gonna say it: the whole "shouts" thing? Kinda dumb. Wasn't really a fan myself. I don't understand the difference between these and magic. Still the effects that they have are really neat. I just look at it as an extension on magic.
