    • Definitely
    • When the GOTY is out
    • Depends if it's on sale
    • Maybe one day
    • Probably not.

I would like it if In the game guards didn't use some sort of mass-telepathy web so that I can kill people in town A and not be harassed by guards of town B. Always thought that was stupid.

I'd be fine with it if, for instance, the guards sent a courier across towns to put up wanted posters or whatever with the current as of then bounty. If you manage to kill the courier then you are bounty free in that town. Something like that.

There were mods for Morrowind and Oblivion that kept your crimes local to that town/region. There was also a mod for Oblivion that required you to visit a town before you were allowed to fast travel to it.

That's quite cool, it'd be nice though for the console people among us (including me) to not need mods... because yeah.

I hope it's good, but past experiences tell me I'll probably not be able to look past its glaring flaws.

Says the guy who said that New Vegas (the game) was fun even with the glitches and crap? You and I both know that the "glaring flaws" in a Bethesda game are FAR outweighed by the bugs in Obsidian games.

Show me an Obsidian game in the last decade, and I'll show you a near-unplayable mess. At least Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 were functional.

I would also be surprised if Bethesda was able to secure the new id tech. I would NOT be surprised if they were using a modified version of id tech 4, though.

I see you have never in your life played Morrowind 1.0. Ah, all those scenic walks where you fall through solid ground into the void for no reason... I'll take a buggy New Vegas any day over the boring shitfest that is Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

Even when guards don't exist, there is always an invisible entity judging your every move for these types of games...it's really, really annoying.

How do you know it's not just you writing a very intricate diary of everything and the guards just having to read you diary while you scream for them to give it back?

Agreed.

I'd also like Skyrim to focus on better Thieving mechanics, if I loved one thing about oblivion it was robbing people's houses during the night, sometimes in broad daylight. Perhaps a better stealth system is needed.. something with shadows/disguises/following á la Assassins Creed. I'd also like it if Guards would have to actually SEE you performing a crime, before apprehending you for said crime. I'd also like it if the engine handled the 3rd person perspective a little better.

Lastly, I better get to ride that dragon from the trailer.. too little games have you riding things these days.

I played hours of the last Elder scrolls and maybe I played years too late, but I didn't find it as interesting. Can't say that's too much of an excuse since I first played Fallout 3 about 3 years later.

I dislike the leveling system, why should my enemies keep up with me? And the inventory system, this is 2010 it's okay to have an item in each box, no excuses like "managing" cause if that was true we would be able to carried 3 weapons at most. The horse man...why is it so hard for games to make horses run like the one in the last Zelda game, now that's a horse worth riding. TWSS

Anyone got any links to some decent scans of GI's Skyrim stuff? Most scans floating about atm look like they were taken with scanners from the 90s.

If there's no decent ones by the time my GI issue comes, I'll post them up. I'm glad that they fixed it so that leveling up doesn't depend solely on major skills improvement. Usually I like having set classes, but I'm glad that they're nixing them in favor of a more organic development. I'm looking forward to having my character be a jack of all trades. Also dual wielding weapons are available in Skyrim. Yay!

I will be totally disappointed if we can't ride a friggin' dragon. Or at least be able to raise one and ride it to destinations instead of riding a horse. tongue.gif

Awesome. And yeah dragon ownership would be cool. Unsure on the flying though.

lol, my scanner's from the mid 90s. I'm amazed it still works.

I didn't think the GI issue was out. I don't have it yet, but then I swear that mine is always late by a week or more.

I'm glad to hear that the world will have varied environments, despite being generally high-altitude and rugged.

One cool detail I read was the small activities like cooking, metal working and farming. This will really give me a chance to live in the world.

I wouldn't mind knowing more about the NPC animations and dialogue. In GI they just briefly mention that NPCs will move around during dialogue.

I'm surprised that GI didn't mention horse riding. With horses becoming more popular and better utilized, I figured they might revamp that.

There's lots of good stuff on GI's site, particularly the behind the scenes video with Todd Howard: www.gameinformer.com/skyrim
