Waldorf and Statler
Most expensive house in the game is in Solitude. One never truly needs such a gigantic house really and it'll look too empty. Like others have said the house in Markarth or the house in Windhelm are my two choices. CorgiShinobi
Anyone else have dragon remains teleport? Like, the bones of the first dragon have moved from around the watchtower to right in front of the Whitehorn stables for me. I've heard that NPCs can suddenly disappear and move elsewhere, but it was kinda freaky to see the bones move (Skeleton Dragon? Right now?!), disappear, and then greet me at the stables. TheMightyEthan
All this talk of over-enchanted equipment makes reminds me of Oblivion, and how I quit playing after my 125% invisibility armor set made the game super boring. I'd just sit there hacking on dudes and they'd be like "what was that?" and continue standing there like idiots.

Enervation
Yeah, I saw someone on Reddit who spent an entire day forging ridiculously overpowered equipment. It's great that you have a mace that can one-hit-kill a dragon or a giant, but where's the fun in that? They're usually the hardcore PvPers in MMOs, who are obsessed with getting the best out of all the equipment they have. Sometimes, that habit carries over into singleplayer games. I myself am completely content with my standard Daedric armor, though it definitely can stand to benefit from a few enchantments. I'm a sword and board warrior, so as long as I play it safe I'm effectively unkillable (though it requires a ton of stamina potions to compensate for my blocking). TheMightyEthan
I'm a light armor battle-mage. Member of both the Companions and the College. Sword in the right hand and fire spell in the left. I'm terribly squishy.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I'm same as Ethan, only I carry a Daedric mace in my right hand.
deanb
Yeah I saw in regards to the 100% off destruction cost post someone say their friend had started a new game cos they ended up with uber-powerful gear. First reply is the sane "why not just wear something else?". btw for those wanting a slightly different (albiet harder in some elements) game, if you never talk to the Jarl of Whiterun at the start of the game, you never get the dragons spawning. (Kinda like don't do Kvatch or infiltrate Mythic Dawn if you don';t want Oblivion gates everywhere). This basically turns Skyrim from a game following the destiny of the Dragonborn (along with no spawning dragons no one will talk about the dragonborn either), but instead the civil war within Skyrim and you as a small pawn within this. And yeah I'm a mage, and due to the best gear being clothes or enchanted light armour, as well as needing to put most of your level-ups into magicka, I can deal the damage, but I can't really take it I need to get better with my ward. Mages I'm fighting have started using them and it's really fucking annoying.
Enervation
Bahahaha. Mages. I'm a Breton, so that's an automatic 25% magic resistance. Couple that with my armor enchantments now and I have almost 80% magic resistance, and that's not even counting my rings and necklace. Just need to buff up my shield defense and whatnot and I'll be a walking juggernaut.
Eleven
Thanks for the real-estate tips! I'm going to check out Markarth and Solitude... @Atomsk88: you can cast firebolt on dragon remains, and they fly like paper. I killed a dragon in Whiterun, and I played with it, the corpse ending outside the city walls... @Enervation / @Dean - Dragonskin works great too against mages. Wards cost a lot.... EDIT: Once a day! And for Bretons only! Edited November 21, 2011 by elev3n
Hot Heart
This is my friend's. "Nice perk, Talos. You jerk."
Enervation
It's absurd. Absurd I say. My Heavy Armor character is capable of sneaking within a fairly close radius of enemies (he has to walk though, otherwise he will make too much noise) but nonetheless I've been able to sneak fairly easily through dungeons, sneak sniping everything in my path. T'is absurd. Also, dragon parts are really, really heavy.
Pirandello
The new patch is 100% fucking retarded. I can't launch Skyrim anymore because it won't let me run the game in compatibility mode. But I NEED to run it in compatibility mode otherwise the game gives 2-7 second-long freezes every 15 seconds with a very common occurrence of catastrophic system lock-up (a problem which also resulted from Bethesda's horrible optimization). Thanks, Bethesda. Thanks for nothing.

Enervation
I prefer the blessing of Stendarr. In other news, I joined the College of Winterhold. Stupid pleb mages act like they've never seen me before. I'm the Dovahkiin by Talos!
TheMightyEthan
That actually does a really good job of showing off the lighting engine...
deanb
While the rest of the game leaves a lot to be desired the lighting is pretty nice compared to Oblivion. The textures are worse, but the lighting really does make the overall graphics of Skyrim seem a substitutional step up from Skyrim.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I don't think a lot of devs realize that you can make your game's graphics look orders of magnitude better by just investing in a good dynamic lighting system. Skyrim and Halo Anniversary have both demonstrated this to me recently.

Strangelove
Everyone I know has loved skyrim and ive hesitated to ask, but I might as well. For someone who hated Oblivion, yet loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, how does this stack up? I also loved Dragon Age, so im not completely opposed to fantasy. TheMightyEthan
I was never able to get much into Oblivion but loved F3 and New Vegas, and so far I'm loving Skyrim. I can't put my finger on why, so I can't give you any real useful feedback, but take what you will from that.
deanb
http://ppsh-41.tumbl...ilt-into-skyrim This hadn't been posted yet? I saw it on r/skyrim, then I saw RPS post on it too, their post said it was fake but when I queried their conclusion I came back few hours later to find they had no sign of saying it was fake n had even included instructions on how to do it yourself. Everyone I know has loved skyrim and ive hesitated to ask, but I might as well. For someone who hated Oblivion, yet loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, how does this stack up? I also loved Dragon Age, so im not completely opposed to fantasy. Skyrim is much closer to Fallout 3 than it is to Oblivion. (Though as I noted earlier it's missing the awesome companion wheel New Vegas had). This "Falout-ness" is both in the perk system (though that's a hybrid between Oblivion n FO3), the environments, and the pile of ash left over from when you kill a mage with a laser rifle. Heh, yeah, I'd been at work all day so I guess there is an advantage to coming in late. Checked the thread before and, as with a lot of stuff I find, figured I'd share just in case anyone missed it.
