One thing worth noting here is that the new Amazon Playstation Store makes PSN gifting possible. Regional restrictions are easily circumvented and you get a code that you can just give to your target. The codes themselves might only work in NA, though.

Is there an official confirmation on whether PSN codes purchased from different countries will work in others? Because if so, that'd be a neat addition to this as the person can specify whether they'd prefer a PSN gift card/game or a Steam title. Steam is still the go-to. But imagine. Just imagine.

So I could hypothetically buy a psn code from the UK amazon to give out if I needed to?

I only have experience buying from US Amazon (from Canada) but if it works the same then yeah, you should be able to. The code would probably only work for someone in the UK, though.

Amazon UK doesn't do PSN codes to my knowledge. We only just got the PC download store (And I'm pretty sure Amazon US only just got the PSN store). Given both Sony and Amazon operate separately in different nations I imagine it'll take a while to cross the pond.

As for making platform agnostic wishlists:

(though it's wholly platform agnostic, so you can't quite define which you'd like it on, but at least it's a wishlist you can add non-Steam games to)

edit: It's also a platform/service agnostic way of finding out what games folks own, cos not every game I own on PC/multi-plat will pop up in the Steam Gift Checkout as me owning.

That's actually a really good idea. Like I've got AC4 on PS4, so it doesn't show up on my Steam account but it does on Darkadia.

*Edit* - Although if you stick to the wishlist that shouldn't be a problem, only if you're going off-list.
