danielpholt
I also just finished The Wolf Among Us. I really liked it, though I'm not quite seeing the people who are saying it's better than TWD Season 1. I've not even looked at TWD Season 2 yet, and I doubt I will. I think I've had my fill for now, even a Game of Thrones game isn't interesting me. I'll play Wolf S2, but that's probably me done for a while. Hot Heart
TWD S2 has been pretty great/horrible so far. The writers have done a great job at presenting even more complex situations and character relationships. I really think it is worth waiting and just binge-playing though, in some regards. There are so many characters and little things/touches that too much time passes between episodes to remember everything.
CorgiShinobi
I would say TWD S1 > TWAU > TWD S2. The Wolf Among Us is a close second, but I think it's the one that most suffers from the episodic release schedule. As it still involves a murder mystery, it can be hard to remember the fine details of characters and what they've said in the past. A lot does change between episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2, but The Walking Dead has been the "cross the bridge" type of series where you don't have to always look back because the real problems are in front of you.
TornadoCreator
W00t, just beat Super Mario 3D World today... great game, may try to 100% it as I'm still really enjoying it.
TheMightyEthan
I really liked that game, but couldn't make it through all the special stages.
Mal
Ni No Kuni Overall, I would class it as a good kid's first JRPG. For adults, it is okay since it doesn't really have much depth to it. Clocking in at about 50 hours, it is one of the longer games that I've played recently so you'll get your money's worth. To stay with a not-so-serious Ghibli for 50 hours can be draining *however. I couldn't help but feel that the story was something like Howl's Moving Castle but Disney-fied. Yes, at certain part I saw the more serious Ghibli tones (Tones of Nausicca, Mononoke) but it was few and far between. For the gameplay, besides my biggest grip, the combat wasn't too deep. Special moves are shared between familiars with some being outright useless. There isn't much spells to use (Why doesn't Oliver have a revival spell?) and the eventual summons are quite boring. Outfitting your characters and familiars was also a mess. Speaking of familiars, you'll be naturally inclined to stick with the few familiars despite capturing tons of different ones. I really desire a better Ghibli backed game... I also should praise the game for keeping somewhat interesting throughout the whole game. It doesn't pile on th whole crew and junk at the start of the game. You slowly build it up. Hell, I got a new character when I was level 50. *Combined with my biggest grip of the game, I was about done with the game towards the last level. Eleven
Continued Gravity Rush after I stopped playing it a year ago, only to realize I was on the final chapter. So yeah, Gravity Rush. Completely forgot the story though.

Completely forgot the story though. Something about a bad scientist trying to take over the world? Maybe a time paradox or something? I enjoyed that game but I remember next to nothing about it. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I fucking loved that game, got the platinum, but I can't remember like anything about the plot.
Mister Jack
I'm probably less than an hour from beating Gravity Rush. I could probably go beat it right now if I wanted to. I'll actually do it someday.
toxicitizen
Ys: Memories of Celceta. I was recently reading a thread about the series on NeoGAF and people started ranking the Ys games in order of preference. I was kinda shocked by how low Celceta was ranked. Most people ranked it at the very bottom, just above Ys I & II, while Oath in Felghana was closer to the top. I haven't played them all yet but so far Celceta is my favorite by far. The story still isn't all that great but I thought it was more interesting and better developed. The overall presentation was also a lot better, especially the character models. I really preferred the more realistically proportioned ones here compared to the chibi style of Felghana. There's also party members that you can control and just significantly more content overall. It took me about 30 hours but I spent a few hours on side stuff and trophies so it's probably closer to 20-25, which is still twice as long as the previous games. It was a bit on the easy side but I just had more fun with one. I'll definitely be giving it a replay down the line and probably go for the platinum.
Mal
Note, I haven't played Celceta yet. I feel part of it's low ranking may be due to how they changed it from Adol soloing Celceta to having a party. Also judging how Adol has a VA now, Adol talks much more...? At the face of it these can be seen as improvements but first off this is a remake. I expect it to stick close to the core mechanics like how Oath did with Ys IV. Adol not talking much is more of a tradition. Most of his communications are usually like MaliciousH explains plate tectonics and how rocks are cool to FLD. They're summaries really. Every so often he may mutter a single word. That is it. From the looks of it, Celceta should have improved on the party system that Seven started. I count five playable characters in Celceta to Seven's seven. FLD, since you are not as much of a diehard fan like I am, I think I'll take your appraisal of Celceta as being better than Seven. Seriously, fuck Ys Seven last boss. Do yourself a favor and just play on normal if you haven't gotten to Seven yet. Otherwise enjoy an otherwise great game. Anyways, I enjoy all the games... Oath > Origin > Seven > Ark > Ys III (Celceta) > Ys II > Ys I If only Ys V wasn't only in Japanese. Origin would have gotten highest if Falcom had done something slightly different with the three storylines.

Occasionally, someone will ask you something and you'll get to choose between two replies but they're never voiced. To be honest, I barely even noticed he had a VA. I'm not sure he ever makes a single sound outside of battle grunts and shouts. Maybe the occasional one word line like "Right!" or whatever during cutscenes but I really couldn't say for sure. Oath > Origin > Seven > Ark > Ys III (Celceta) > Ys II > Ys I If only Ys V wasn't only in Japanese. Origin would have gotten highest if Falcom had done something slightly different with the three storylines. Yeah, from what I heard Celceta is most similar to Seven. And it's six party members in total. I've only played I, II, Oath and now Celceta and I'd rank them in the reverse order I played them (so Celceta > Oath > II > I). I just grabbed Origin on Steam so I'll be adding it to the list soon enough. Here's hoping XSEED releases Ark at some point because I hear the PSP version is abysmal and I don't really feel like hunting down the PS2 version. Also, forgot to mention but I hear Celceta is getting a PC version in China and I really hope it gets localized. The Vita version suffers from some framerate issues and a resolution bump couldn't hurt either.
Strangelove
Persona 4 Golden. I beat this when it came out in 2012, but technically not really. I got the good ending last time, but this time I got the true ending. It was pretty awesome. I missed a lot of important stuff. I also got 94% of the Persona Compendium. I wasn't able to max out all the S. Links. It seems impossible really. I beat the Hollow Forest as well, I tried to find the Reaper after I ran into him a long time ago, but he never showed up. And since I didn't get the true ending beforehand, i couldn't fight the secret boss either. Id be lying if I said that I'm not tempted to start over a third time and get the platinum trophy. I just wish i could keep my items and/or social links. Maxing out the Fox's link again is going to be annoying. Or at the very least give me the abilities that get unlocked when you max out your links with your party members. I would love to have Rise all maxed out as soon as I get her. It'd be awesome. I wish I could play as the older versions of the characters in the new game plus. I really liked Chie and Naoto with longer hair and Kanji with black hair. Also, why dont they look like this in P4A? Do they explain that?
Mister Jack
The Rise trophy is almost impossible. It's the one thing that makes me not want to bother with the platinum.

I keep hearing that but I got it without even trying and it wasn't over multiple playthroughs either. I guess I just got really lucky somehow? Strangelove
I never got that trophy and Ive finished the game twice and I pretty much always scan everything. Though it has to be done on a single playthrough. From what ive read though each shadow has 3 different Rise phrases when they get scanned depending on how weak, equal, or more powerful they are to you. On top of that I imagine that being hurt a lot will also help since she always comments when a character is close to dying. I tended to not have that problem. Mister Jack
Considering you have almost no control over what Rise says, yeah, it's pretty luck based.
toxicitizen
The Wolf Among Us. Finally got around to playing episodes 4 and 5. They were good but the 2-3 months wait really killed the story's momentum for me. Don't think I'll be jumping into a Telltale game before it's over again. So, I guess that means I'll be waiting a bit longer before starting Walking Dead S2. Overall, I liked Wolf a lot more than Walking Dead. That's not to say that it was necessarily better in any particular way, though. I just liked everything about it a lot more. The world, story and characters were more interesting to me and I just loved the more colorful visual style. Wouldn't mind getting a season 2. toxicitizen
Corpse Party. Oh man, that was actually pretty damn good! The story is really what makes the game. The first couple chapters are kinda slow and are mostly used to set up the mood, premise and characters but once things really got going I was completely hooked. It's not scary at all, which was disappointing since I'd heard otherwise, but it does have its moments. A few of them kinda creepy and even downright disturbing. It was kind of awesome. The gameplay is a bit meh, though. Imagine a point-and-click adventure but played like a 16-bit JRPG. If you've played To The Moon then you have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about. It works, not much else to say about it. One thing worth mentioning is that every chapter has one true ending and a bunch of bad ones. This being a Japanese game, I got a bit worried early on that getting those true endings would involve some obscure or convoluted bullshit that would make progression a pain in the ass without a walkthrough. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. I ended up "accidentally" getting the true endings on the first 3 chapters. Most of the bad ones were linked to very clear failure scenarios, i.e. there is a bad thing in here that wants to kill you: do not let it kill you. I did save myself into an unwinnable situation in chapter 3 or 4 but it was at the very beginning of the chapter so I only lost about 30 mins of playtime. Replaying it while skipping all the text was a very minor annoyance. The only really bad one was the final chapter. I literally just spent all night on it because 2-3 hours in I realized I was locked into a bad ending path. I'd made a separate save an hour earlier because I had a hunch I'd made a bad call but that just lead to me wasting another hour. Turns out I'd made a mistake even earlier and had locked myself out of getting a necessary item. That one kinda sucked. But yeah, really enjoyed this one. Story is great. Maybe use a spoiler-free guide for chapter 5. Edited July 23, 2014 by FLD
Mister Jack
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's a great game that every 3DS owner should play. It's easily the best portable Zelda since Link's Awakening. Sadly, this will probably be my last Zelda game until the Wii U one comes out next year because I have officially gone through every Zelda game I currently have in my possession. It was fun while it lasted.
TCP
Better than Minish Cap, Jack? Better than Oracle of Ages and Seasons?! I do agree that the DS games were the worst.
Mister Jack
I actually didn't finish Minish Cap so I guess I can't speak for that one.
CorgiShinobi
I liked Phantom Hourglass, but it isn't as memorable as most Zelda games. Spirit Tracks I still need to finish (like right near the end), but besides the story and interaction with Princess Zelda, again nothing really memorable. Strangelove
Lego Marvel Super Heroes(the story missions anyways). This is the first Lego game Ive truly enjoyed. It was a lot of fun. It also has some of the best collectibles in a videogame(extra characters). So yeah, this will keep me busy.
