Games You've Beat in 2014

You definitely don't want to play it. It opens with a huge spoiler from season 3, and then talks about things like The Wall and Essos, and characters like Ramsey Snow and "The Kingslayer", without explaining who/what they are. It introduces the original characters well, but beyond that it acts like another season of the TV show.

I feel like you should never buy Telltale's games until there's at least 3 episodes out. By then you can usually grab them for 15 bucks or so. Plus, their games seem to always inevitably be plagued by all kinds of issues at launch. So, it gives them time to deal with that.

I normally would wait but THE HYPE GOT TO ME, IT GOT TO ME!!!! To be fair, I didn't have any issues when I played, and I noticed it seemed to run smoother than Walking Dead Season 2 did on PS4 (which I played just two weeks ago).

Escape Goat.

It's really short, took me a little under 3 hours to beat, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And considering it was like a dollar, I definitely feel like I got my money's worth. I was a bit disappointed by how easy it was, though. Very few of the rooms posed any real challenge. And once I cleared them all I unlocked level select and went achievement hunting. Most of the achievements are stuff like "complete level x without doing y". I figured the restrictions would increase the difficulty but I ended up completing like 90% of them in about 20mins. The only achievement I have left is for speed running the game.

I'll definitely be getting the sequel at some point. It's 10 bucks though, so I really hope it'll be a bit longer and more challenging.

Plus there was a HUGE delay in between episodes 1 and 2 of Wolf Among Us.  That right there pretty much put me off the idea of buying the season pass at launch.

Right, if you're not patient, then it's not for you. It really just comes down to if you think having 2-3 month waits is fine. I did this with Fables and was cool with it. Hell I think I waited after 2 and did 3-5 all at once or something. If it's a good product then $25/30 is a fair price in my eyes whereas I rarely do that with $60.

Wonder if it'll go in the Steam sale and piss off all the people who bought it already for a higher price. That happened with TWAU, didn't it?

Telltale always discount their season passes on PSN as well. They really should stop doing that until the entire game is out.

Far Cry 3. I really liked it, but didnt love it. Im not sure why, but it felt too much like Assassin's Creed, which im actually a fan of. I just found it distracting and awkward to have the same map system with all the side missions and climbing towers and some other AC stuff.

It had this weird kind of AAA sheen that AC has. Maybe I just had different expectations. Who knows. It was just weird.

You say you're not sure why then you point out exactly why in your next sentence. That's Ubi's thing now.

Earthbound. Never played it, picked it up on my phone to have something to do during slow days. It wasn't really what I expected, I found it strange but enjoyable. It likes to make fun itself, and I wish more random-battle games had the 'screw it, you're level 56 and this enemy is level 16, you win' function.

Tomb Raider

A solid game that isn't actually that close to Uncharted. To be honest, the current setting for Uncharted 4 seems eerily like Tomb Raider. Enemies wise, there is an actual good reason why we're fighting each other and why Lara shouldn't be too traumatized by it. Still though, there are many places where you go to that are unalerted to the gun battle you just had down the cave... at least enemies didn't felt like sponges.

Now that I'm done, there is no incentive to 100% single player... duel-wield pistols unlock would be nice.

FInally finished Dragon Age after about 80 hours.  Killed all 10 dragons and did damn near every quest except for a few unfinished scavenger hunts.  The end battle wasn't quite as exciting as the one in Origins, but it's still a better ending than Mass Effect 3.  Damn, I was seriously hooked on this game.  I never say this but bring on the season pass!  I can't wait for more.

Also, how the hell do you determine who will be elected Divine? I tried to steer it towards Cassandra in every way I could think of but it ended up being Leiliana, who immediately started assassinating all her political enemies. I totally did not want that outcome but I have no idea what caused it.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue. It was fun, the air rifle/grenade launcher combo is now my favourite weapon in the series. :P

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a Rogue 2, unless they actually plan to leave it like that, I want to know what happens after evil dude sends that video of Shay to the assassins.

The story fights against other ships were kind of disappointing, though that may have more to do with the fact that I got all upgrades for the Morrigan early on. Still, I expected to have a tougher time against the Experto Crede. :P

It makes sense now, that they released it alongside Unity, had they released this one first, and Unity a couple of months/year later I think most people would've forgotten about Charles and Arno Dorian and how Shay was involved with them.*

Spoilers ( :P) Shay is the one that killed Arno's father.
