Yup, when it was introduced, regional pricing made every game cheaper over here, presumably, the reason behind the region-locking of gifts, then suddenly everything (some exceptions here and there) got much more expensive. Gifts are still region-locked though.
toxicitizen
Hey, good on Lab Zero for actually listening when people told them their regional pricing was fucked. At least this is roughly equivalent to the price in USD. Was it updated for your region @MetalCaveman ?
MetalCaveman
Yup. Now it's roughly around $37 USD.

MetalCaveman
Based on the name, I was hoping for alien and UFO horror, but it looks more like the usual demonic possession stuff. Anyone remember the Area51 game for PS2, Xbox and... PC(?) that one was fun.
TheMightyEthan
That's weird, why even use Roswell if you're not going the alien angle?
MetalCaveman
Good question, from what I know, it seems that the game changed name alongside finding a publisher, so it's possible that they just changed the name and the original story had nothing to do with aliens(?) MetalCaveman
Could be fun I guess.
toxicitizen
A multiplayer-focused Resident Evil spin-off? What could possibly go wrong... Although, to be fair, Capcom have kinda been on fire the past few years. So who knows? Maybe the third time will be the charm.
Mister Jack
Don't forget RE: Outbreak. People actually liked that one.
toxicitizen
True but wasn't Outbreak closer to a typical RE of the time? Based on that trailer, this new one seems to be a Left 4 Dead-style co-op with an asymmetrical multiplayer component, which is completely new ground for the series. They've yet to do a proper multiplayer RE that wasn't complete shit, although if I'm right about the genre then at least this time they have some fairly successful games they can copy. Like, a mix of Left 4 Dead and Dead by Daylight doesn't sound like the worst idea in the world and isn't a bad fit for Resident Evil, unlike those previous titles. I think my expectations are mostly going to be based on whether they're developing it in-house or outsourcing it like the other two I posted. Mister Jack
They'll probably use the RE2 Remake engine for it. I mean, they went to all that trouble to put it together. A co-op game in that style could be pretty fun.
MetalCaveman
Left for Dead + Dead by Daylight seems to be what they're going for, if so, that could work way better than their previous attempts. Outbreak was fun, if a bit ahead of its time, but yes, in essence it was a standard RE game, just with co-op.
Mister Jack
Aeris is now Aerith again. I was wondering how they'd handle that.
toxicitizen
Gameplay reveal for that RE game. It looks... fine. Not seeing anything particularly exciting but it could be fun with friends.
CorgiShinobi
Looking at the first trailer, I knew it would be an asymmetrical 4 vs 1. I'm not optimistic, but if it's actually fun, then hey!
Mister Jack
I could be down if the price is right. I don't think I want to pay 60 bucks for it if this is all it is, though.

That's here is the main thing though, all of these games could be fun, the problem (for me at least ) is getting/knowing enough people that play and that can actually get together often enough to make it worth it. Pretty much, yeah. I have two friends I play coop with (we're only 3 and we still can't even manage to play at least once a week regularly lol) and at this point any game has to be better than Vermintide 2 or we're just gonna keep playing that. This does not look better than Vermintide 2.
Mal
I would be so down for a purely co-op experience. This, not so much.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, coop games were fantastic when I was in college, now it's impossible to organize time to play with other people...
