Mal
After Wolfenstein, my body is ready. I recall that the stuff from last year's Quakecon was great but there were no real leaks there so it's all hearsay.
toxicitizen
It's a mod but holy fuck, it looks great. Gonna have to give it a shot as soon as I manage to beat the last couple zones.
TheFlyingGerbil
80s neon racer with PC and probable PS4 release, on Kickstarter. looks cool. Makes me super tempted to buy the 3D Classics Out Run on 3DS. Loved that game when it frist came out and this is supposed to be a great version of it but I do not want to tarnish my memories of it. TheFlyingGerbil
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q89ps0yg3zs Since Fantasy Life 2 is coming to mobiles instead of 3DS, this looks like and appealing alternative and XSeed have implied a Western release. Probably best not to hold my breath for it appearing in the near future though.

Saturnine Tenshi
It sure does. There's a "Visual Storytelling" dev diary here if you're interested. (Not embedding it since it isn't really a trailer.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-_cgGMbRDY
Mal
I know it's Nexon and all but I still puked a little bit. This is not how you treat an IP, even one without much video games, such as this. It's like turning The Song of Ice and Fire into Dynasty Warriors. Cyberpunk 2077 cannot come soon enough to wash this shit away (while past performance is no indication of future performance, I remain hopeful after CDPR's The Witcher 3). Mal
Too bad I have no SO other to play this with because this seems to be a blast.
TheMightyEthan
That seems like the kind of thing that would lead to divorce.
Mal
It's take place in dangerous spacetime. Can love survive in such a hostile environment!?Ethan, partner up with your wife and try it out! That or I try with Nvidia's Gamestream Co-Op with someone here or something. I love you all! Mal
A neat idea of a game. If it will be a fun and heartfelt game will depend on execution. I sure do hope there is a mixture of good and bad endings because face it, people abandon their dogs way too often and the ending to that is a dead dog. Still though, I can see ways it can be made into a fun game. Since this is a Kickstarter, I don't want to speculate too much but the end game stuff could be reuniting with the previous owner or getting a new owner through you charm and wits. TheFlyingGerbil
Looks interesting and definitely not at all like Shadow of the Colossus. Even that big chain was used in the team Ico third project Teaser. . Hopefully as we hear more about it it will show something more though the website doesn't fill me with confidenceyou must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter We can but hope. Also not sure if it's the bit with the wolves but there's a bit of the new tomb raider about it. Mind you, even if it is a rip off doesn't mean it won't be good.
Mal
It's fine if a game plays it safe and be very much like it's inspiration(s). Prey for the Gods seems to be taking the next logical steps up from SotC. By the looks of things, the world seems a bit more alive (wolves) and has environmental hazards (i.e., cold). Those kind of stuff wasn't as possible back on the PS2 or at the very least not as fleshed out as it is now. Additionally, environmental puzzles might be a thing since I doubt getting to the ruins is going to straightforward.

Thursday Next
This is all kinds of awful The lengths they went to to crowbar in the crass sexism are extraordinary.

TheFlyingGerbil
Optimistic? Turns out that old PS4 tech demo is going to be a game. Though what sort isn't clear from the trailer. I enjoyed Heavy Rain, haven't got around to beyond two souls yet. I guess quantic get pretty mixed reviews but they appeal to me as gameplay needn't always be the main appeal of a game, though if they nailed that too obviously so much the better. TheMightyEthan
I liked heavy rain, beyond less so.
TheFlyingGerbil
Did it end up being too actiony? I think I read it took a strange turn to end up almost like a cover shooter or am I mixing that up with something else?
TheMightyEthan
No, you're right. I don't remember it very well, just that it was good in some ways but overall I didn't like it as much. It wasn't as focused.
Thursday Next
I think the supernatural elements hurt Beyond a bit. The slow pace and choices are more... suited? To a game (mostly) grounded in reality. I'll be interested to see how it turns out.
TheMightyEthan
I certainly like the premise of this one a lot.
TheFlyingGerbil
You may like that programme, "Humans" that Dean mentioned in the TV shows thread as it is basically the exact same premise and is only 6 episodes long.
deanb
8 episodes. But yeah, worth a watch and won't take long.
