So if there's anything you want to do as Desmond, you have to do it before the end. And a word of warning, it starts railroading you through at like the end of Chapter 8, so do whatever you want to do with Desmond before then. When I got to Venice, I figured the game would end sometime shortly after Forli, but now that I'm there, I have the feeling I'm only half way done. On another note, is anyone else actually interested in the sci-fi bit of it? I mean, as inevitable as it is, I loath the idea of a game set primarily around Desmond. What I love, however, is the Matrix-esque sci-fi backdrop for the games. I think the real reason I'm iffy on the idea of Desmond's game isn't because it won't have an awesome historical setting (here's to hoping the French Revolution is after Brotherhood), but because it won't be a simulated memory. It'll just be plain old sci-fi. Your question prompted me to go look up how to buy the DLC, but I own the pc version, which apparently came packaged with the DLC. I finished the Battle of Forli thinking it was a change of pace, albeit part of the normal story. Last I played, I had just entered Florence and met up with Machiavelli in what I assume is Bonfire of the Vanities. lol, now I know why it said "Repaired Memory" on the map instead of whatever it normally does. It'll just be plain old sci-fi. You might be interested to know that Brotherhood expands the 2012 setting a bit. In a way... You get to go outside. But since 2012 is just over a year away, don't expect the world to look radically different. I'm personally hoping for a more exotic location for AC3. Something like South America (e.g. Aztec) or Asia (e.g. Mongolia). Perhaps even Africa (e.g. Egypt). 18th century France is a bit too close to the Renaissance in terms of aesthetics, I think. Then again, since Desmond's ancestry seems to be European, I don't know how they would implement a South-American/Asian/African ancestor... But I hope they find a way. Luckily it didn't manifest until after I'd beat the story, so all I missed out on was a little bit of talking in the Truth artifact things, but at least I had subtitles. I didn't like his smug face from the first time he appeared. I'm going to try to finish the SP tomorrow, after that it's assassination contracts, faction challenges, and other side missions. For something that's supposed to be one of the most powerful things in the world it was awkward and frustrating as hell. I can't believe they agreed on putting this in the game this way. Seriously, no one that tested the game could open their mouths and say something about it? I thought the pacing was SO off. One thing I loved - Reveal hidden contents the last part where you get to play as Desmond. I loved to jump around as him, and I loved the part in the church (temple of Juno). I also see how the ending should've been 'WTF?!' but Desmond stabbing Lucy didn't do it for me. I don't know why, because it sucks if she's really dead, I liked her character - but somehow it didn't have that WOW/WTF factor. Any thoughts on the ending would be welcome. Finally he gets to do some assassin moves! Though the jumping puzzle at the very end was bordering on frustrating. Also, I agree that the ending was definitely not quite on the same WTF level as ACII. It was more of a "shock" ending but it carried nowhere near the same weight as the one from ACII. I mean, in II you spend so much time in that realistic historical setting that when things get all sci-fi it's a huge change of atmosphere. And then the reveal that Ezio is merely a "vessel" and that the warning is actually for Desmond was pretty awesome It really tied the two timelines/storyline together in a good way. Here's it's just like "wait, what?" *stab* THE END But I guess it makes sense considering that it's not a "proper" sequel. I really doubt that Lucy is dead, though. Judging from the dialogue during the credits, the other assassins arrived pretty quickly. Oh and Reveal hidden contents At first I liked the idea of using the apple but I hated how it locks you out of using anything else. Plus, you're stuck using only it for way too long.
