TheFlyingGerbil
how come he sued gametrailers? I never heard that bit before.

TheMightyEthan
What I'm more surprised about is that Gametrailers actually settled with him.
Thursday Next
You can't sue for stealing an idea anyway (unless it is patented). For it to be copyright infringement you have to COPY the expression of the idea. Adapting it into a totally different story is not copying. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, it was all around retarded. Even if he had proved that his book was the inspiration for Assassin's Creed he still would have lost. Â Speaking of: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05/31/ubisoft-files-against-authors-frivolous-lawsuit/ Â Ubisoft is counter-suing to get a judgment saying the claims are without merit, that he can't bring them back or similar ones in the future, and for their attorney fees for having to defend the stupid thing. Strangelove
Â Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation for the Vita. It's still a rumor, but a few people have confirmed that its in the new issue of Game Informer. It's supposed to be a full fledged title similar to AC3 and taking place in the same timeline in New Orleans, more or less. You also play as a half African America half French female character. Its supposed to be released on the same day as AC3. Color me cautiously optimistic. I hope its not too nerfed compared to the console versions. TCP
This good be AWESOME, as long as it doesn't end up like the PSP version of AC. Give us a console experience, just with shorter missions (but maybe more of them?). Americans! Would New Orleans have a decent amount of buildings in this era? Maybe it'll be a return to the AC2 - ACR style of games.
TheMightyEthan
I'm a total consumer whore, but that could actually sell me a Vita depending on how well it turns out.
danielpholt
In the last 10 months i've managed to play through AC, AC2 and Brotherhood, but i just can't build up any motivation to throw myself into Revelations. I don't know if i'm just tired of the formular, or burnt out on the story. I've started Revelations, got about an hour into it and found myself getting frustrated with a certain mission. Â Maybe i'll add it onto my Shameless Gaming pile. I just want to get it done. Â As for the Vita version. I can't wait. Hopefully they go down the route that TheCowboyPoet suggested. Short missions, lots of combat and climbing and a decent storyline.
Johnny
Revelations starts out really slow. It gets better later, but it never becomes as good as AC2 or Brotherhood was.
danielpholt
I've got to look after our mums house for two days next week so I'm probably going to take the 360 over and blitz through that.
Thursday Next
Playnig Revelations it feels really fractured. You've got the books stuff, the other story stuff and the limbo stuff, but I'm never sure which is the "main" story line. As such I never know if I'm progressing or killing time. I also, since Brotherhood, make the games way too easy by getting a gang of master assassins together at the earliest opportunity. I had all my other dens set up and fully defended before I'd even trained up the storyline assassin apprentice.
deanb
Yeah Revelations seriously suffers from "Feature Creep" or as close a game can come to it. It's not terrible but you do any up gong through a bunch of unrelated sidequests, doing a mainline mission, unlocking more sidequests, doing them, then doing the next main mission, and so on. Â Bombs are neat, though largely uneeded. Also kinda sucks you can only sell them at one spot, makes it a bit of a pain if you're into selling surplus to fund buying buildings. TheFlyingGerbil
You always end up with more money than you can spend in AC games though. I didn't even know you could sell bomb parts. Mind you I don't really use them. I think I'm most of the way through the game and I still haven't used 50 bombs yet. I think it annoys me that I can only carry 4 of one type so I don't want to use them even though I've got spare parts out the wazoo. Â I did find it harder in revelations deciding which of the missions I could do without advancing the story, and it seems like there are less side quests this time. Also, is there any point in the carry-4-boxes-for-a-merchant type "missions"? I can't work out why I'd do them. do they unlock something or maybe get harder if you keep doing them? danielpholt
I think i'm just going to run run through it. Usually i like to get a good few hours out of the game, but at this stage i just want to get it off my list.
TheFlyingGerbil
would you cut out trying to buy all the buildings, guild challenges, fully training all the assassin recruits etc.? I don't really think there are (m)any missions you can leave out. I know I've not managed to rip through it at the speed I'd thought I would but then once I started I wanted to own all the shops/buildings/books etc. Â I also think the downer everyone seemed to have on it at the start cos it was similar to the other games made the game seem worse than it actually is - on it's own merits it is a perfectly enjoyable game so you should at least try to take a bit of time to enjoy it and not see it as a chore. danielpholt
Im sure it is a great game...but it'll be the 4th game in the Creed series i've played inside 10 months. I had to stop with Brotherhood half way through because i was getting bored with the mechanics. I figured i'd take a 3-4 month break and be ready to go, but i'm still not feeling it. Â Still, i'll do my level best to get through/started next Monday/Tuesday. I want the game done by the end of the month.
TheFlyingGerbil
I did burn myself out on the sly HD trilogy by trying to go through them all at the same time (well, one after the other). Haven't got round to finishing it yet. It's like when I buy a new album I love it's the only thing I listen to for a fortnight and I end up making myself sick of it. Â At least you've still got a while before AC 3 comes out if you can't face the whole game in one block.
danielpholt
I'm wandering if maybe buying it on PC for £10 might be a good idea. At the moment, the only thing i'm interested in playing on is my PC. Maybe i could use that as a spring board. I'm not going to shell out £30 for it though.
