Yeah, I was kind of in awe of how good Uncharted looked on the Vita. I was playing that at the same time my wife was playing Skyward Sword, and I just couldn't help but laugh that handheld console I was using far outclassed the Wii in terms of hardware, even if it is 5 years newer.

If this is fake my heart can't handle disappointment of this proportion as I've been begging to Ubisoft for this since I played the missions in ACIII.

I don't post the image because it's gigantic.

I know lots of people have problems with AC, and yes, I'm excited for more naval missions, but please please please give us a nice, open world for us to explore on foot, the frontier and the cities was the best part of AC3! Also running in trees wad pretty great too.

I do have to say, I'm surprised this is being called AC4, I thought they'd do some more "in between" games like Revelations and Brotherhood. Also of interesting note, it's the first numbered entry in the series with a subtitle. It's too bad, I really did like Connor. I felt like, while the AC2 games were Ezio's story, AC3 wasn't so much about Connor.

Regardless of how this turns out, it'll be interesting.

EDIT: also a PS4 version would be rad. AC4 on PS4, c'mon!

The rumours, which we can neither confirm nor deny, suggest that the main character is in fact Edward Kenway, father of Haytham from Assassin’s Creed III.

the article was written by someone that has already played the game (under embargo until monday, 5pm) and the way it was phrased made it sound very much like the plot rumour is true. If they are it will sort of be continuing the ACIII story.

I approve of that decision!

It's too bad Ubisoft butchered Desmond's ending. Who will be reliving these memories? Those hackers from the ending of AC3?

Speaking of which, I really need to play the George Washington DLC and finish Liberation. That fucking mission where you tilt the Vita and move the ball around a course soured me. And by soured me, I mean, ENRAGED me.

From what I remember of the Assassin's Creed 3 previews and stuff, they were absolutely certain that, DLC aside, Assassin's Creed 3 was going to be an open-and-shut story, with no follow-up to Connor's story, so the new setting doesn't surprise me.

What does surprise me, is Ubisoft being fashionable late onto the pirate fad. Guess they had a good naval combat system and figured, hey, why waste it?

YES YES. PLEASE BE LIKE SID MEIER'S PIRATES IN TERMS OF HIRING CREW AND BEING ABLE TO PIRATE RANDOMS SHIPS IN THE SEAS.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

 YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

This.

I am not so angry that they're coming out with another one because it utilizes some of the best parts of the third installment: relationship to Haytham and the naval battles/ships.

I just hope this isn't something they've slapped together in a rush to capitalize on the popularity of the sailing missions in 3.  I'm hoping it's actually been in development for some time and they just were smart enough to foresee that those missions would be popular.

Like Ethan said: if this is Ubisoft seeing my and others' reaction and saying "quick, make a giant ocean, put the ship in it and sell for 60" then I won't give them the pleasure of my money (as I shall rent it). But if it IS a good game I'll give them the pleasure of renting it. Then keeping it.
