Yeah. I think that's my biggest complaint about the game. Connor is a soldier. Or a ship captain, maybe a pirate like his grandfather. But definitely not an assassin!

Actually, at first, when everyone was saying the ship combat was like the most satisfying part of the game, I was like "Really... i don't know...". I've played the ship's intro missions, but didn't stick to me at all. But after playing the mandatory ones later in the game, I couldn't get enough of it. Definitely looking forward to more ship battles in the next game now! Plus, boarding will be an option and that's badass!

In addition to the chase scene:

I don't like how in the final parts of the game, you're forced to walk! Plus the battle with Haytham, where connor is injured. You have this great setup, ships bombarding the fort, while Connor infiltrates during the chaos. I was expecting something like running through the town earlier in the game, I guess it was Philly?, but no, first thing that happens is Connor gets hit by friendly fire!

Then the next scene he says "I'm in no condition to fight, I must avoid the guards!", but there are no guards, you just slip into a crack in the wall. Then the Haytham fight happens, you go "finally" but realize you're injured and the ensuing battle is a letdown. Then all the walking that follows. It's frustrating.

If they want to make this next game as best as possible don't have full synch bullshit missions or at all. Shit like "chase this guy through a sea of people BUT DON'T CRASH AGAINST ANYBODY" or "chase this guy through a burning building but get a bit burned and you lose HURRRR" is fucking stupid.

Well, technically, you don't lose. Those are bonus objectives. I actually like that kind of 'optional' difficulty, so you can always challenge yourself further if you want (admittedly, in AC, you want to do it) but you can still beat it otherwise. Though I'm not saying there weren't full-sync objectives that weren't crap and had no logic behind them ("During this momentous bit of history, as a complete one-off, the assassin elected to kill no one but his target. For shits and giggles, maybe.")

It's the bits where you must follow the script to the letter that really kill it.

Some of the UI elements may be absent, but you're not fooling anyone, Ubisoft. This is the same old 'follow the script, to the letter' nonsense all over again. I bet you have to stay inside the sometimes-different-sizes-because-their-voices-are-quieter/louder?! eavesdropping circle.

Revelations is definitely the low point of the series, but I thought 3 was fantastic (I know a lot of people disagree).  I would recommend just reading about the overarching story of Revelations (if you even care about that) and then playing 3.

Truth be told, that's what I did for Brotherhood. The 100% sync on a few missions brought the OCD out in me and I found myself not progressing. I stopped halfway through when Revelations was out. I believe I know the bare bones of Revelations story, so I could jump into AC3. Just doesn't feel quite right to be skipping over half the series.

This is the new gameplay video, showing more how you'd actually be playing the game rather than highlighting specific aspects of it . I think  It looks really good to me. I just wonder how what ratio of boat to land stuff there is and I don't want endless sailing between fun bits.

None of Black Flag's DLC is coming to Wii U.  Nintendo just cannot catch a break (though I acknowledge it's largely their own fault).

This seems like a confusing move though.  The game itself is coming to Wii U, so the engine and everything has already been ported.  Wouldn't it be almost no effort to just move the DLC assets over?

I actually found the Wikipedia entry to be fairly well written... the game itself doesn't make a ton of sense. You end up reliving Altair's memories, as Ezio.. as Desmond. Clearly, the games producers had just watched Inception. Also of note: Ezio meets a girl with huge boobs!

Also, at some point, it's hinted at that Lucy may have been a double-double agent. Which is mentioned in passing in AC3 as being true. The whole thing was really half assed and half baked. Clearly someone didn't want to pay Kristen Bell anymore.

I remember little to nothing about the story except that

Desmond is in a coma that he can relive his memories as Ezio, and meets subject 16 who just says "don't die in here!" Then Ezio learns more about Altair, who get exiled from his position and finds out the Assassins are corrupt or something, and Ezio starts a new branch of assassins in Constanople. Ezio falls in love with as CP said a girl with huge boobs. They find books, I only do it to see the really stiff plastic looking boobs again.

As far as I understood, and reading the wiki seems to confirm it, Lucy was working for the Templars the whole time. If that's what you mean by double-double-agent it's not hinted at in Revelations, it's flat out revealed.

REGARDLESS, it was pretty weak.

Shut your trap, Ethan!
