Mr W Phallus
Hmm, they'd have to come up with some actually good gameplay for Desmond, I guess. I don't mind playing lots of different ancestors, each small cog in the grand scheme of things, but I agree as far as Desmond's gameplay goes. I also thought the sections where you actually use the Apple in Brotherhood were the worst parts of the game. In fact, from discovering the Apple onwards, I thought the missions were pretty rubbish. Yantelope
I used a gamefaq for the truth puzzles. I also have high hopes that ACIII will be a Desmond centered game. I think the gameplay is just fine though.
CorgiShinobi
I think it would have to be a Desmond centered game. Who's next? A Pilgrim assassin, or an immigrant to the U.S. in the 19th/20th century? We have games like Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire.

Mr W Phallus
Erm, Victorian era please. Sword in a cane, bad ass top hat, Jack-the-Ripper as a Templar, Fagin as the head of the thieves guild, Nancy as the head of the courtesans. Someone make me this game now! Edit: Also you seem to be somewhat narrowly limiting it to an American descendent Atom. Edited August 31, 2011 by Mr W Phallus
CorgiShinobi
Edit: Also you seem to be somewhat narrowly limiting it to an American descendent Atom. I was thinking more of the time gap between games than actual locations. The first was set in the early 13th century, right? Then Ezio is in the late 15th to early 16th century. I thought maybe something progressive closer would be appropriate, though the Pilgrim thing was more of a joke.
CorgiShinobi
Double Post, but for reason. Gotta hand it to them for at least making an effort to explain everything. Also, it's probably concept art for the heck of it, but in the middle of the video you'll see a picture of an American Civil War Assassin. Perhaps I was on to something... I mean, others have picked up on it. http://www.pcgamer.c...l-war-assassin/ Edited September 2, 2011 by Atomsk88

TheFlyingGerbil
did you see how big the download for the beta is? It's a bit near the start of the month to blow my broadband allowance.

Waldorf and Statler
So has the topic of whether a certain someone is still throughout the next game been discussed yet?
TheFlyingGerbil
2.6GB? poo. Does anyone want my beta code? I'm not 100% sure if it's linked to my account but you're welcome to try it.
CorgiShinobi
I've noticed a few of us have posted the PS3 cover when reserving Revelations, so this should be pretty amazing news: You'll receive a free copy of the original Assassin's Creed. I started with AC2, for $5, and I received Brotherhood as a gift. Essentially I've spent about $73 on this four game trilogy. EDIT: It seems you can't directly link to GT news articles without the forum formatting it into a media link. TheFlyingGerbil
that's weird to give away a game that's already available on the current gen console. Not that I'm complaining. Having said that I can't imagine will sway many people to the PS3 version as I would have thought most people will have already played it. edit: maybe it would have been more of an incentive if they'd added trophy support to it? That's most likely something to do with Gametrailers hosting mainly videos. You could use a URL shortener? IT shouldn't shrink it unless it has the video codes in it though. Thing is adding AC:R to my pile would make things both expensive, and with the Batman delay a lot in November.
TheMightyEthan
I played AC1 and 2 on 360, then moved over to PS3 for Brotherhood and now Revelations. The fact that they're giving me AC1 with Revelations now makes me feel like I should get AC2 on PS3 to round out my collection.... Stupid (fake) OCD. *Edit* @Dean: AC1 is included with all the discs in the first production run. So it's not just preorders, but it also won't be there forever. CorgiShinobi
Yeah, it's only for the first production run. No word on whether the first game will have any trophy support; some assuming it won't because that would require "effort" on Ubi's part. TheMightyEthan
Ubi said it won't. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/19/day-one-copies-of-assassins-creed-revelations-on-ps3-to-includ/
deanb
The first comment does kinda hit the nail on the head. Considering there's stuff like the PSP and DS versions of the game it would make more sense for one of those to be thrown in, Dead Space Extraction style, than the first game which most of us have. CorgiShinobi
Didn't the first have mixed reviews? Some would say it was good, but others would say it was terrible. Kinda the odd duck in a series that would have to try hard to be awful now. Maybe I'm assuming, but given how well-received the second game was, there could be a significant portion of gamers who have a collection similar to mine: Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood with Revelations pre-ordered. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, the response to AC1 was very mixed. I myself tried to play it once, played for a couple hours and quit because I didn't like it at all, then about a year later picked it back up and absolutely loved it. Strangelove
To be honest, AC2 and Brotherhood are the only well reviewed ones in the entire series. AC1, Bloodlines, and Altair Chronicles are pretty awful. At least in my personal experience. I have no idea about AC2 Discovery. It wouldnt surprise me if ti was actually good. By all accounts, anything with Altair as the main character seems to turn out shitty. Thats why I personally dont give a shit about Altair. Thats why most people like Ezio too im sure. He's in all the good ones.
TheMightyEthan
I'm sick of Ezio, but I'm not sick of Altair. Then again, I've never played any of the side-titles.
CorgiShinobi
Has anyone else ever wondered what the heck that chunk of metal on Ezio's wrist is (on the cover)? The "Hook Blade."Or should I say the whuk blade. You see, it has two parts: the hook and the blade. (You'll get this once you watch the video.)
