Mr. GOH!
Changed my order to an EVGA 970 ACX 1.0 because it was briefly in stock while the MSI's have not been in stock. Fedex tells me it will arrive at my office tomorrow! Downside is that I have Yom KIppur services with my fiancee, and then dinner in Park Slope until 10pm. Which is very nice, but I will need to install my new toy so so badly. Edit: *judges FLD so harshly for the trash Vita game he claims is "legit"* Edited October 2, 2014 by Mr. GOH! toxicitizen
Edit: *judges FLD so harshly for the trash Vita game he claims is "legit"* It is! At least, as far as being a rhythm game goes, i.e. the gameplay. Everything else is subjective, of course. Your tolerance for this kind of music will definitely make or break this one. Personally I just want to play fun video games, I couldn't care less about everything else.
Alex Heat
Got PS4 Destiny as an early birthday gift from a friend (it counts because he gave me the money specifically to buy Destiny rather than getting me the game outright).
TheMightyEthan
Alright, you have an hour and a half to get to level 26 and join us on the raid.
Saturnine Tenshi
@FLD: I have the demo of that on my PS3. Seemed decent (and I don't mind the music), but I never got around to buying it. Had it on pre-order at one point.
Alex Heat
Alright, you have an hour and a half to get to level 26 and join us on the raid. Okay! I did it! Seriously though, I'm kinda taking a short break right now because killing Zyon the Unwed yesterday to get Thorn was just so frustrating and mentally draining. 15-30 minutes of fighting Epic adds consisting almost entirely of shielded Knights and Wizards? Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh.
toxicitizen
Lol. The way those two pics are stuck together made me do a double take. "Ultimax is on 3DS? What?!" Glad to see I'm not the only one here who got Ultimax. Is that the PS3 version? If so, we should try to set up some matches or whatever. I'm not sure if I have you on my PSN friends list.
Alex Heat
Unfortunately, it's the 360 version. My usual gaming group surprisingly chose it over the PS3 version...which I guess makes sense since we all had the 360 version of P4A vanilla. toxicitizen
Oh, that's too bad. Now you won't get to see how utterly shit I am at fighting games. edit: I actually pre-ordered it before I even started the first one but now that I've finished it I know I'll definitely want to play the next one. It's not coming out until January but 3-4 months isn't too bad of a wait considering the first one just came out a few weeks ago. Alex Heat
I'd been meaning to pick this up for a while now. Couldn't say no to Amazon's asking price of $24.
Saturnine Tenshi
Hope you enjoy it, FLD. I think Victory was the most polished of the three (Re;Birth 2 is the equivalent of Mk II IIRC), but they all suffered from a lot of game design flaws. Mk II was . . . all right. toxicitizen
From what I understand, these remakes are all based on Victory's gameplay. I heard the first couple games on PS3 were pretty bad and I really didn't get that from Re;Birth. And yeah, Re;Birth 2 is Mk II. They also just announced Re;Birth 3 a couple weeks ago, a remake of Victory. It's coming out in Japan around December, I think. @AlexHeat: So jealous. I fucking love Platinum Games and W101 looks so good. If I had more disposable income, I'd probably buy a Wii U just to play it. Oh and Bayonetta 2. Vecha
I was thinking of getting wonderful 101...sounds like a crazy ass game.
Saturnine Tenshi
Well, I wouldn't say the first games were bad. They just had some questionable or irritating design at certain points.MkII had its moments anyway. But Victory was clearly the best. I don't plan on trying the Vita versions because A. I don't have a Vita and B. I don't like replaying games, especially RPGs. But hey, if you haven't played them, it's probably best to play the Re;birth titles. Oh, with respect to the English voice acting: that was a pretty big issue on the forums. Lots of complaining there. (Didn't actually use English myself.) toxicitizen
So, even the PS3 versions only had partial dubs? I assumed it was only an issue with Re;Birth because apparently the localization was redone, for some reason. People on NeoGAF were complaining that some stuff like attack names and such were pronounced wrong in the new dub, despite using the same voice actors. Vecha
Since I totally didn't have any games to play(haha) I got a wii u and 5 games for it. Been in a Nintendo mood recently(that and it'll give my wife and I something to play together. She loves Mario Kart...picked it up mostly for her.)Legos...but GTA'd sounded intriquing...guess if I don't like it I'll return it to Gamestop in 7 days.Zombiu was super cheap(15 bucks) so, couldn't pass that up. Sadly, never played Windwaker(I was one of the jackasses who didn't like the cellshading(I was in middle school. You know..a "big kid."). And SM3DW looks fucking awesome! My Wii U came with SMBwiiu/luigi. So...guess you can add that to the list. Edited October 4, 2014 by Vecha
Saturnine Tenshi
@FLD: I'm pretty sure it's almost always the case with NISA games that English dubs are partial dubs, and there's always someone complaining about it.
Mal
Guys. I have a problem. I'm a graduate student who should be working instead of this. Then again it is hard to pass up it up for $31 (Thanks Brazil)... I'll get The Long Dark during a sale or once finished.
Mr. GOH!
Just got Alien: Isolation.
TheMightyEthan
I've put it in my buy-it-when-it's-$30 list.
Mr. GOH!
It was $30 for me with discounts and such. I like Alien and horror games, and the reviews make it sound like I'd enjoy it.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, the pacing issues some reviews mentioned could go either way for me, they might bug the crap out of me or they might not bother me at all.
TheFlyingGerbil
Vecha, can you let us (me) know what Lego city undercover is like when you give it a go. I've been interested in it but it's still £40 and I'm struggling to justify that sort of money on it.
deanb
Oh glob, bought Shadow Of Mordor. Managed to get it for £19 which is below my "I'll do it for £20" threshold.
