TheMightyEthan
Arkham Origins Blackgate. Debated between the PC and Vita versions, but settled on Vita because it's portable, I think the low production values will be easier to swallow on there, and if I don't like it I can resell it. Popular Post toxicitizen
How do you know I'm not Japanese?!?!!?! Which one are you again? Bottom right? Edited April 12, 2014 by FLD
Alex Heat
He's not a shiba inu. Therefore he is not Japanese.

toxicitizen
9 bucks on GMG after discount and voucher. Had some leftover credit but I didn't feel the need to use it, I've got a bunch of Playfire rewards waiting to be transferred so I'm saving it up for something bigger. Oh and kind of a reverse post but I made a last minute decision to cancel my Conception II pre-order. I still want it but I remembered that, on top of having to finish Persona 4 first, I also grabbed Ni no Kuni, FFXIII-2 and Tales of Xillia over the past few months. So I didn't really need another JRPG right now, there was no way I'd be playing it anytime soon. Besides, I'd rather save the 45 bucks to spend on Transistor and the PC port of Killer is Dead next month.
danielpholt
£6.55 on GMG I had planned on re-playing Arkham City before this, but with Arkham Knight coming out soon (ish..?), I should probably get cracking.
Strangelove
It's basically the same game, maybe a bit worse than City. Play either one, chances are you wont play them both one after the other. Thats like playing 2 Assassin's Creed games in a row, it's just not fun. TheMightyEthan
It's pretty significantly worse than City. Still a decent game though. Related: I played about an hour and a half of Blackgate last night, and I'm enjoying it so far. It definitely doesn't feel like the full-fledged Arkham games, but its design doesn't encourage you to expect that so it works anyway. Strangelove
Im waiting for a sale on the Vita version, or free on Plus. Im not a fan of playing mobile/handheld games on a big screen. Not just for graphics, but handheld games always "feel" like handheld games to me. For some reason, I cant get over that to enjoy it anywhere else.
TheMightyEthan
I agree, I actually got the Vita version for that reason (and so I could resell it if I didn't like it).
deanb
Ohh if Origins is only £6 I may have to grab that. Any particular deal to do it?
toxicitizen
I'm feeling the same way about Blackgate. Not as good but the metroidvania design translates back to 2D pretty naturally. Freeflow combat works surprisingly well, though. The PC version also looks surprisingly decent. Static art in cutscenes is a bit weird at first but the only thing that looked ugly so far was enemy textures when seen really up close and that only happened once or twice during scripted scenes. deanb
Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Better be good HotHeart.
Hot Heart
Regardless of the gameplay (even if it is a step up from the usual LEGO fare), it's well worth your £3.74. The first time you jump off the helicarrier or get to fly about NYC as Iron Man, you'll see.
TheMightyEthan
I, am, Iron Man. Doo-da-loo-da-doo-doo, Iron Man. - Me, every time I'm flying around as Iron Man in that game.
Hot Heart
"Turn! TUUUUUURN! Up! Noooo... UP! Wait, slow down. No, don't start falling!" - Me every time I'm flying round as Iron Man.
toxicitizen
Man, those LEGO deals are pretty tempting, especially Marvel and Batman 2. 5$ is total impulse purchase pricing. Problem is I grabbed the first LEGO Batman a while back and still haven't touched it so I have no idea whether I'll actually like the series or not. :/
TheMightyEthan
I hadn't played one since Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which I hadn't really liked all that much, but I'm really enjoying Marvel.
toxicitizen
Ethan. Hot Heart. If this doesn't kick all kinds of ass there is going to be hell to pay! Also because I remembered being really interested in it when it first came out. I was tempted to also get Batman 2: DC Super Heroes but I didn't really want to spend more than 10 bucks on these and I figured I should probably play the original first, anyway.
CorgiShinobi
I don't have time to snap a picture of it all, but... I exchanged the broken Vita for a working one back at the one store that still carried a few. Looking back, I'm not too surprised the one I grabbed ended up broken. Two of the seals were broken, but considering the third was still intact, I didn't think much of it. These were locked in a case so I didn't really get the chance to sort through the other six boxes. I got home from work and my screen protectors arrived today as well. Short of it is, the new Vita works perfectly, but the two pack of screen protectors was wasted. One protector was defective, so I only had one chance of a good protector. Went on great and was perfectly squared, but then I turned it on. A bit of lint found its way into the middle of the screen, and as much as I tried to ignore it, my dormant OCD came out like a beast and I peeled off the second protector. (I tried to remove the lint, but it was stuck on good to the protector.) It's just such a beautiful-ass screen not to notice some "forever lint." You just want to wipe it away, but it'll always stay! Besides, without a protector it makes cleaning the shiny handheld easier without a film in the way. The pack was $4.99, so nothing really lost (perhaps a potential Subway sandwich). I still had to get a memory card, right? The flaw to any Vita, but with the help of a friend, I got a 8GB card (to start) for around $13 with tax. So in the end, even with sales tax for retail prices, I think I came away with a good deal and can enjoy Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars! Oh, but I did get a hard case for my Vita because, like the PSP, I can't imagine this thing taking a beating in the slightest.
Strangelove
You really should buy the biggest card(64gb). Or at least a 32gb. Its expensive, but if you buy a smaller one and trade up, the resell value on those cards sucks ass.
TCP
Agreed. I have a 32 and it's not big enough. I'm considering importing a 64 but part of me thinks we might get 128s sooner or later. That would be so sweet. So very, very sweet. TheMightyEthan
Knowing Sony a 128 GB card would cost like $500.
TCP
Yeah, probably. They really need to lower the memory card prices again, I know they did recently but I still think that's the biggest problem with the Vita, the system itself is reasonably priced. toxicitizen
We still don't know if we'll even get the 64Gbs cards and you're already thinking we'll get 128GBs? What? I'm not sure if that's very optimistic or just kinda foolish. Let me guess, they'll bundle them with the Vita TV? Because that's totally coming here as well.
