I also remember hearing two other names a while back that I thought would have been better choices than Gadot, at least where body type is concerned.

Gina Carano

Lynn Collins

I don't know how good they are as actresses but Snyder picked a woman because of her experience in Fast and Furious so he was already setting the bar pretty low.

Gotham premiered tonight. It was pretty bad.

Basically, Ryan Atwood from the OC plays a young Jim Gordon, but his acting still sucks. In fact, so does everyone's acting. At one point, Jim Gordon and his partner are interviewing a guy (Poison Ivy's father) and he makes a run for it, turns around and starts shooting at Gordon. Eventually Papa Ivy tackles Officer Gordon and almost stabs him in the face. What happens next is a bit of a spoiler... but not really, but I'll spoiltag it.

So right before the guy is about to kill Gordon, his partner shoots the guy. Afterwards they realize the crime they thought he was guilty of wasn't him, and Gordon says multiple times "WE KILLED AN INNOCENT MAN!!". Only, not really, he ran off suspiciously, shot at you, and then tried to kill you.

It didn't make any sense and it was surprising something like this didn't get fixed in the script, or when they were shooting, or editing... just weird.

Anyways, the entire thing was bullshit and I don't recommend watching it. I have no idea how they're going to sustain this concept for an entire season, or (doubtful) multiple seasons.

That is weak as shit. Good rundown, you cow punching maniac.

Sounds like they tried to make a TV version of Gotham Central but went with a shitty Smallville angle. Very strong, uh, retardation

Edit: also, I defend Ben McKenzie because he was really good in that cop show. Southland? This'll be another example that an actor is only as good as their director/producers.

I haven't seen the show yet, but I've been real skeptical mostly because I imagine the show will have the prequel issue, where every character has a back story and becomes more deeply involved with Gotham and Bruce Wayne than they really should be. Batman's list of enemies should not have a massive influence in the show because a lot of them become who they are AFTER Batman is Batman.

Smallville managed to make it work without making the universe feel smaller, but that hasn't convinced me that Gotham can do the same.

I think the show wasn't that bad.  I do think the writing was too... obvious and compacted. "Okay, script writers, let's try to write in every character that goes against Batman from the span of decades and place them all into one episode.  Fanboys will appreciate it, because they are all dumbfucks."

That kind of drove me batty (ha!  get it!).

In accordance with full disclosure, I had just taken some heavy duty allergy meds an hour beforehand.

I plan on adding this to my fall tv viewing.

BTW, when does The Flash start?  I'm more interested in that one, anyway.
