TCP
The Flash premiers October 7th, which I have a lot more faith in than Gotham due to the Arrow people being involved and the set up in season 2 of Arrow.
TheFlyingGerbil
did anyone carry on watching Gotham? I think I'm on the second or third episode. Don't want to keep watching if it doesn't pick up .The worst person so far is Sean Pertwee - he is not butler material. TheRevanchist
The show does get better on episodes 4, 5, and 6. I thought the first few episodes were okay, but the episode from last week had some great tension, and Bruce Wayne becomes more tollerable. TheFlyingGerbil
I'll keep going then, thanks.
TheRevanchist
Sorry I couldn't be of more detailed help, but spoilers are a funny thing. Sean Pertwee was probably hired as more of a care taker than a butler for the series. You can tell he's going to be more involved, as he's definitely not a side character for the long run, but someone crucial to Bruce. I think Alfred's background is too vital to the character to not use in the show. Really, they are developing the characters and storylines still while little things are happening. Episode 6 really packs a good punch from all of the happenings, IMO.
TheFlyingGerbil
i just think every time I've seen alfred in previous incarnations he's dignified but in this seems like a cockney chancer and it doesn't sit right. I'm sure I''ll get over it if the rest of the show is enjoyable.
TheRevanchist
Cockney chancer? Does this mean arrogant a-hole?
TheFlyingGerbil
yeah, roughly. Not sure of an american equivalent. Someone who's grown up in the city and is not afraid to take advantage of a grey area.
TheRevanchist
I think he proved himself a cockney chancer.

deanb
Seems they're going with, and heavily lathered on in the trailer, the "Lex hates Superman cos he's an unaccountable alien and humanity is nothing to him" angle. Which is a good angle to go. Also Dark Knight Returns mechsuit.
deanb
Batflek. btw, as long as they keep Hans Zimmer around I'll be happy. Soundtrack was really good.

deanb
http://youtu.be/Du-eYiD9OfM Superman in colour It was pretty terribly coloured (well uncoloured even). Not a huge fan of DC's "let's make everything DARKNESS, NO PARENTS"

toxicitizen
I kinda like it but they seriously overdid it with the tattoos. I'm more interested in the kind of portrayal they're going for than the character's visual design anyway.

Mister Jack
I just can't see the Joker sitting still long enough to get either those tattoos or that grille.
Strangelove
Only thing that annoys me is that he ripped off 2000s Marilyn Manson. It should have been the 90s version. Maybe around the Mechanical Animals phase. Honestly, it doesn't really matter. The Joker is the Joker. There's been tons of versions and there can be another. As long as he looks like a clown and does crazy shit, that should be just fine. Plus, the one from that Batman cartoon a few years back is the worst one ever. It can't be topped. Nice try, Leto. Thursday Next
What has been seen... P.S. I pretty much just want to see this movie just so that I can watch "Super"man get his arse handed to him. I *hate* Superman. deanb
Wait, when you say "this movie", just to check folks are aware Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad (where Leto Joker is from) are two different films (though them releasing media for both so close to each other probs isn't helping much with keeping them apart). @SL: You don't mean Hamills Joker right? (Also the one from Arkham Asylum)
Thursday Next
just to check folks are aware Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad (where Leto Joker is from) are two different films I was not. Obviously scheduled by that same guy that thought that releasing the Mad Max game the same day as MGSV:TPP was a brilliant idea.
TheMightyEthan
This is the first I've heard of Suicide Squad, I also assumed that Joker was for Batman v. Superman. *Edit - I also didn't realize that Man of Steel was the first film of the DC shared universe. That's not promising. Also, are Arrow and the Flash TV show part of the universe or not? I saw that there is a Flash movie coming out in 2018. Edited April 27, 2015 by TheMightyEthan
Strangelove
No, Hamill Joker is best Joker. I meant this asshole. Edited April 27, 2015 by Strangelove
