toxicitizen
Man, so much early behind-the-scenes crap and it's only one hour? I'm really getting the impression they had very little to actually show...
Mister Jack
God damn, even the Mirror's Edge trailer is behind the scenes? Did all of EA's studios just spend the past two years jerking off?
Mal
Guys, I'm scared for Mirror's Edge.
toxicitizen
Seriously, at this point I'm wondering why they even bothered having a presser.
deanb
Anyone noticing either a lot of "conceptual prototype" stuff, or just games that were shown last E3 but still a year off to release. How much harder are next-gen games to make? Seems to be something that's consistently taken a lot of developers off guard. Or is there a lack of 8th gen consoles on the market and publishers holding off to wait for increased pay-off? 2015 certainly going to be pretty chocka though. TCP
I guess this officially makes 2014.... THE YEAR OF THE INDIE! EDIT: That was it? Jesus. Even Nintendo could top that. Unless they end their show with fireworks from Nintendoland again. The art of "oh... and one more thing..." is dead I guess. toxicitizen
Lol. Tried to sign up for the Hardline beta but battlefield.com died pretty much instantly. But man, that sure was an underwhelming press conference. Did they actually formally announce anything? Edited June 9, 2014 by FLD

Well yeah, Steve Jobs is dead.
toxicitizen
So far this has been fairly boring. I guess it's up to Sony to once again save E3? Or maybe Ninte-hahahahaahahahahaha!
Strangelove
We were all wondering what EA was going to show, but what is Ubi going to show? Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Just Dance? That doesnt fill up an hour.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, Ubi already showed everything at MS's conference.
toxicitizen
Probably The Division again? It was weird how they showed two of their biggest games at the Microsoft presser, yeah. Definitely Far Cry. Maybe an actual announcement? I'm not getting my hopes up.
TCP
Ass Creed Unity, Ass Creed Comet, Far Cry 4, some more of those UbiArt games, The Division, Just Dance..... a Blood Dragon Sequel?EDIT: Oh isn't The Crew Ubisoft? Edited June 9, 2014 by The Cowboy Poet
toxicitizen
Blood Dragon would completely steal the show from Far Cry 4 so I really doubt it. Was AC Comet ever confirmed?
Strangelove
Theyll probably show AC Comet and another Unity trailer. Maybe a story trailer. I also forget to mention this, but Im surprised MS didnt get Kojima again to show up. Maybe Kamiya was cheaper. TCP
I don't think Ubisoft has said "Comet" yet but they've confirmed two Ass Creed games are in development... IIRC.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, Comet's confirmed. They confirmed it when Unity originally leaked. @SL: I think MS kind of soured to Kojima after he posted comparisons clearly demonstrating that the PS4 version of MGSV was graphically superior to the Xbone version.
Strangelove
Oh yeah. Oh well. I dont play the Souls games, but Im assuming that if this Project Beast game is real and exclusive, the hardcore crowd is going to bury the exclusive Platinumgames game. At it stands, I think From Software has more popularity and pull than Platinumgames. And I mention these two studios because they seem to be the only 2 independent Japanese studios people still care about. They both have good track records. toxicitizen
Well, yeah. I don't think Platinum have a single major hit to their name, sadly. Their biggest is most likely Rising and the Metal Gear brand probably had more to do with it.
TCP
Ugh fucking Just Dance go to hell.
TheMightyEthan
I find Aisha Tyler so irritating during these conferences.
Mister Jack
Seems a little odd for Ubi to do the prerendered CG trailers AFTER the gameplay trailers.
TheFlyingGerbil
Just finished watching the MS conference (late I know, sorry!), I thought it was funny the highlight reel they ended on had a song that kept repeating "give it to me now" when half the games they showed had 2015 release dates. That Inside game from playdead reminded me of Another World for some reason so that was a bit of a flashback. Apart from that it seemed decent but not exciting, the main problem is since most stuff is multi-platform it doesn't really generate and strong attachment to Xbox. One thing it did make me wonder as since it is so full of games we already know about and multiplatform games, I can't see how Nintendo are going to fill and hour (and a half) since it pretty much will only have first party stuff to show and that's only a small handful of games. TCP
Ass Creed Unity is so so pretty. This reminds me of AC2/B, which is a good thing.
Mal
Valiant Hearts: The Great War should be interesting enough. Also, it is pretty cool that there is going to be a WWI Apocalypse documentary. There is a WWII one and it is excellent (Even though I don't quite agree with some of their assessments).
