E3 2014 Predictions

Anyone noticing either a lot of "conceptual prototype" stuff, or just games that were shown last E3 but still a year off to release. How much harder are next-gen games to make? Seems to be something that's consistently taken a lot of developers off guard. Or is there a lack of 8th gen consoles on the market and publishers holding off to wait for increased pay-off?

2015 certainly going to be pretty chocka though.

I guess this officially makes 2014.... THE YEAR OF THE INDIE!

EDIT: That was it? Jesus. Even Nintendo could top that. Unless they end their show with fireworks from Nintendoland again. The art of "oh... and one more thing..." is dead I guess.

Yeah, Comet's confirmed.  They confirmed it when Unity originally leaked.

@SL:  I think MS kind of soured to Kojima after he posted comparisons clearly demonstrating that the PS4 version of MGSV was graphically superior to the Xbone version.

Oh yeah. Oh well.

I dont play the Souls games, but Im assuming that if this Project Beast game is real and exclusive, the hardcore crowd is going to bury the exclusive Platinumgames game. At it stands, I think From Software has more popularity and pull than Platinumgames.

And I mention these two studios because they seem to be the only 2 independent Japanese studios people still care about. They both have good track records.

Just finished watching the MS conference (late I know, sorry!), I thought it was funny the highlight reel they ended on had a song that kept repeating "give it to me now" when half the games they showed had 2015 release dates. That Inside game from playdead reminded me of Another World for some reason so that was a bit of a flashback.

Apart from that it seemed decent but not exciting, the main problem is since most stuff is multi-platform it doesn't really generate and strong attachment to Xbox. One thing it did make me wonder as since it is so full of games we already know about and multiplatform games, I can't see how Nintendo are going to fill and hour (and a half) since it pretty much will only have first party stuff to show and that's only a small handful of games.
