deanb
This should be pretty good, especially given the background of Jackman.
deanb
This looks like trash. I think after 2012/Day After Tomorrow the "global disaster film" had kinda died off.
Hot Heart
Not a trailer, but anyone who hasn't seen Baby Driver can watch the first six minutes (the best bit of the film) thanks to Sony Pictures France.
deanb
I'm just not wholly feeling it. Kinda liking they've still got all the since bankrupt companies in there.
Thursday Next
I'm really liking it. It's kept the aesthetic which I totally loved. Will deffo watch this.
deanb
I'll be honest I've never seen The Room, but cultural osmosis n all that My sis is pretty hyped. And new Guilmero Del Toro film Abe Sapien? (same actor too) Seemingly based on 5th book of a series so no idea how that'll work out. Fassbender though, which always helps. This is probably not gonna be too great but looks kinda cool

deanb
The "from the director of" sequence really doesn't instil hope, but it's certainly different. Shadowrun: The Film I guess.
deanb
Ready Player One trailer. Gonna be slick looking at least. Loads other bits n bobs rolling out of SDCC.

Saturnine Tenshi
I can't get over this Godzilla dubbing.
deanb
So first we have this weird thing with Bruce Willis. He is slowly retroactively making the earlier Die Hards bad. This looks like a sort of concept might be fine but just something kind of off in this trailer: And a new sci-fi thingy from Netflix
Hot Heart
Short film that acts as a prequel for the new Blade Runner film. Might skip it since the last trailer had me intrigued enough and I'd like to go in with as little knowledge as possible.
deanb
Huh. Could be interesting. I'd say given the cast we're looking at a comedy, but from a concept certainly sci-fi. Also the film my sis is hype for:
deanb
So I've just started Rise of the Tomb Raider, and not much of a Tomb Raider person on the previous games (apart from locking up the butler in the freezer), are Trinity a common enemy in them then or something new brought about for the new run of games and the film? Also I wonder if this film will have bits where she straight up dies...then redoes it again. Heck even if they do it in some timey-wimey way like they did with Angelina and Jorah in the first film. (bonus GoT-Tomb Raider stuff: in the second the bad guy is Mance Rayder.. This implies that "Ornela" of the Dosh Khaleen will be the baddy in this one). TheFlyingGerbil
Wes Anderson's next film. I loved Fantastic Mr. Fox so hope this lives up to that.
deanb
Yeah it looks pretty cool, guess he liked the experience of making Fantastic Mr Fox. Cool to see more stop motion coming out.
Mister Jack
The worst part is that for the first few seconds it actually looks interesting, like Babe or something, but then they had to go and Sony things up.
deanb
Wow, someone totally missed the charm of Peter Rabbit didn't they. And certainly didn't watch Paddington. Also James Corden is a knob.
Mister Jack
Was Paddington good? I didn't watch it because I just assumed it would be awful like all these CGI movies about beloved childhood characters usually are. It would be nice if there was an exception. deanb
I only half watched it with my siblings, but it was pretty dang charming. It was good enough that it's getting a sequel.
Mr. GOH!
I loved the book series, which seemed almost unfilmable to me, but this looks like it will be pretty interesting. With this and Blade Runner coming up, it looks like a good time to be a fan of smart sci fi movies.
deanb
It's funny to see the animated side already far exceed the live action side in having a kind of "cinematic universe" set up (several of the films do link up, continuing from Flashpoint Paradox). It's a shame (though for 30 films, understandable) that it's over $200. Also:
