CorgiShinobi
Honestly, I want this to be a great film. It has great potential, but at the same time it bugs me. It seems like the reason there has to be two pilots is because you need one for each arm given the controls for one arm take up a pilot's torso. It just seems like an unnecessary step to make this giant mech movie different from other giant mech movies/shows.
deanb
Wait, I thought they said they're going to get rid of the Glados voice, and it was just for the initial trailer to get attention. And yeah, given it's Del Toro figured it'll have something to it, but so far it's looking pretty Transformer-like quality.
TheMightyEthan
What I had read didn't say they were getting rid of it, just that they were toning down how much it actually sounds like GLaDOS. *Edit* - Is it weird that the thing that killed my immersion in that trailer was the giant robot swinging that cargo ship around? I was like "Man, that thing would break in half if you tried to lift it from one end like that." deanb
Some more Red 2. Looks like I've a film a month from April through to July at this point.

Hot Heart
One for Dean, I think, since it combines Rachel McAdams in another film featuring time-travel with Richard Curtis romantic comedy.

CorgiShinobi
Good, someone else posted the new trailer. The only thing that still bugs me is that stupid "mind meld" plot point. It simply reeks of gimmick, but as it's in a summer blockbuster, I might be able to overlook it. Thing is, I'm sure it'll play some pivotal role in the so called "character development." BrainHurtBoy...2
Oh, God, Pacific Rim looks so good. I will be so disappointed if it doesn't work out. I ache for western kaiju.
Waldorf and Statler
Why is it stupid? You haven't even given the movie a chance to explain why it requires two pilots man. I mean before the age of Gundam I'm sure somebody said "why are those robots humanoid and wielding laser swords and have a face?"
CorgiShinobi
Why is it stupid? You haven't even given the movie a chance to explain why it requires two pilots man. I mean before the age of Gundam I'm sure somebody said "why are those robots humanoid and wielding laser swords and have a face?" No, that was always cool. It's simply an out of place plot point that, to me, has great potential to muddle an otherwise awesome movie. We've seen TV series and movies where there are two pilots, but this business of "fusing two minds, memories, and feelings" isn't necessary for something with giant monsters and giant mecha. Watch, pilot dude loses his partner after a battle, and the resulting damage has affected his brain to where he can't separate his own identity with his partner's memories. Strangelove
This movie might actually be good now.
Waldorf and Statler
That actually looked way better than the first trailer. The first trailer looked like such a step backwards for comic book movies
toxicitizen
It's like every new trailer is better than the previous one. I really hope the movie lives up to the expectations. I don't think I've ever wanted a movie to be great more than I do this one.
Strangelove
Do people have GOOD expectations for it? If anything, i hope it exceeds expectations, cus im sure most people think the movie will suck. A lot. I personally think itll suck. But I hate Superman, and Zack Snyder, more or less. toxicitizen
I don't know about most people but the trailers have been pretty good so far. Nolan's involvement also makes me hopeful. But, let's face it, there hasn't been a good Superman movie is a very long time. I personally liked Superman Returns but it wasn't exactly what I'd call a great movie... TheMightyEthan
Nolan's involvement is the only reason I'm paying attention at all. Generally speaking Superman is a lame character.

Hot Heart
For some reason, I'm still thinking a Wolverine film could be good. Anyway, decided to link a load of stuff that caught my eye, even if it's not particularly new. Next film from the 'Drive team'. Kristin Scott Thomas is unrecognisable and friggin' scary. Looks like standard uplifting indie fare, but it's directed by the writers of The Descendants (aka. Community's Dean and his partner). Also...Sam Rockwell. No more needs to be said. Also, this might be good? http://www.nerdist.com/2013/05/new-red-band-trailer-for-the-kings-of-summer/ Edited May 22, 2013 by Hot Heart

TheMightyEthan
Okay, I'm confused, is the X1-X3 + Origins: Wolverine + The Wolverine in the same timeline as First Class and Days of Future Past, or are they just running two separate film series at the same time?
