deanb
Hells yeah, Asterix & Obelix was kick ass when I was a kid. I hope it comes out in English though.
Hot Heart
Not exactly who I envisioned for Christian... and definitely not for Deena (unless they've gone straight to Enki?) and the trailer makes the tone look a little off (I know they're keeping lower budget) but I guess I'll give it a watch since it'll be free on PS+.
deanb
Yeah, in the comic (though I'm not too far in) he's built like superman. Sharlto is a bit too slim, but I guess as long as he can act the role it'll be fine. (II should add he's a bit more South African than I'd expect of Christina )
Mister Jack
There's no trailer for the new Terminator movie yet but holy shit this sounds like the worst thing ever. http://io9.com/terminator-genisys-insane-plot-reveal-is-a-total-nightm-1652315938

deanb
I guess this was always going to be a thing, the Minion merchandising has always been pretty heavy to the point you wouldn't think Gru is even a thing. edit: http://youtu.be/OXwichuGW28 Johnny 5 is ALLIIVVEE
TheFlyingGerbil
what was despicable me 2 like? I thought the first one was OK, but didn't particularly like the minions, not as good as the Madagascar penguins.
Mister Jack
Is it me or are there a lot of robot movies coming out? Also Despicable Me 2 was okay, but not as good as the first one because there was too much focus on the minions. In fact, the credits flat out had them putting up a sign that said MINION MOVIE. deanb
So based on the trailer it seems they're sticking relatively close to their original animated counterpart (unlike the "retelling" Maleficent went with (I've still yet to see that). deanb
This seems like it'll be a pretty well done film. Been a while since I've read my Charlie Brown books, not sure where they are at the moment actually. (also Blue Sky, are Ice Age folks) And in case you've not seen this teaser for the upcoming trailer:
Mal
Dropped early because of Star Wars.
TheMightyEthan
lol, so now we're on to genetically engineered hybrid dinosaurs? Actually, I'm okay with that.
Vecha
Eh....seems kinda cheesy...guess I should turn my brain off and enjoy the goofiness.
Hot Heart
That looks like absolute shit. Edited November 25, 2014 by Hot Heart
deanb
Man, this just reminds me I'm substantially less movies this year than I'd wanted to watch. Kinda wish, beyond Marvels offerings, I knew folks I could be like "let's pop out for a film". I guess maybe it's just kinda pretty pricey. madbassman39
It looks like they're going the Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles route with the alternate history, but the plot synopsis still has me very concerned about this movie. Not to mention the terrible Salvation movie and the below expectations T3.
TheMightyEthan
Wow, what a stupid, stupid title. Also, isn't like the whole point of the Terminator series that you can make little changes to the past but no matter what you do you can't avert Judgement Day altogether?
Mal
They could have just left Sarah Connor saving Kyle for the actual movie surprise. I knew this was a reboot but I wasn't expecting the timeline to be shifted so much. Also Emily Clark? Can't say I can imagine her being Sarah Connor. If she was raised by Arnold, I would expect her to be more fit than what is portrayed. Again, god, what a terrible trailer. Way too much revealings. Waldorf and Statler
I had no idea an Asterix movie was being made. That shit, alongside Tintin, was huge in South America. North American people never seem to have gotten into it though as my friends didn't know who Tintin was when the movie came out. Did the made-for-tv cartoon films of Tintin and Asterix ever make it to Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon in the US? I'd love at least a subtitled version of this film
TheMightyEthan
I've never even heard of Asterix.
deanb
I read the comics as a kid. Always liked the play on words for the name. Like Chief Vitalstatistix, or the druid who supplies the potion: Getafix.
Mal
I will need to sneak a flask of something for this movie. I think the grad students in my department are hell bent on this.
TheRevanchist
Not the San Andreas I was hoping for. I didn't see one hooker ran over while some badass music played on the radio. I would need a flask to sit through this shit, as well.
