Quantum Break

I can't see the gameplay posted elsewhere, or a topic for this, so here it is. Looks real good. Like Alan Wake with time warping instead of light/dark mechanic.

And a main character who looks brilliant (though I understand we play more than one person). He seems really believable in his reactions and dialogue and acting. I'm impressed with Sam Lake, looks like his best work yet. Certainly best since Max Payne.

As we've said elsewhere, I reckon this game might the one which pushes me into getting an Xbone. Funny how the situation has swapped since last gen- last gen I used Xbox for multiplats and exclusives and PS3 only for exclusives; this gen I'm using PS4 for multiplats and exclusives and I'd happily get an Xbone just for exclusives like Quantum Break and Dead Rising (yes yes, I know DR aint an exclusive no more).

I know... I'm hoping that a) they fix the shooting a bit, b) they add more mechanics than shooting (e.g. puzzles, mystery investigation), c) we get more powers/ a good selection of them.

Those are tall orders; perhaps the more interesting environments and good characterisation will carry it. We play three people, which is a first for Remedy (except the brief Mona Sax bits), and is something which fixed GTAV in many small ways. And as much as Wake was narratively flawed, Sam Lake clearly has some chops as a writer.

Even Max Payne, when you look at it, has an utterly one dimensional core mechanic. It's always the pacing and level design that makes it great. Quantum Break's level design looks a lot better than Max Payne 3's at least...

It might be like Murdered: Soul Suspect- basic, basic gameplay which is still utterly enjoyable because the universe and characterisation is so good.
