Saturnine Tenshi
Christ. I thought it'd be something more exclusive. Where do you come in? I'd probably just have gotten the game tier if anything.
Mr. GOH!
I got the game and the beta, that's it.
Mr. GOH!
Double post, I know, but here's an interesting addendum to RPS's review that explores PoE's animancy and faith themes. Although I'm only about 1/3 of the way through PoE, I mainly agree with the essay. Edited March 30, 2015 by Mr. GOH!
madbassman39
Probably going to get a lot of hate for this question... Is there controller support? It's not going to stop me from playing the game, but I would love to have controller support in some of these CRPGs.
Mr. GOH!
No controller support, sorry. It wouldn't be very much fun with a controller, I'd think. I say this as a PC gamer who uses controllers on almost all controller-supported games and who laments the lack of controller support in the Mass Effect ports.
madbassman39
Ah. I'll still get it after I finish Original Sin and Wasteland. I'm loving the comeback of these old school RPGs.
Mr. GOH!
Me too. I'm enjoying PoE the most of the three, but they're all good. Excited for Torment next year, too.

Mr. GOH!
yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm backing it. Edit : Oh, cool, the investment side information is also open. Neat to examine, but I'm not putting down money as an investment, because I ain't rich enough to be an accredited investor, and I bet they'll hit the regulation cap on non-accredited investors pretty fast. Fun legal facts! Under SEC regulations, any unregistered company making an interstate public offering of securities may only accept at most 35 individual investors who are non-accredited. Accredited investors are those who made more than $200k last year (or $300k if joint income) and are worth at least $1 million dollars. I am certain Fig is bound by the regulation and will cap plebian investors. Plus, shares start at $1k. I'd rather put that money in a long-term investment. I don't need to diversify by investing in individual video games...I think. Hmmm. Edited January 26, 2017 by Mr. GOH!
Saturnine Tenshi
Yeah, even if you hadn't informed me why I probably can't invest anymore to begin with, I'd rather put the $1k elsewhere. Still, going to back this one. Didn't back the first, but after playing it I know it's worth it.
deanb
If you have $1k to invest I'd imagine there's much safer things, and with better returns, than crowdsourced video games. Or video games in general.
Mr. GOH!
Depends. If PE2 repeats PE's performance, you could get a 40%-50% over let's say 4 or 5 years. That's not bad at all, it's about equal to the return you'd get if your investment grew 9% or 10% each year with a compound interest rate, which is nuts for most short-term investments. deanb
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/09/04/pillars-of-eternity-tyranny-art/ A decent deep dive into replicating the old Baldurs Gate look using modern techniques with a team that haven't done an isometric RPG.
