Hot Heart
I just bought a Wii game... A FUCKING WII GAME!!! Digitally, on the Wii U! Waaaah!?!?! TIME TO GET MY WAGGLE ON: Don't know if you're aware of this. Since the friends token unlock system is now offline, you might want to grab one of these save files,, otherwise you won’t be able to unlock everything. TheFlyingGerbil
what does that do? It doesn't explain in the link.

deanb
what does that do? It doesn't explain in the link. The token system unlocks certain items, and means you can't 100% the game without it. Also I had to hang around town a bit and ended up getting this:
Thursday Next
I finished my Chris run in REHD and didn't really feel like doing one of those bullshit knife-only, real-survival or invisible enemies run. At least not right now. So, it was either going back to FFXIII or buying this. I've never actually played it so I'm really curious to see whether it'll live up to all the praise it gets on the internet. The last time I played an old Tim Schafer game was Psychonauts and I was not disappointed, so I'm kind of optimistic going into this one. I downloaded this last night too. Can't wait to play it!
toxicitizen
I downloaded this last night too. Can't wait to play it! So far I'm really enjoying it. The writing, characters and world are all really good. It actually feels like a Double Fine game in a lot of ways, so I'm assuming it was largely the same core team. The only issue I have is there's a tiny bit of "adventure game logic" to deal with. I can solve almost everything on my own but there's been a few times so far where I had to look up a solution. And it usually resulted in me going "how the fuck was I supposed to figure THAT out?!" and once even "I tried that and it didn't work!" Admittedly, I didn't really play many of these adventure games growing up, so I'm probably just awful at them. I also get bored very quickly if I spend more than 20 mins walking around aimlessly with no idea what to do.
OzuJL
For the sake of getting some variety to my endless loop of Skyrim and point-and-click adventure games, I bought Braid, Banished and Valiant Hearts: The Great War. I have already played the first two and they turned out to be great purchases.
TheMightyEthan
Completely forgot to mention that I bought and played Life Is Strange on PS4 on Friday.
TCP
How was it?
TheMightyEthan
Excellent. If you like any of the Telltale games then I can't recommend this enough.
toxicitizen
An early access game and a pre-order. I normally try to avoid both of those things but Darkest Dungeon looks so fucking good that I couldn't resist. I also recently sold a shitload of Steam cards, so I had a little over 30 bucks sitting in my wallet. That means I essentially got Darkest Dungeon for free and Oddworld at a 60% discount. That made it kind of easier to pull the trigger.
TCP
Redeemed some Club Nintendo coins... I was going to get Paper Mario (I originally typed Paper Metroid... COULD YOU IMAGINE?!) since I liked the Wii game so much but, let's get real, I'll never finish a 3DS RPG of that length. So I picked up: Since it'd probably work the best as a portable game. I also grabbed: On the Wii U, which I've never played before, somehow.
Mister Jack
You know what, you chose wisely. Paper Mario: Sticker Star sucked.
TheMightyEthan
I got the Wonderful 101.
toxicitizen
It'll be your first Platinum game, right? If so, make sure not to neglect any abilities. From what I understand, in W101 some of them are pretty much mandatory but easily missable if you don't carefully check the store or wherever it is they're unlocked. Platinum's games are great but they almost always have a point where they basically go "Have you mastered all your core mechanics yet? Because fuck you if you haven't." Which can be frustrating if you're a newcomer who's been mindlessly button-mashing his way through the game up to that point. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I tried Vanquish but decided I didn't like it about 15 minutes in. Picked up W101 because it was 600 coins on Club Nintendo in their going away bash, and I happened to have exactly 600 coins.
Mister Jack
I tried the demo for Wonderful 101 but I wasn't a fan of how you have to look away from the screen to see what you're drawing. I still have about 560 coins or so but I'm not sure what to do with them. Originally my plan was to get two 3DS games but I decided to go for that Majora's Mask bag after thinking about how it would probably be the first thing to go. I doubt I'll get 100 coins before June, especially since all Nintendo products going forward will not have a code, meaning I'd have to buy old games and hardware to get any coins and I can't think of any I'd want to get. OzuJL
I'm personally not a big fan of board and card games, but that Chrononauts sounds like a neat game.
Hot Heart
I'm personally not a big fan of board and card games, but that Chrononauts sounds like a neat game. Yeah, it sounds fun. Nice and simple, with a bit of chaos thrown in (as it's from the makers of Fluxx). I reckon I could find a tabletop game you'd like though.
OzuJL
^ Even if I had a tabletop game I was interested in, the bigger problem would be that I don't have anyone to play with at the moment.
toxicitizen
I've wanted it since it came out because of the positive reception but knowing I could've pre-ordered it for 13 bucks on GMG made it a little hard to pay 20 bucks for it. I checked Nuuvem just in case and it's 18% off right now. Came down to about 14 bucks after the currency conversion.
CorgiShinobi
Meant to post this three days ago. Normally I wouldn't bug you guys with small purchases, but considering each new wave of Amiibo become even rarer, this felt lucky. I had Toon Link pre-ordered through Amazon months ago, but the estimated delivery date was March 3rd. I thought maybe the release date for the entire wave was pushed back and thought nothing else. I went into Best Buy to buy a few movies when I thought of going through the video games. Took quick glances and there I saw a lone Toon Link on the bottom shelf. I snatched it and looked up the release date: February 1st. No other Wave 3 Amiibo were in sight, and so what I've learned in this new year I think will carry on throughout my life: Scalpers are some of the worst people, ever. Alex Heat
Used up the last of my Club Nintendo coins on them. Found'em at a garage sale for $3 each. Steal!
TheFlyingGerbil
If they were only $3 you didn't need to steal them!
