Strangelove
The people who are hardcore about these games would disagree, but ok.
Faiblesse Des Sens
The people who are hardcore about these games in my experience only care about technical aspects. The more complicated it is the more they like it. DMC4 is a slog to play as the systems aren't fun, the story isn't fun, the way they use Dante isn't good, and Nero is a shitty character. DMC3, DMC1, and DMC are really the only things I consider worth playing in the series.
TCP
Guys, guys, calm down! All Devil May Cry games suck equally. Edited June 26, 2015 by The Cowboy Poet
Baconrath
I've heard they're holding DMC4 to the "Capcom Test" wherein they probably won't make any more DMC games unless it sells a nebulous amount of copies. Oh, Capcom...
toxicitizen
Â I was gonna wait a bit, maybe until a sale, but it was so cheap on Nuuvem that I couldn't resist. Might play it while I wait for Arkham Knight to get patched up. Â Â I've heard they're holding DMC4 to the "Capcom Test" wherein they probably won't make any more DMC games unless it sells a nebulous amount of copies. Oh, Capcom... RIP DMC. Â I know a lot of people have bee asking for DMC5 for years but, personally, DmC 2 is what I really wanted. It's pretty obvious that the ship has sailed on that one, though. So, hopefully this sells enough for the morons at Capcom to wanna keep making them. A proper DMC3 remaster would make me so happy.
danielpholt
It'll take me a week to find the right images for this, so I'll present to you a handle list of my recent purchases. Ahem. Not sure if my wallet or my download speed took a bigger hit. Goodbye Netflix for a few weeks I guess. Hitman Sniper (iOS) - Not a good game A Story About My Uncle Tropico Hatoful Boyfriend Among The Sleep Game of Thrones: A Telltale Series Humble Borderlands Bundle Massive Chalice Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 Outlast Tropico 2 Her Story The Marvellous Miss Take The Witcher 3  I think that's everything. Currently playing Witcher 3; probably at about 45 hours at this point.  I've bolded those I'm most excited about.
Mister Jack
Man I didn't buy a single thing during this steam sale. Â That's the first time this has ever happened since I started using steam. Â It feels weird.
Mal
I was away during the sale so lucky me.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, my first time not buying anything too.
danielpholt
Most of the above list was picked up on GOG actually. They had some pretty nice deals on games, whereas Steam's offerings seemed to be a tad weaker. Although I might have already exhausted their catalogue of interesting titles.
TheFlyingGerbil
Â oreshika: tainted bloodlines. I remember being interested in it when they first announced it but kind of forgot as it wasn't clear it would have a western release. But it's popped up on Sony's Big in Japan sale for a bargain price so couldn't resist.
deanb
I've purchased Gone Home since I've got the pennies in my Steam wallet and it's 88% off. I guess after Batman I'll see what the hype is about.
Strangelove
Â Ive only played the prologue and first chapter, but I really like it. It plays really well and the graphics are decent. Good voiceacting too. Honestly, this is what I wish most indie games looked like instead of the pixel stuff. I wonder how long itll be for that to happen. Though I have no idea if this is indie, but I know the budget was small. From what I hear though, the game is too long. We'll see.
Mal
Yeah, a tad bit long but that last level bit makes up for it I think. Too bad it doesn't carry over to New Game +... I'm stoked for the sequel. Â Edit: I didn't realize it was ported over. A quick search seems to indicates that this is a good port so here I go. I really just want a nice short cheery game. TCP
Just upgraded my crappy old Wii Virtual Console version of Ocarina of Time to the Wii U version for a cool $2.... cause what the fuck else am I going to play on that system?!?!?
TheFlyingGerbil
splatoon! have you tried it? It's great.
toxicitizen
There were some sales on PSN this week that I couldn't resist. Â Â Â Â I've been curious about Monster Monpiece for a while but the only reason I finally bought it is because it was only 4 bucks. If I end up hating it, no big loss there. Â As for Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, I had a blast with SMT: Nocturne last summer so I've been meaning to get them for a while. I still don't own a 3DS so they're pretty much my only option if I want to play some more Megaten games. Which I really, really do. I'll probably try to find the time to play them before the end of the summer. Edited July 5, 2015 by FLD

toxicitizen
Probably because My Chemical Romance broke up.
Saturnine Tenshi
DDS is friggin' great. The only issue I had with the games was that one of the final bosses required you to have a very specific build to beat it. So if you didn't build your characters in that way you needed to go back and grind in order to do so.
toxicitizen
That's good to hear. And yeah, Nocturne could be pretty unforgiving at times so I'm not too surprised to hear that this is similar in that regard.
Strangelove
I really disliked DDS1 when it came out. Back then I didnt know about the SMT series, but I thought the character art and graphics looked fantastic(which they do), but I got really bored with the game. I spent hours inside a dungeon with barely any dialogue or story being told. It just felt empty. Like nothing was happening. I wonder if that gets better the more you play it. In a way it felt like the complete opposite of Persona 3 and 4. Just fights, fights, fights and no story whatsoever.
Saturnine Tenshi
P3 and P4 had plenty of cop-out copy-paste dungeons to grind through, though.
toxicitizen
Nocturne was also like that, with a very minimal story. I'm surprised to hear that about DDS, though, since I heard it was more of the "Final Fantasy version" of Shin Megami Tensei, with a bigger focus on story and characters or something. Â But yeah, you shouldn't compare SMT games with Persona. Or rather, you shouldn't go into any proper SMT game and expect Persona. Persona aren't true Megaten games, ATLUS only slapped the Shin Megami Tensei label on P3 and P4 for brand recognition. They're a completely separate series in Japan, not a spin-off of SMT, and it looks like that's about to be true in the West as well. As far as I'm aware, none of the recent releases (PQ, P4G, DAN and even P5) have the SMT moniker. Edited July 6, 2015 by FLD
Saturnine Tenshi
So many Persona releases I haven't even played. Haven't touched it since P4. Â Anyway, DDS definitely has a story in there.
