Games You've Bought 2015

I was kinda tempted but even at 40% off it's still almost 50 bucks over here. Fuck off with that shit, Ubi. I just bought Rogue and Unity, anyway, and still haven't played Black Flag. Being a few years behind on this series is actually kind of awesome.

Also, it's kind of hilarious to see them giving it such a deep discount on Steam like 2 weeks after the PC launch. Looking at SteamSpy, it looks like it only sold about 40K units on Steam. That franchise fatigue...

Yeah IIRC week 1 sales were very low for Syndicate but week 2 were pretty strong, probably due to good word of mouth. Not surprising, people were pretty burned by Unity. Hopefully Ubisoft learned they can't just release broken games lolol what am I saying.

You may recall that I raved about this game a long while back. Well, that was the first edition, which is brilliant (and also no longer available, nor seeing a reprint).

This is a more streamlined, accessible version that aims to capture the thrill and paranoia of the original. Since it's tough to bring out the original on regular occasions, and I have an additional, less-experienced board gaming group now, this version seems a wise choice. No longer do you have to spend ages going over the rules each and every time, struggling to remember all the special cases yourself as well. Set up looks quicker, with fewer tokens and cards, while it sounds like it's quicker-playing and retains the same atmosphere and tactical elements.

Couldn't resist. I love ASW's fighting games and the price was pretty reasonable, especially after the launch week discount.

Also won this from a giveaway on NeoGAF

Oh and the guy that made Hexcells has a new puzzle game out

It's pretty good. Like a cross between Hexcells and Picross (or so I heard, I have no idea what Picross is).

Seriously though, got a good deal on it (£220 new) and I knew I'd crumble sooner or later may as well be now as I'm sick of looking at them. Surprised I got it before the ps4 which is the one I want more but there are no bundles with that that grab me since I missed the 1tb watch dogs+syndicate one.of Course I don't want to actually set it up until my broadband is working so I've got a frustrating wait ahead of me.

So, the idea of getting a 3DS has been floating in my head on and off all year. And, now that they finally announced that Dragon Quest VII and VIII are getting localized, of course it's back in full force. I was looking at prices on Amazon and spotted this

for 30 bucks brand new. Finding an Atlus Limited Edition a year after release isn't that unusual but they're usually grossly overpriced. This one was actually cheaper than the regular edition. I figured it had to be a pricing error, so I ordered one expecting it to be cancelled. A week later, my card's been charged and there's a shipping notice in my inbox. Should be here tomorrow. I guess maybe Amazon found some leftover stock in their warehouse and wanted to unload it asap or something?

Anyway, so, yeah, looks like I'll finally be getting that 3DS in the near future.

Welp, I was gonna wait until after Christmas but my financial aid for next semester came in like a week earlier than usual so...

I didn't want Smash but it was free as a soft bundle so meh. Kinda wish I'd been able to pick another game. I don't really care about the series, so I'll probably just sell it. Also had to get an AC adapter, because Nintendo are fucking morons, and EBGames annoyingly didn't seem to have the official one so I had to order it from Amazon instead.

I couldn't resist after watching someone stream this game. You build a metro network with the normal failure state of overcrowded stations. It's simplicity and art direction pretty much screams mobile game but it works and is released first on PC. One reason I got this is because I get the mobile version when it comes out. After sinking in two six hours of game time, I think it'll transition into a great mobile game (average round of 15-20 minutes).
