TheFlyingGerbil
Picked up Lifeline. Android Police mentioned the Martian app and how it's like Lifeline and I'm like "oh yeah, I'd been interested in that", checked it out and it's on sale for 77p so picked it up. I bought this after you posted about it and have been playing it, and it' smacking me feel like I wouldn't cope very well with a telltale game. TheFlyingGerbil
Ooh. I haven't killed him at all yet... Nice to know that's looming over my choices. That will definitely help with my dislike of making decisions.
deanb
Picked up Rebel Galaxy. Have seen bits and bobs and perked up my interest. Watched a bit of the "Quick Look" and read some of the reviews and seemed it'd be up my street. Pretty fun so far. It's more of a "arcedy" experience (as picked up by Gianbomb lot) but I quite like that. I've got my turrets set on auto for most part (you can pick the kind of targets the auto-lock on to), and mainly use my broadside for manual mode, ripping through hulls when shields are down. Â There's quite a bit of depth in kitting yourself out, probably need to play with a few styles. The Command Ships are quite a bitch though, had upgraded a chunk and figured I could take one on. I'd gotten better but still blew me up. Only sorta annoyance is it only saves in stations (which now I'm learning coding for games makes sense to me on why) but it's not a huge issue since you're usually going between them and if you're destroyed it's usually on a mission you just picked up from a station. TheMightyEthan
Anyone played both that and Jupiter: the Nexus Incident? Â Cause the combat looks kind of similar and I really fucking loved the combat in JTNI, especially at the beginning when you only have one ship. Â I've always been sad that there's never been another game with that kind of space combat.
deanb
Well this only has the one ship. Though you can hire mercenaries but I imagine they're pretty automated. Â One thing that's kinda neat with having the one ship is that the shields and hulls are independently port, starboard, aft n forward. Apart from the planets floating around it is sorta sea combat (have broadside cannons which work a lot like they do in AC, though I only played III). Â Only issue I have with it, which I might sort out tonight, is controls are a bit finnicky, trying to fly, maybe boost around, while aiming then raising deflector shields/firing flack cannon can be a bit funky since that's Sticks, one pushed down to boost, R2 to aim broadside, L2 to fire with R1 to raise deflector. Deflector might be easier if I can find a toggle feature.

TCP
I bought a fridge and stove from Best Buy last month, which gave me some points in their rewards program. Their rewards program is the most backwards fucking thing in the entire world, but it resulted in me having $25 of free Best Buy dollars (which expire... wtf?). I wanted a third DS4 since my original DS4 has a bad thumb pad and I don't feel comfortable with just having one useable controller. I saw this and couldn't resist:You see, it looks like an original PS1 controller. So cool. TheFlyingGerbil
I don't like most special editions but I think that one looks nice, and I don't even have any nostalgia for the original controller.

A real shame they're asking me to pay the best part of £50 for that. I could y'know, actually buy a game for that price.

Hot Heart
Technically, I haven't "bought" it but it's on Kickstarter and has absolutely smashed its target (from a well-loved designer and company). The agonising thing will be the wait...  Scythe   Sounds like my sort of game in that it is a hybrid of mechanics with asymmetrical gameplay and gorgeous presentation. Takes place in an alternative 1920s Europe, in which there are mechs alongside regular agriculture. It's got elements of worker placement, area control, engine building, action selection, deterministic combat, resource management, etc. It sounds like it captures what I love about Cyclades, but also expands on the more passive elements (a bit like Hyperborea) and it seems perfectly viable to win by pursuing a peaceful eurogame style or an aggressive expansion strategy.
Mal
Oh shit, that's where the concept arts I got for wallpapers came from! Color me interested because I want to get into more board games. I just don't know if I can muster up the cash for it since I really want the artbook. Come on look! Â A trained bear. What is there not to love!?
Hot Heart
Considering everything you get in the package (nothing is exclusive, but would cost more further down the line) it seems like a pretty great deal. Here's hoping you manage it!

TheMightyEthan
Question: Does TitS (I love that acronym) have anything to do with airships?
toxicitizen
Question: Does TitS (I love that acronym) have anything to do with airships? Lol. You'd think so but while there are airships in the game's world, the characters make it a point to travel on foot. At least, they do in FC.  That being said, the technology that powers the airships is an important element in the plot and the world's lore.  Oh and, it goes without saying but    But that's not all. The issue that's been holding up my student financial aid since the beginning of September has fucking finally been cleared up, so now it's time to do the mature thing: blow it all on a bunch of video games I don't really have time to play right now!       Really glad to finally be able to get those three, I've been wanting to play them so much. And last but not least, finally pre-ordered this  Edited October 29, 2015 by FHellD

Mister Jack
What exactly is the enhanced edition of System Shock? I tried to play the original version once that I got when it, uh, fell off the back of a truck, but it was just TOO old school and cumbersome, even for me.
toxicitizen
It's pretty much just the original game but with modern OS compatibility (it doesn't run on DOSBox), higher resolution support (only up to 1024x768, though) and the (essential) mouselook mod preapplied. From what I've heard, the clunky controls was the main issue even back in the days. Mouselook alone makes a hell of a difference in making it actually playable. Mister Jack
Â So this is some of the best DLC I've bought in years but GOOD GOD, Binding of Isaac was already a hard game and then they had to go and make it even harder!
