Dev_Revenge
Figures. This shit is too complicated. You assume someone knows what they are talking about and you end up talking about two different games. Anyway I haven't played it yet but I'm looking forward to it. Perhaps I should play it before FF IV?
Mister Jack
The numerical order really matters very little since there's no continuity between the two, so do whichever.
Showmeyomoves!
Dev, once you're done with FFIII and IV, I can also recommend FF: 4 Heroes of Light. It's not a remake, but it feels very old school, in a good way. It's a lot easier than FFIII and IV, though. Speaking of which, I never DID finish FFIV... Dev_Revenge
Hmm I passed on that at Target due to average reviews. I might still be able to find a copy for $7.50 this week though... edit: got better reviews than I thought...I think for some reason I thought that was a 'Crystal Chronicles' type of side game. I'm gonna try and check it out, thanks.
LucasReis
This topic is for those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s. When you were a kid, if you had a 16-bit system, which one did you own? If you ended up owning both after the prices plummeted, only count the one you owned back when they were still relevant. Owning both consoles was fairly uncommon since most parents didn't want to buy games for two systems. Which side were you on? Did you get into immature arguments with your peers about how yours was better than theirs? Be honest. I was on the Sega side of the fence, and I was a fanboy back in the day (but I was a closet Nintendo fan, I loved playing SNES on friend's houses). Those were good times and I loved playing what both had to offer, but when brands were discussed, I defended Sega furiously. I look back now and I laugh a lot about it, because it's just so immature! lol Nowadays I don't really care about brands, I only care about games, and I have all of Nintendo's and Sega's mainstream systems
Mister Jack
Of course, a lot of people never outgrew the console wars. Some still voraciously defend Colecovision for Christ's sake.

c hoertjes
SNES is shit tons better than the Genesis. It's still, in my mind, the best console of all time. OF ALL TIME. And probably the best controller, too.

c hoertjes
Nope. I truly believe it has the best library of games, and the controller is still super comfortable to hold for hours and hours.

Showmeyomoves!
I agree with Clowny. Maybe not on the controller part, though. But the SNES's 16-bit graphics have a timeless charm to them. You could say that's nostalgia, but that doesn't explain why I don't feel the same way about the NES (a console I actually owned as a kid, as opposed to the SNES). I think there's quite a few SNES games that still hold up pretty well if you show them to kids born in (or even after) the 90's. Hence all the remakes on PSN, XBL and Virtual Console. I have a Super Famicom at home, and the controller wires are SO SHORT. I either have to put the console on my lap or sit 1 inch away from the TV. Damn those freakishly tiny Japanese homes. Hot Heart
Had the same with Star Wars Jedi Power Battles, on ps1. Think I've rented that shit at least 15 times. Only recently did I actually buy it and replay the thing on my ps3. It has actually aged relatively well. Oh ye olden times.. ye simpler times.. Haha. If it's aged 'relatively well' it's because it couldn't really get much worse. Still love that game though.

Mister Jack
People today love to compare PS3 and 360 multiplatform games, trying to figure out which is superior. They need to look at a few multiplatform games on the Genesis and SNES for a little perspective. While not always the case, games could have the same name yet still be completely different. Observe one of the most egregious examples, Sparkster. Genesis SNES That's level one of both games. In some cases, you can probably see that even a few gameplay mechanics are different. Dev_Revenge
Alien 3 was another example of that, where the game was pretty different on each console.
Showmeyomoves!
SNES That Konami logo... Nostalgia overload. Turtles in Time was my favorite SNES game as a kid. Throwing Foot Soldiers at the screen just blew my little mind. BIG APPLE! 3 AM.
Yantelope
Other games that were totally different on Genesis vs. SNES: Jurrasic Park Aladdin TMNT (Hyperstone Heist Vs.
