TheMightyEthan
Apparently all we know at the moment is that it's a turn-based space strategy game. *Edit* - Apparently it's iOS too.
Mr. GOH!
I suspect it will be f2p and will therefore suck nasty balls.
TheMightyEthan
That is distinctly possible.
Mr. GOH!
PC, Android, and iOS availability is a dead giveaway.
TheMightyEthan
XCOM was good, even on iOS and Android.
Mr. GOH!
But it was limited compared to the PC version, I am told.
TheMightyEthan
Just saying there is a precedent for it potentially being fine, from the same publisher no less. Though it could also easily be f2p crap.
Mr. GOH!
Fair enough. I am skeptical. If we get Sid Meier's FTL, though, I will be a very happy man.
TCP
Sid Meier is the Nintendo of PC gaming. Listen, Sid, you're not relevant anymore, go away. Quit trying to hawk your wares here, Sid. We weren't interested in Beyond Earth and we're not interested in this. Go away, Sid! GO AWAY!
TheMightyEthan
<- was/is interested in Beyond Earth, and cautiously optimistic for this.
madbassman39
I am really hoping this is less Civ and more Pirates! in space. It looks like its more Civ though
Mr. GOH!
Blizzard is the Nintendo of PC gaming, Cowboy.
TCP
Stubborn company running on the fumes of an aging fanbase? Sure.
toxicitizen
I think Blizzard's massive success disqualifies them from being the Nintendo of PC gaming. Wouldn't that be more like, I dunno.. Apple? Not that I understand what the fuck that's even supposed to mean... Back on topic, this looks kinda... meh. I'm not sure about expecting it to be F2P garbage but just looking at screenshots you can tell it was designed as a mobile game first. That alone makes me significantly less interested. I mean, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol was alright, I guess, but it really didn't really grab me. It was fun but I only played for a few hours and never touched it again. TheMightyEthan
Gameplay from PAX South (the actual game starts around 32 minutes in): I haven't had a chance to watch more than the first couple minutes of the gameplay, but what I saw looks like it could be promising.
