Strangelove
GTA4 was cliched as fuck. You had a retard cousin with a retard accent acting like a retard the entire time. Basically the way most Americans see foreigners. But GTA4 was awfully boring and bland too. Cliches and standards are fine if they are done in a novel way, GTA4 didnt do any of that. it tried to set its own path and it failed big time. Only retards or people who thought they were too smart to be suckered in liked GTA4. The game was boring. Ive taken watery shits more exciting than GTA4. A developer being too big for it's britches....nothing new. GTA5 is at least 10 times better. BTW Beyond Special Edition has another extra chapter, avatars, a dynamic theme and a steelbook case.
Mr. GOH!
Didn't find Packie, though Lester mentioned him and Niko when listing folks he had considered as heist participants.Trveor also kills Johnny from the Lost and the Damned in his first mission. Thursday Next
Gonna wait for the hype-dust to settle before going for GTAV. Once bitten and all that.
Hot Heart
I enjoyed GTA IV. It had its fair share of problems, sure, but driving around that world was a lot of fun (and still is). The story did start to grate by the end, but then I haven't been in the habit of playing games for long stretches in a while, so it was less noticeable. If I tried to replay it now, I'd probably give up (I quit TBOGT because of some shitty mission) but at the time it was my first proper 'next-gen' experience, so I'll always have fond memories of it. Luftwaffles
So far, the reason I've liked GTAV a lot more than GTAIV boils down to the setting. I'm from California, have spent a lot of time in Southern California, and while I've been to New York and could recognize a few landmarks, there's something to be said for when you can drive down streets in a game and go "Oh hey, that looks like the real thing". That, and GTAIV's city environment got a bit boring after a while. The country and small-town environments in V are a great change.
madbassman39
I haven't done much of the missions yet, but I did steal a taxi and did some taxi missions. Its funny, the taxi missions dropped the timer from the pre-GTA IV games, and yet I find it more fun. I also stole an airplane and tried to land it on the Great Ocean Highway and blew up, tried to shoot a jet ski driver off of his jet ski while driving my own jet ski, took a tanker truck and plowed through deer, found an armored truck and failed to rob it, accidentally save a car I wasn't interested in (I want to get rid of this car) and payed to get it out of hock (I really don't want this car), and fought some Ballas. TheMightyEthan
I can't shoot for shit while I'm driving. It seems way harder than GTAIV, but that could just be that I don't remember how bad it was.
Mr. GOH!
I like GTA V better than GTA IV, but GTA IV was pretty good.
Mr. GOH!
It was bad in GTA IV, too. Weird that you get lock-on while on foot, but no lock on while in a vehicle.
madbassman39
I have auto aim and aim assist off and its extremely difficult to aim while driving. I find that I often lose the reticle as well, an issue I didn't have in Red Dead or GTA IV with the same settings. Oh well.
Mr. GOH!
I detest the white dot reticle. I lose it very easily. Loving the game, though. Trevor is a fantastic video game character.

GTA4 was cliched as fuck because of one character that's a cliche I've never even heard of? Please tell me in what ways its cliche. GTA4 wasn't bland at all it just didn't have everything thrown in your face like previous games. You had to discover things for yourself. Arguably, it was retards (aka most people) who overlooked the game because for once they didn't make something that shoves all of its intentions down your throat.
Hot Heart
Maybe you already know, and it's not much better, but there is a reticule with a bigger circle round it.
Mr. GOH!
Yeah, I didn't even look at the settings. Thanks, HH, it helps.

TheMightyEthan
Goddamn it was easy to max out my gun skill. $14 to get into the range, and 10 minutes later I'm maxed out.

Saturnine Tenshi
So is there a sexual performance skill in this one?
TheMightyEthan
There's stamina, but I don't think it has anything to do with sexual performance. I was actually just thinking a few minutes ago that boning chicks should increase it.
TheMightyEthan
I just did the first heist, and it was among the greatest things I have ever done in a video game. The only way it could have been better is if it had been a train job.
madbassman39
I'm about to get the prep work on my first heist. I did my recon work, and had to do a mission. I hired cheap help, because I blew all my money already in stock, and am going to go about it the "smart" way. I'm excited to do it tonight. One cool thing, my brother is at my place and he is playing too on my PS3. I told him to create his own profile on my playstation so he doesn't overwrite my saves, and apparently thats how it works. I had no idea.
TheMightyEthan
Right after the first heist: Holy shit, did Trevor just kill the PC from The Lost and the Damned?

Hot Heart
Goddamn it was easy to max out my gun skill. $14 to get into the range, and 10 minutes later I'm maxed out. Would you happen to have been playing as Michael, who is near max anyway? Random thoughts: - Found a radio station that plays Hot Snakes and Metz. Fuck yes. Though I will have to drive around the countryside listening to Ash's Uncle Pat at some point and, of course, down near the coast listening to Eminence Front. - Pretty sure one of my guys just shot me in the back during a mission...or I tripped on something and died? - Experienced an honest glitch where a car rose out from the ground AND FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL? Either way, nearly knocked me off my bike. - I like the random cop chases you can witness. One went on forever because the perp flew into the back of the cop car and got wedged there, so no one knew what to do except continue forward. Followed it down the freeway for a while until I intervened and t-boned the criminal's car. A very quick, short-range gunfight between the two parties ensued. One criminal dead. I pick up $14. - First heist was a lot of fun. Pretty awesome that my amateur gunman got nailed by the cops but Franklin managed to grab his cut. That's my boy! - STOP FRIGGIN' CHANGING THE CLOTHES I PUT YOU IN YOU GUYS
